Thanks very much for the kind words guys, much appreciated. How's this for another update, as promised painted pics of the marauders.

Now I have had these guys done for a bit, and this will give some idea of where I'm going with them color scheme-wise, and I'm still adding models to them, so they are not completely done, but getting there. Originally these guys got there start as an Adepticon team effort with fellow Grumpy Old Coot, Mike Butcher, we went to Adepticon with a Chaos Mortals and Ogre army. Each half had to be 1000 pts apiece with one lord between the two armies. The centaur was my Tzeentch Aspiring champion and general at the time prior to the new chaos knights, and has since been retired.

Your flesh tones are amazing. Good job my friend.

Thanks. My fleshtone painting improved greatly when I switched over to the Reaper Master Series Fleshtone triads. Really helped out.

Here are the flailing mutant marauder horde, and flail they do, don't hit much of anything.

A couple of modeling shots of that unit.

The disco hero. I'm torn on the hero at the moment, haven't played this army enough to decide what I want on the disc. So instead of making two discs, I'm going to magnetize the hero's arm giving him either a sorcerer staff or a flail to make him str 7 and an exalted hero.

This is really a true kit bash so far using parts from all over the place. I think it will be a very dynamic looking figure riding this ominous disc that I'm working on.

The head and cape are from the 40k Terminator Lord kit, a lot of awesome bitz in that kit, as G-M shown on the link. I'll be using more bits from there. The staff will be used with a magnetized arm.

The little exhaust like thingies may either get cut off and covered up or be used for some trophy back banner things. We'll see. I plan to make something to sort of cover the left shoulded joint so the seam between arm and torso is bit camouflaged.

I think he'd look better with two bloobletter legs than one warrior and one bloodletter. I loved that first image, but after scrolling a bit I was less sure.

I'm stealing the marauder torso on bloodletter legs idea though. For plaguebearers. Hah-let's see how that turns out!

Fancy demons?

I built this recently on commission, of the horse bodies out there in the GW range the WE horse is certainly one of the more dynamic ones, makes for a neat looking centaur.

And speaking of Centaurs, I have a new one that I'm working on for myself:

Nice! These are really cool models all round. I particularly like the Disc riding tzeentch hero. His athrophied leg looks kinda disturbing in a good way.

Oftentimes, I find great converters are average painters, or vice-versa.

You my friend do both excellently! Original sculpts, even those that are only minorly modified are done so in a manner that really changes or enhances the feel of the original piece.

Very nice, you should be proud of your work!

Your stuff is incredible man. The mixture of beast & ogre bits with the marauders, and the interspersion of unit fillers makes for a great looking unit.

Wow, many thanks for the kind words, they are much appreciated.

Continuing the theme of building my warriors of chaos army the first of two chariots for the, semi-scratch built the chassis for this, then added the shaft and yoke system from the normal chaos chariot, paint scheme had to have the classic hot rod flames with a twist.
And yes if you look closely the halbreder in the back does have hooves. This was a fun conversion.

Had a chance to mess around with some Empire flaggees and convert them to a proper following of chaos. When I started these on commission, the guide was just to add a few horns and weapon conversions, but I had to do a bit more than that, there are going to be about 40 of them so many more to follow.

Next group of Flaggees, I really did not like this kit for awhile, but I have to say its starting to grow on me.

Thanks, the blues are something I have done for a very long time. My approach is painting dark to light, sort of like a contour map, and I use a real small amount of glaze medium to help soften the highlight transitions.

The blues are Vallejo Model Color: Dark Prussian Blue, Dark Blue, Royal Blue, Medium Blue, Andrea Blue, and a small amount of Sky Blue.

Thanks. I have a few things up my sleeve on my Warriors of Chaos army that I'm not quite ready to show.

And those of you on the east coast, you'll be seeing many of those mutants and marauding centaurs, soon as they are all owned by one guy, who is very good player and painter. I'm looking forward to seeing them in paint.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Next batch of the mutants, hand weapon/shield variety. I remember seeing some artwork somewhere that had two sets of eyes and noses so I had to do that using the flamed head.

And a detail shot of one of the dual armers:

Next group of 5, Continuing the theme of mutations. I think the musician turned out kind of cool with all of the bells. Another with two sets of eyes. The one with the big stick will be a bannerman eventually.

Continuation of the mutant empire flaggelants. Some like the one with the two faces is kind of freaky. Been mixing up the weapons a little bit, incorporating some easy conversions as we go...
