Meks looking surprisingly understated but thats good you need to look relatively normal to lure unsuspecting passers by to their hideous fate!
Grots got that attention to comedy vibe I like about you, the basic lad looks as if he's railing at an unjust galaxy and his hideous fate. (Some buggers forgot to replace his eyebulb after it's fused) The Lootas Tripod and brain is looking great although I feel the gun could do with some optimisation.......
Have to admit I can't help but like the posh speed boat vibe still!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Gits - Thanks a lot. There has to be humour with greenies I believe, proper old-skool orks, like wot Paul Bonner drew
TR - Cheers bud! If you approve I know I'm getting at least some of the original vibe I'm after
dstein - Well, there's a seemingly endless sea of grey to feed it in my humble abode.
CK - Thanks, how did I know you'd go for the grot It almost got another head, but just as I was about to start chopping I remembered that one. Still unsure as to whether the loota will be getting those 'legs', but someone will.
Llama - There needs to be a few simpler guys about to help the insane ones 'pop' a bit more Oh, there'll be wires added to that gun, don't worry There are actually plans for speedboats, but they're still in the distant (and grim, never forget it's grim) future. You know, what with hovvakraft Junkas and sharks and stuff, needs some more watercraft at some point
It's been a little windy out there yesterday and today, and therefore a little rocky in here. Decided I'd better put a hold on most modelling (painting is RIGHT out) for the moment, after a couple of bad cuts. To figures, not me I hasten to add.
So what could I do that could handle some rough cuts? (Yeah, I know, just about anything orky, but)
Hmm, how about re-trying that orky bastion thing over there? Yeah, that'll work.
It's an old promotional calendar that had a note-pad inside it, I kept that one as I thought it would make a good bit of terrain someday, hexagonal with a base that was nicely placed for mini's on a roof once it was upside down.
So I turned it upside down, stuck some treadplate to the roof and stuck it to an scratched dvd. There's some funny texturing there from a previous attempt. I got as far as taping off some areas, spraying it with stone textured paint then taping up the corners. I then decided that approach was rubbish and placed it on my bookcase of bits.
Added a doorway. Important they is. Gets you in an' out, nice an' easy like.
Old rhino hatches, plastic tubes and a bit of wire. I'm leaving the two uprights open ended, I'd like a couple of different looks for the front. One is a banner draped between two poles coming out of those larger poles, welcoming peeps to the dok's kaff, or whatever it becomes. Another would be to have supports coming out of them for a patform extending from the roof. Maybe some other stuff too, so they'll stay open.
Cardboard to plastic, cardboard to dvd, plastic to dvd all bonded with a mix of revell plastic cement, superglue and UHU. Sticks it all together and creates a toxic miasma Papa Nurgle would be proud of. A hot glue gun would be a much better option, but mines buried somewhere and I was looking for a quick fix.
Random scraps of panels on one wall and a solid plastic base to work off on another. Possibly a plant room extruding from the wall, with a jury-rigged platfom stuck on top, or two small platforms in a gantry kind of style. Something that I want a nice bit of plastic to stick things too though
Bit of sheeting and a little platform affair, held up with a chain and a rusty barbed wire adorned strut. Comfy, comfy.
Err, and that's about it for now.

HAZZER - Thank you good sir, and welcome aboard the good ship lollipop. No, wait, that's not right....

Santobell - The one I'm turning into a buggy is from Antenociti's Workshop. The Governance Of Technology range.
http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/
The crab-style one shown previously was from Mig Productions, sculpted by FichtenFoo.
The two old ones belong to the Special Vehicle Force:
I'd date them from the late 80's, and that's about all I can tell you on those two, I've not been able to find anything out about them with a few searches.
The second pic of the telescope was somewhere along the lines of my thoughts, just...wonkier That's some nice rust reference on the first one.
Tortured - Now I was trying not to think about rokkits on this piece. Oh well, there goes that.... Big telescope, tiny rokkit? Hmmm.
No update I'm afraid tonight, but I do have some nostalgia.
Can't go wrong with a bit of nostalgia. That box above holds some paints. I'd not been in there for a LONG time as it's been kind of supporting things such as landing pads and wooden sheets that WIP's are kept on. As I'd got it out for the pic (calm down in the back there madam) I had a little peek to remind myself what was in there, I was expecting some flourescent liquitex paints tbh.
There were a couple of flourescent Humbrol acrylics in there, and some old-skool citadel .
Some peeps will remember these fondly I'm sure:
Ahhhh.
All still liquid, and check out that Ruby Red - unopened There may well be some metallic green and blues appearing on some cyborks near you ...err, well soon probably doesn't really describe it, but you get the idea I'm sure.
Late night internet present shopping sometimes leads to impulse buys for yourself I find. Case in point:
A couple of series 7's and a few vallejo paints. What passed for a game store around here shut down a while back, and so I figured that as my main source of paint would now be the internet I should switch to vallejo for the better bottles and droppers. However the thing with impulse buys is sometimes you don't look very closely, or just do it so quickly you don't think about it.
There were a couple of sets available and I plumped for the Wargame Special, bound to be a useful selection of colours in there. Why did I not even bother to see what colours I was buying
Ok, so there's a variety of nice ones there, but flourescent yellow, orange, magenta, green AND blue? I have larger jars of most of those. I have the orc and Goblin set on it's way too, but I did look at that one first so know I'm getting what I want there.

Thanks for the Antenocitis link, hadn't run across them before, definitely going to make use of them for some basing and scenery. Some cool stuff there!
Looking at these reflections of times gone by makes me wish I had gotten into the hobby much earlier, instead of making model planes, I could've been building toy soldiers!

CK - I do know the ones, sadly my red and yellow ink have finally run out I have other reds, none quite as good, but I've not found a yellow that's as vibrant as the GW ink. I loved that over a white undercoat. Anyone know of a decent replacement?
neil - Don't worry about the 'subtle', I'm sure the meks will knock that out during konstrukchan
lone dirty dog - Indeed.
zeke - Yeah, there's some nice stuff there. Think of the model planes as practice for the real thing - toy soldiers!
dstein - I'm just worried that'll I'll end up using them for everything, which is how I tend to knacker whichever brush is my current favourite at any time
Not a lot to show, but a little more plastic found itself being mauled and attached to a bit of carboard:
One and a half sides to go plus some detailing. Once the basic unit is done I'll start painting it and add the extra whotsits later (mainly as the list of potential extra whotsits is getting longer by the hour)
Keep an eye out for rogue grots, in the cold weather they like to sneak into homes for munchies and looties.

I have found an artists yellow acrylic ink works great I would say just as good as the old GW (maybe a little thinner than theirs) but a good replacement I will dig it out and check the make for you, it comes complete with a droplet lid which is useful as well.
It was not to expansive either and they have some crazy coloured inks in there selections I nice one for grots great rich green colour and this weird brassy metallic colour which I wish I had bought as it is never in stock now.
