For me, it is without a doubt my BT command squad

Helbrecht + Master of Sanctity + 10 Initiates + 3 Neophytes -

Master of Sanctity
- Artificer Armor
- Terminator honors
- Thunder Hammer

10 initiates
- 1 Sergeant
-- Power Weapon
-- Terminator Honors
- Apothecary
-- Power Weapon
-- Terminator Honors
-- Storm Shield
- Fighting Company Champion
-- Terminator Honors
-- Storm Shield
- Banner Bearer
-- Chapter Banner
-- Power Weapon
-- Storm Shield
-- Terminator Honors
-2x Flamers

Everything in the squad has Furious Charge
Dedicated Land Raider Crusader w/ smoke launcher
Comes out to 1060 points. (Yes, I actually use this squad in some of my games lol)

I was curious to see if anyone else had any overly expensive DS units they ran. I could easily pump this squads points up even more, but I thought I would just get the ball rolling.

I opened this thread thinking it was about deep strike. As it doesn't actually state death star...

5 x Stormtroopers w/ 2 x Plasma guns

My most expensive deep strike squad. Makes me feel a bit inadequate though. I don't really do death stars, being Guard. Does a tank squadron count?

My math came to only 2035 points =x

Also I think you can add one more DC to that. Lemartes isnt an upgrade, he's an additional character to the unit.

Probably should amend it to most expensive deathstar that you've actually used...

For me I have used a Canoness and her retinue with an attached priest. I've only really used this in Apocalypse and will stow them in a Land Raider Redeemer.

Canoness with inferno pistol, blessed weapon for weapons and Book of St Lucius, frag, krak, and melta bombs, Cloak of St Aspira, Litanies of Faith, Mantle of Ophelia, and Rosarius for wargear
9 Celestians (heavy flamer, flamer, frag and krak grenades, Simulacrum Imperialis, and the Sacred Standard)
Veteran Celestian Superior with plasma pistol and eviscerator
Priest (power armor, Rosarius, bolt pistol, power weapon, frag and krak grenades, melta bombs)

Its as killy as Sisters get in close combat and I can do a bit of wound allocation shenanigans. If I can help it I use Straken in the background to give Furious Charge. That generally means I hit on 3's vs. almost anything and wound on 4's (or 2's in some cases) with reroll's to hit on Initiative 5. With some faith I can do some more nastiness and expect to survive the return hits.

The squad totals in at 550 points without the Land Raider Redeemer which comes in at another 265 with extra armor and a multi-melta. I know the squads not legal in a normal game but thats how I roll in Apoclaypse. In regular games the squad is very similar with slightly less Celestians and no krak grenades and no priest to come to 10 models and I field a Repressor with extra armor. Thats 480 points total.

Erm guys, I think OP is asking for a Deathstar unit you actually have, not the most expensive you can think of. Otherwise, I'd second Angron leading 12 Bloodthirsters

Oh, that we've actually used? I got nothing then, I tend to prefer multiple mid-cost units to an actual deathstar.

I saw someone at the local GW store using Draigo, a Libby, and 10 Paladins... that's over 1000 points easily with the upgrades.

Most expensive squad one can make out of any given codex is an old game, done to death. I thought the question was about the most expensive you've actually used in a real game. I suggest disqualifying Apocalypse too, or at least specifying. I'm normally very anti-deathstar in my approach. I like to distribute the threat and damage potential through my army, and have everything be disposable.

So far I guess my most expensive is the assault terminators in my new BA. They're only 220 themselves, but I normally attach a librarian and a sanguinary priest with power weapon. That's 385 + 265 for the redeemer with multimelta and extra armor. Prior to that, it would probably be a squad of eight chaos terminators I've used in Ard Boyz. Still only ~400 with upgrades.
