Still working on that.. I need to get the 15mm Crusader out and a few infantry units, then back to vehicles.

To any other out there who are thinking about it, I have 3 Crusaders and a Mortis ready to go.... If you want one of the fully posable models, this may be a good time to pick one up. You can read my blog in regards to the news on this kit. Also see the Storm trooper sneak peak http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/2011/08/display-your-ident-card-citizen.html

Good call on the simplified Leviathan. As awesome as it is, there is a bit of over complexity to it.

The 32mm troops are looking good too.

Whats my game?

I kinda like that aspect of them. They're definitely distinct, but remind me a whole lot of darktroopers, more than anything else.

What a novel idea, surely no one already brought it up!

Also did you read the fine print of the warhound kit? "WEAPON ARMS NOT INCLUDED - THESE ARE SOLD SEPARATELY." That tacks on £70 or so extra

Yes you could.. It comes out to about $135.00 more and the castings have very large vents and gates that need to be dremeled away and chances are, any long thin parts such as barrels will be warped. It’s not as poseable, you can’t freely swap the weapon arms and.... it’s not this

Mad for minis posted a build log here on dakka.

this was on my forum.

Out of 70 kits sold, I have only seen three in various states of completion.

Stormtroopers are brilliant.

Massive improvement over Kriegsmarines, who occupy an awkward indecisive space between alternate-WWII Germans and future soldiers. New details on leg armour show it's definitely high tech polymer and composite not stamped metal, armoured panels in bodysuit are nicely chunkified, surfeit of pouches has been shown the door, shouder pads have made up their mind whether they want to stay or go, and head no longer looks like a WGF greatcoat's with earmuffs and a frilly bonnet.

Could easily see these as generic troops too; a little putty to hide the eagle on the gorget, some styrene along the top of the rifle and some putty to fill in the vents in the barrel shroud and job's a good 'un!

Yeah the Storm Troopers look great but I see two things taht could be problematic.

Going too close to the Star Wars design invites action from the notoriously litigation happy folks at Lucus Film.

And while 'strom trooper' is a historic term dating back at least to WWI, it is still trademarkable when refering to Sci Fi armored troopers. I'd consider another name or always using them with an adejective to hedge against IPR problems.

I think if he just changes the surface coloration to not accentuate the "nose" on the CG model, it wouldn't "look" so much like an SW storm trooper. Its a single feature that is so heavily contrasted by colors on the SW ST and this ST that its hard not to draw the parallel, but in a more subdued color choice it'd just look like a gas mask.

I'll check out Mad4Minis! But I can see why you haven't seen them posted- I bought an extremely complicated kit last year, and have yet to brave touching it... . I think it's a mental block, but probably pretty common, too. Don't want to ruin such a beautiful/expensive model!

I think it's worth pointing out that the figures are part of the "Eisenkern" faction according to the blog, so they are already technically "Eisenkern Wehrmacht Storm Troopers", or, I suppose, Eisenkern Sturmtruppen if Mr. Mondragon keeps to the naming scheme he uses in the post. A prima facia very safe name.

As for the physical resemblance to Imperial Storm Troopers from Star Wars... While there is a certain evocative connection, mainly from the "mouth" area on the faceplate, it must also be considered that the figure is also clearly wearing a very close facsimile of a stahlhelm (which is nicely in keeping with the Germanic naming scheme), and the body armor bares little resemblance to SW Imperial Storm Trooper armor, being much bulkier.

Personally, I am much more fond of the helmet and face-mask design from the earlier "Kriegsmarine drop trooper" mock-ups;

I much prefer that face-mask, as I find it more "realistic" looking (if I can say such a thing) and also more... aggressive, I would say. The "frowny-face" on Star Wars armor I don't think translates all that well to other media.

Considering the Leviathan Crusader is in resin alongside the rest of these products, are these Stormtroopers to be in resin as well?

I'd imagine these things being a success if they're affordable and in plastic. However, considering the Leviathan Crusader's price, price may be questionable.

Don't get me wrong, the quality of the Leviathan is remarkable and the price is quite justified considering the detail. However, pricing it too high may lead to a bit of a problem appealing to casual buyers.

White metal... I can do them in resin but the cost goes up and a spincaster that knows what they are doing can match or exceed resin casts.

I cant see any reason why they wont be priced the same as the other mini's out there, and far less than a GW fig.

NoseGoblin- can you confirm that you're still trying to find a caster for the 15mm version? In Mad4Minis thread, someone posted saying it was cancelled as you couldn't find a caster who would do it for under $95... but it seems that surely bulk orders could help with that, or something?

After looking at the pictures, I have to say that the resemblance to sw stormtroopers is striking. Please, change the coloration of the pictures to disguise the resemblance. I'd hate for such a talented little company to get ruined by legal trouble.
