@shazo the dust tactics legs are really nice , not too dumpy , but , they are pricy per squad if you add the gw ig to them though serves me right for meddling

@Rawson yep no mini is safe in this house , infact nothing is safe fullstop , i even dried out some fried rice and potted it for basing materiel still unsure on vendrake , will probably get armoured shoulders tbh. although he is not how i imagined him , i do like the model this way. i wanted a more sinister eisenhorn style inquisitor , maybe its better this way less formulaic


just wanted to share a vehicle wip i made tonight , only blu tacked for now..

A while back right at the start of this blog .. i started a comic ..Praxus i did all the prep and the story but haven't get around to illustrating it yet during one of the chapters the main character rides a jet bike . So i scoured the net for cool looking 40k jetbikes to draw.. now as yuo all lmow there are loads of scratch builds out there.. but i fell in love with one built right here on dakka by the extremely talented Xanthos

I asked his permission to use his design in the comic and he kindly agreed unfortunately i haven't got around to doing that yet but i was thinking about it today and got rather inspired again by his design . I decided to have ago at doing one myself , i didn't want to copy his design too much , but i did love the heavy front end look.
so i made this , it wont ahve the space marine on when complete as i like my marines full size , maybe an arbite or ash waste trader zooming out over the frozen chem sands of necorumanda though

Hey folks , had a little play today and managed to add some more bits to the bike , trying to find a good balance between chunky but nimble, i think i went too far , and will strip away most of what i added today in the final version.

@Weety , I think you have persuaded me to go down the trader route i always fancied doing a waste land trader after seeing the john Blanche art of one years back

I did a bit of research just i case this turns into another side tracked hobby session with more than one bike. I a have an old Alien vs Predator comic that has some nice designs for similar stuff, so I popped it together for a print out..

i know jetbikes have too small wings and that is a concept of the whole thing... but seeing your referrence vids and pics i need to point out the bigger wingspan of the given images there in the vids...to be your cool jetbike would gain more look! when you widen a thing the wings...


oh and about the beefy..well since you don´t eat meat i think you stuff all your unused pork in your models

I think you may be right vik , the wings do look small now i have porked him up , Gonna do a photo shop and see what it looks like . cheers mate

the changes i made were

1 added a siren

2 added a light

3 added a longer tail booster

4 added more armour around the sides

5 added cabling underneath

6 added front bumper and and engine protector

I am going to green stuff and glue it to day , do you guys think it looks better with or with out the added stuff ?

definatly with... now i had a good look and i really are twosplit here^^ froma realistic point of view i say the cables undernath would be a hazard... but who cares when reality is in the backseat and coolness is driving^^ keep all and maybe get some bigger wings to be done...i am especially interrested how the fenders will look painted in this arangement...i guess they will be subject to some severe weathering...^^

also nice scene with your inquisitorial guys there... reminds me a bit of a tombstone shootout^^

i redid the wings in paper and a 2d graphic , they look much better larger , definitely going to do them this size now, many thanks Vik

Hey guys really exited about this bike thing ... from here on to be named "The Lance" thinking how to base him made several ideas rush forward in my nogging. A diorama
is now in the planning stages I really digged the idea of using the Ash waste as a starting point. And i have been wanting to create some ahs waste traders since they firts came out back in ..erm 1991 so i will finally use this opportunity to kill several birds with one bolt round i have already stared work on the Trader , and its so much fun , will pots some pics when my cam has new batteries but for now i wanted to share with you the concept art from confrontation that has me giddy like a kid on christmas eve.

Hey guys i have been a bit busy lately trying to finish off the Ashwaste Diorama, I wanted to see if i could combine the Jes Goodwine greatcoat ig picture along with the John Blanche Ash waste Nomad picture , lots of fun so far, haven't had time to post , but i did take snaps along the way if you would like a look see
Still lots to do adding chemical oily sump water , really like the effect of the Ash though and i made a tut if anyone is interested to doing it themselves

@Roguewolves Arbite did get the bike after all.

@inquisitorlewis I wanted to give him a red skull like er.. redskull but i think that would look cool on the renegade guys with skull heads instead.
