I know it's not done yet. As it is right now it could have an application as some sort of Tyranid goop / snot / DNA fluid.

Ick.

Soo.. What's in store for DoomGrot the 3d then?

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

Yes Skalk, I think it could easily be made into some sort of ick I think green could be mixed in before you apply it, but not sure.

The white dry brush looks very good and yes you can mix in paint and inks. I've used it on my Nurgle marines with yellow ink and red for blood effect on something but I cant remember what lol

Ah I remember it was blood dripping off the axe of one of my plague marines those guys are dirty.

I'd actually suggest doing something like a green/teal/aqua wash on it as well before doing the white drybrushing.

Thanks for that info My daemon prince is going to have a river of blood on his base so I will do a red mix.

Thanks! I would like to keep it cloudy in places too, but it goes clear once it's totally set :(

I've got some vallejo still water too!!

Here's a test base, with about 4 thin layers so far.

I painted the base with a few browns first, then glued the stones in a circle and poured in the water. I've tried directly onto the stones also to see how it settles.

Oh and I did a thinned blue wash on the first base to see what happens.

That's looking nice, tipios. How did you get the little waves and splashing effect? Is the water effect stuff tacky enought to stay up like that?

Yeah, where it breaks over the foot of the dread.

Or are you thinking it's more of a splash as it's running through the water?

It's going to be a splash, but I guest then it should part a bit also I'm looking at pictures of fast running rivers too see how it should look!

cormadepanda wrote:the blue wash is interesting...maybe even thin it alittle more?

Yes needs more thinning, because now it is dry, it's even bluer

Thats a cool idea. When I first saw the pic I was wondering what I was looking at but now after reading.... The is a concept. I completely get it. That blue wash it cool also.

Are you going more for a river or stream or a puddle? Could always use a light brown wash to muddy it up some if you wanted.

First off I have to say that I am to closed minded at what treads I look at. I mostly look only at ork related treads and skip most of the rest. But now after going threw all 30 some odd pages of tipios's tread and seeing those dreadnoughts, dread knight and defiler conversions I have to say shame on me. They are absolutely brilliant. I makes me want to buy some dread and chaos and start converting. And I have to say damn you tepios for that. But really your work is mind blowing. All those conversions even your orks are top notch. Well done sir. Well done.

And I found my pin drill.

I was just thinking about this. Have you left a space for the foot? Should the foot be partially covered with the water effects?

Thanks for keeping the conversion on the straight and narrow

Yes I think I may have to paint the gravel, so it matches the bigger cork rocks. Because I tried painting the rock to match the gravel, but I can't get it right
