I think the gold needs work. Might just be the lighting but it seems to lack depth and appear a uniform yellow. Attack it with some sepia & delvan washes.

@Gits: Agreed. It is true that the lighting might not be helping; but if it needs to be clarified/justified, it is most surely not enough!
While trying for an aged gold look, I did not got far enough either way: shadows are not dark enough, and highlights are too "subtle", and thus...
Will go over it with some more sepia first, and rework the highlights next, TY.
@W_W: Thanks, now trying to finish the guy to put on top of it !
@Shaso: As I see it, one can never have enough zombies! Courtesy of JMMelo, they are being put together now, will hopefully see some paint sooner than later...
Cheers.

Some rework on the golds, trying to get there.
Lighting is still eating part of the contrast, though, hard to photograph.

Maybe a sepia wash to give it that little pop, by ever so slightly darkening the recesses.

Hmmm, I tend to use a antique gold base, then polished gold, brown wash, dry-brush polished gold, mix in some silver to the gold and highlight the edges

Boxing day painting!
Tomb King is been set aside for the time being, the aforementioned sepia ink happened to take the long site seeing road back home, and it' not that there aren't other things waiting in queue anyways...
Last week I'd put together some of that prefab terrain from Maki for Deadzone:
Using the provided, pre-made pieces for the bases seemed like a waste of perfectly usable already detailed pieces, so made some basic replacements instead.
For ease of painting (actually, to be able to spray both sides without waiting out the drying time), I put some sacrificial raisers on the bases. Yes, I measured where to put them. Yes, I'm that damaged, it seems. But the white spots (on the bottom, lying on the table, where they are impossible to see) are all on the same places.
I'd recently scrounged a couple half-cans of metallized paint. Gave it a shot:
And basecoated!
Lots to do yet, but serviceable!
And on a more "serious" painting note, had a start on the not-Eschers tough girls:
Test gals, with and wo preshading:
Some more blocked in colours and some:
And the other one:
Guess it's time to try tackle the skin...
C&C are welcome, as always.
Hope everybody is having a great Christmas, happy Yule to all stopping by!
Cheers.

What kind of glue did you use for the Maki containers? I discovered that regular Testors model cement does not work.

@Zogg: Nope, nor did my other (local, unbranded) plastic cement.
Superglue-like (cianocrilate based) one worked fine, and contact surfaces are large enough for a strong bond.

Really, Gitsplitta, really? Is that stereotype even true in south South America? (It certainly is in northern South America.) As a North American, I noticed the large bosoms first.
On a more practical note, how is the quality of the Raging Heroes minis? Never mind that it should be Raging Heroines
That prefab terrain has potential. Make it shiny and new, not rusty, por favor. The derelict look is out for 2016.

@Gits: Who? Me? I hadn't noticed...
@Red H: I'd say bosoms, but what do I know?
TGG minis are really good. Crisp casts, great detailing. Few and very thin (shallow?) mould lines (except for the one on the back of the pistol arm, that I didn't notice until it was too late, ). JMMelo put them together though, so I can't speak about ease (or lack thereof) of assembly.
No excessive weathering on the buildings, got it. But maybe a hazard stripe or three?
More work before the weekend's end, flesh tones:
(I'll have to redo the neck laces and dog tags, among other touch ups. And finish the guns).
Comments and suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by.

The RH girls are NOT the easiest minis to put together... the detail and mold lines are really crisp, but they are tiny! and some parts are ridiculously thin. The resin breaks really easy on those parts. I got the resin (or spin plastic, whatever) ones, cannot speak for the metal ones.
About the maki buildings, LOOKING GOOD! Love that you went a completely different route from mine I used testors cement (the one with a citric scent) and it falied too. But the other one (tamiya, I guess) worked fine.

I know, but how could I pass up the opportunity to comment? Or give this very sad link, http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2015/12/28/kim-kardashian-nicki-minaj-behind-surge-in-behind-surgery/?intcmp=trending Apologies for the source. :( Interesting that it is labeled Brazilian.
The turquoise haired mini's face looks very nicely detailed. The turquoise hair is a nice touch too. The hat wearing one has a really awkward stance, but I guess with the resin there is no re-posing it? Also, any thoughts about painting on some tattoos?
That citrus smell would be compounds called terpenes. Useful compounds for cleaning too. Re: ridiculously tiny parts... after assembling Corvus Belli and now some Wyrd miniatures, I am unfazed by such things. What sort of adhesive works with that resin/spin plastic?

Regular superglue... just used the local "la gotita" (the little drop) and it worked fine.
About the stance, the legs and torsos are limited in number, and that is the weirdest leg position that comes with the kit. Now that it is painted it looks 100% better. Unpainted I could not shake the feeling that the proportions were wrong.

And time flew by...
Had not been around since last year, but haven't been (not totally, at least) idle:
Partially assembled and started painting the Sphinx:
First time magnetizing too, trying for both possible builds there, we´ll see how that comes along.
And that was about it for the Christmas/New Year holidays!
More up to date, I finally got to the Deadzone Marauder Captain:
Minimally converted one of the TGG Girls in the painting queue, too, and got some other things prepped and primed, but not much else...
Time to get in gear, before yet another year flies by!
Cheers!

@Gits: Ork? I no see no Ork! Not even close to one... Oh, wait, it does look like one after all, don't it?
Ant thanks!
Sphinx is probably going to be a long term project, to-do list and attention span being what they are...
Speaking of which, got back to the rest of the Delaque gang in progress:
More crews:
There seemed to be some some little casting mishap on one of the guys, lacking the abs definition quite usual on the rest of the line on one side of the body, opted to try and make look like a scar insteadd (maybe from burning?).
Sniper:
And the second Heavy, first serious attempt at OSL, please, go easy on him (an me!):
And a close up on that:
C&C are always welcome.
Thanks for stopping by, hope Sunday painting is working out for everybody!
