Like a previous poster I had problems with Spontaneous Lictor Arm Separation, but I was able to fix it by using epoxy instead of superglue.

I've never liked the new plastic Burna Boys. They look bad and it's a pain getting the tanks, tank straps, gun and gun arm all lined up. Bob help you if you want to your troops to actually be posed differently. It's faster, easier, cheaper and more fun to take a spare plastic shoota boy, mod his gun to look flamethrowery and then mod up some tanks for him (if you, a friend or parent shoots .22 short the spent shell casings make excellent burna tanks, and since they can't be reloaded usually no-one else really wants them) and use that instead.

It's just insult added to injury when a model is a pain to assemble and then when you're done you look at it and "that's it? I went through all that annoyance for THIS?"

Men, I am not ordering you to attack. I am ordering you to die. In the time that it takes us to die, other forces and commanders can come and take our place.

I find that any GW model compared to any other manufacturer is more difficult to construct.

No way! Horde models from Pirateer press never fit correctly. They practicly force you to pin them. But.. then again a lot of other companies putter models are 1 piece

1- Tomb Kings, Tomb scorpion - Trying to get this thing to stand on the tiny little legs was horrible.
2- Tomb Kings, Screaming Skull Catapult - This has to be the worst model ever. Every piece relies on 8 other pieces to be in the right place before it can be glued. Assembled one, has another that I haven't even opened the box on.
3- Skorne, Cyclops Savage - The hands holding the sword will never line up with the arms, ever.
4- Skorne, Titan Gladiator - There is a gap in this model's torso that I can see through...
5- BFG, Plant Killer - Not really the assembly, but trying to find a way to balance this thing on a flying base, still haven't been able to yet...

Everybody speaking here without naming this one model have not seen what horrors GW created yet:

- Witchhunters Exorcist. The rhino chassis is okay but apart from that it comes with nearly a kilo of metal (well, ... at least a gakload!) and those pieces don't fit together. Another thing that makes this model so annoying is the lack of a construction manual. You have so many metal pieces there and GW does not even tell you where to place them? Awesome indee.

I had massive trouble with the Capitol Imperialis (for those that don't know, it was a huge war machine used for transporting IG companies in Epic). The model was sculpted slightly lob-sided. It was a right bugger to assemble and no matter how hard you tried, there was a huge gap. You adjusted the side pieces to close that gap and another would appear. Then the rear ramp didn't fit. Then the front ramp didn't fit. Then the original gap would re-appear. I wasted half a tube of superglue and debonder assembling that before admitting defeat and buying some milliput to fill the holes!

Also, the original Mk7 SM devstators that came out during 2nd edition 40k were a pain. They had metal weapons, plastic arms and metal bodies that you had to assemble using a variety of pins to make sure that it didn't fall apart when it was used.

while i cant say for sure for any other miniatures wargaming company, when compared to Tamiya, GW is downright poor in comparison. Of course, Tamiya models arent for wargaming, they're static display scale models, and probably one of the best companies for that out there.

I think we can all safely agree that metal models where you need to attach a hand to a wrist, is easily one of the most frustrating things.

Like the Khorne Daemon Prince, which is FORTY PIECES. Go to the FW site. Try to guess all the pieces.

Solomon Lok's Servo-skull is likewise a massive pain in the ass.

Most annoying build:

Ghazkull in Mega Armor. A zillion pins, and a ton of filing.

On the plus side, I sharpened his horns, so you could impale him into your opponent if you had to!

personally the model i hated to build myself was the Hellcannon....OMG so many different pieces taht didn't lineup correctly. Greenstuff became my best friend after that mess.

Helped my friend build some Zoanthropes a long time ago and the memories still haunt me of bases not fitting, the top half falling apart and the head barely making it balanced

The lack of instructions, whilst annoying, is far from the worst part. Almost every single piece is warped in some way and requires a good hour or so to bend into the right shape, plus you'll need to use a ton of GS to fill in all the gaps :(

Looks amazing when it's finished though

Really? I find doing that quite easy since the two parts can be made to fit together quite easily. Compared with a big metal model like the Hellcannon, Chaos Chariot or the metal parts of the Fire Prism where the parts don't fit together well. You need to bust out the file and/or start bending the parts before even starting to pin and gap fill.

I just got a Monolith today and put it together. God help you if one of those side panels warps in even the slightest bit. I had to use a match to heat the plastic enough that I could bend it back into its proper shape, and even then I had to hold the edges together with duct tape while the glue dried.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

The original metal Empire Steam Tank, god awful to glue together and terrible casting resulting in big gaps needing copius amounts of Miliput (pre-greenstuff days).

But the most frustrating model has to be the original Balrog from the '80s LOTR collection. It was a beast of a model and I hadn't heard of pinning so just slabbed on the Araldite, but the damned joints wouldn't hold no matter what I did. Ended up swapping the model for a Wood Elf Prince riding a Dragon that I was going to convert for my Empire army, still got it somewhere, but wish I could get the Balrog back. For all its faults it was a glorious model (or at least the version on the box was!).

I hate all metal models with a passion. This goes doubly for the metal grots. Worst idea in history. Why would you only make 5 or so different versions of something which is typicly fielded in units of 30? I'm glad they switched to plastic before I had completed my unit.

Also, the instructions for the Ork Trukk tell you to put the guys in after the rest of the trukk is put together. Problem is that at that point there is no room to put the steering wheel and such in. Christ that was infurating.

Yes I should have read the instructions.

Mine has come apart a few times (I think I have it together good this time though. No disasters yet)

But those Horns and the Stikkbomb Chukkas, not only will they not stay on but they look absurda at least the horns do. I just left those off.

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.
