DreamForge-Games is pleased to announce the release of the Leviathan Crusader!

Within the next few days, we will open up both the Leviathan Mortis and the Leviathan Crusader for Pre- Orders. Pre-Orders will be given at a reduced price for a limited quantity of models. I will update the website and announce the opening for pre-orders on the DreamForge-Games Blog. I expect to open pre-orders on Thursday the 28th or Friday the 29th of April and will make an announcement on the DreamForge-Games Blog http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/

This highly poseable model contains 143 plastic resin components and stands 8.5” tall to the shoulders. 9.5” tall including the reactor stacks. The assembled kit weighs nearly two pounds. The kit comes with all components required to build one Leviathan Crusader. (1) Main body legs and upper arms. (1) Right hand Vulkan Cannon (1) Left hand Executioners Blade (1) Armor Upgrade for listed components.
The Leviathan Crusader is armed with a right hand Vulkan Cannon and left hand Executioners Blade. The main weapon arms are hot swappable allowing for quick change out to any of the optional weapons available separately. Suitable for a display model or tabletop gaming.
*Not recommended for the novice model builder.
*Instructions for assembly are a web published PDF format.

What you need to know about the pre-orders:

1) There will be a limited number of pre-order slots available. (50)

5) Orders will be filled in the order that they were received.
6) You will be sent a tracking number when your order ships.

Price for kits:

Leviathan Mortis ($296.75 pre-order price) Retail $350.00

Leviathan Crusader ($306.75 pre-order price) Retail $375.00

Additional (optional) weapon arms and armor upgrade kits are also available at a reduced price.

Shipping costs: USPS, Priority Mail, Insured.
Delivery within the US $15.25
Delivery to Canada or Mexico $32.15
Delivery to the rest of the world $48.83

Background Fluff:
The Crusader was developed to fill a need for a more heavily armored Leviathan. What was produced is widely regarded as the most balanced and finest design possible. Possessing remarkable speed and survivability while not sacrificing offensive capability, it is often compared to its 20th century counterpart the Panzerkampfwagen V (Panther tank).

It holds the distinction of being the most widely produced VR5 Leviathan in existence. The Crusader can be found in every faction’s arsenal. At 160 years old, the design is still innovative. Independent households often barter away vast planetary resources to acquire a Crusader as these Leviathans lend credibility and prestige to the households standing within its parent faction. A faction ruler knows that when the household is called upon to fight they will answer with a very capable force.

Eisenkern uses this Leviathan as a powerful bartering chit with The Brotherhood. Tithing ten per year to the order they have managed to make themselves indispensable. The Brotherhood, by its charter, cannot maintain Leviathan manufacturing capability. This often gains Eisenkern an unfair advantage in dispute resolution with other factions.

Armed with the Executioners Blade and the massive Vulkan Cannon the Crusader can own its corner of the battlefield. The supplementary armor adds considerable weight to the design but the twin Maybach reactors are still able to handle the extra load. Equipped with oil stacks the Crusader can overcharge its reactor and deliver a withering close combat attack as it channels power to the plasma blade. There has been some recent debate about replacing the oil stacks with capacitor coolers but most pilots are unwilling to give up the combat edge.

Mark,

They look fantastic - will definitely be intouch re a couple of the seperate weapons. Glad all worked out with the caster.

"Wow... been waiting for this... but at those prices...maybe not." - I would say, that comparatively speaking: size vs no. of parts vs. detail - these leave Forgeworld for dead, price wise.

8.5" tall... yes, they are good not-knight titans... but not at that price. If the parts are internal, there is no real need for 143 parts each.

The 143 parts is because its fully pose-able. Every joint is pose-able. You really need to check out the assembly instructions to appreciate what really goes into this kit.

Im all in fro one of these, been waiting for a couple months for the orders to open.

Actually, at that size, probably a little bit big for Knights. Maybe a Proxy-Warhound?

As per the price...I don't think NoseGoblin is making a huge profit out of these per unit, and for the sheer amount of hobbytime involved in finishing one to it's full potential...at a dollar-per-hour rate, probably very cheap.

As always (and I mean no disrespect), the simple answer is "If you don't agree with the price, don't buy it."

Posting in a thread about your dislike of the price will most likely not influence those who are keen to buy, nor will someone saying "Oh, I'm going to buy one" change your mind about them.

Agree to disagree!

Padre^.

PS Am now going to find a real deep fox-hole before the mad little "KNIGHTS ARE NOT TITANS!!!" poster turns up in the thread...

Looks pretty good to me, at that height it's maybe only 1.5" too big to be a Knight for 40k. Still, I hope if FW ever does do a Knight that it will look similar to this.

I love the Crusader (other than the sword hand...), the claw hand from the Mortis would look a lot better on it

Its an extra option. All the arms/weapons are swappable, allowing different weapons combos to be used with a single model. You can also buy and use the scythe from the Mortis on the Crusader. Same with the weapons that will be released with the later Leviathan variants.

Im not a fan of the sword either, so Ill be buying at least 1 claw, maybe 1 for each arm.

They look great! I'm sure you'll fill your pre-order slots

But please, please, please seriously consider making a smaller scale version of the Crusader as mentioned above. GK players will literally throw their money at you.

Are we thinking that the pre-order slots will sell out fast or will there still be a slot open on the 1st? I would have the money then...

He was expecting a titan sized model with 120+ more individually posable parts and far more detail to be cheaper, apparently

Lol... Already working on that. I have been updating the CAD files and merging components. It wont be as posable but it also wont be difficult to build. The limited # of parts will keep the price down and get the model within reach, $$ wise, of a much larger number of gamers.

As it stands right now, the 15mm scale versions are first on the to-do list. Then the 3 other 28mm variants and their 15mm counterparts.
When will it be done? no date yet but its a rush priority for me.

I really cant blame anyone for being taken back by the price. ATM I could not afford to purchase one of my kits

When I started designing this back in early 2000 I wanted to make it completely posable, this desire made the # of parts skyrocket and the cost to produce a kit went up right along with the part count. I see this line of models as my "modelers line", more designed for the modeler than the gamer. In future releases and designs I will limit the number of parts to get the costs to a reasonable level.

A while back I wrote this up... http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/2010/11/i-am-great-and-powerful-oz.html

It turns out to be a VERY accurate estimate of the costs involved and of my profit margin. You can see that with this release it will be some time before I see any return on my investment. If anyone is getting rich off this release its not me, and having first hand experience of casting these I know that my caster is also not getting rich... Too many parts and too many molds involved for the caster to be sucking in a large margin either.

It's a beautiful model and you should be proud to produce it. A lot of guys like me dream of being able to do what you're doing.

I'm going to save my pennies, but I doubt I'll ever be able to afford one. It's gorgeous though and at the top of my wish list. Maybe come Christmas if I ask for nothing but money!

If you manage to capture the feel of the Crusader in a smaller scale, I will buy one from you -- and I don't even play GK. My only suggestion echoes one already mentioned: work on the sword a bit (more "gothic") and/or maybe consider offering (for separate purchase, even) other weapons.

Nah, I think it would make a perfect Knight-Titan for GK's. The more I look at this model, the more I want one. I want to show up to Friday Night Firefight and plop this guy painted in GK colors on the table and watch everyone's jaw drop. Hisaw would shizzle his britches (literally).

I have to have one.

The DK is about 5-6" tall and the Warhound is about 18" tall, so this would be just about right.
