The worst for me was the basilisk. I put one together about.... 8 years ago (dunno if it has changed) but the instructions were vague at best, and I pretty much would have half of it done, before realizing it was put together wrong lol. That was a righteous pain in the ass.

Other then that, I always hated the oldschool rhinos. They were literally made, to not EVER go together evenly

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I've never had to suffer through a Thunderfire cannon, but the little track links on any IG tank drive me up the wall. I had two Chimeras that werent even primered or painted for about two months just because I kept putting off putting tracks on em. There's ALWAYS a gap...

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

Though ,I have a hunch its my glue.

Arms are prickly, a bit heavy (He's basically doing the wingspan thing, so theres a lot of protruding weight) so i've had to keep his arms held up using my fingers waiting for my crappy Super glue to set in. I would pin him but I don't have the proper materials and supplies to do so.

That and theres very little to keep his little... Rack/headbanner thing or whatever its called that he has on his back. Its just a tiny bump.

I think they should make metal models a lot like the snap fits that they have for orks. Would be a lot less of a headache just to assemble.

I wound up just using epoxy and had done with it. Tucked some other minis of appropriate height underneath to support while the epoxy set and let it set overnight.

Pin them, period. Then green stuff around the joints. Or just use green stuff as the primary adhesive for the pinned joint.

Wow, only 1 other player here has had the joy of the Hellcannon? Crying shame, everything else is a lightweight in the "who the hell came up with this model" category. So the joy of the Hellcannon is as follows:

-It has no instructions
-I've assembled 2 and both barrels were bowed out
-They have wierd tabs and slots meant to help the barrels fit, but because of the bowing these asctually make it far worse
-It has 29 pieces 8 of which are wheels that have to go in a precise order to overlap properly
-In order to get full paint coverage it has to be painted prior to assembly otherwise you can't get to everything
-And best of all, there is 1, count it 1, official picture of a hellcannon (it comes in a generic direct only box), that you have to use to figure the damn thing out

I had about 6 parts left over that I never figured out where the hell they were supposed to go.

I had no problem with the Crisis suits. I also have them flying in the air. To me the real pain is the War Walkers. Each leg is seperate and each foot is adjustable. Makes it very diffucult to get it to stand straight up. After putting three together I am still not happy with the results.

The new plactis LRC is eazy to put together. At least for me.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

NO the old school metal speeder always gave me troouble, and a few of the newer speeders too.
Any forge world model that comes from a hot warehouse( were it warps the resin). BUt the metal speeder, that was a slug of metal... Metal Chaos Dread too...

1. Thunderfire Cannon
2. Monolith (hard to lap the sides)
3. oldschool LandSpeeder
4. Techmarine (the 5 part servoharness)
5. metal tankbustas (oh my gawd!)

but the WORST ive ever assembled was from.... Citadel miniatures???? a Dragon with dwarf rider and hanging basket (with 2 dwarfs)... called "the winds over Valhalla"

IT SUCKED!!!! end result was great tho.... the dragons body "hovered" 4 inches off a "V" shaped base thanks to 3 metal rods attached to em. The "gondola" hung by small chains. Wish I could find it again.....

QFT. The original rhinos were guarenteed to end up with glue covered fingers and huge gaps in the chassis. Though I can top that with the original metal Landspeeder, I've recent disassembled one I did first time around and I'm still not sure if I've got all the bits right (hollow engines covered by seats that don't quite fit over them).

I'd also have to say I think I hate everything about the Necron Monolith. Perfectly rigid when assembled but stupidly fiddly to get it there in the first place. That combined with the fact that it used a gallon of my paints and washes to get it covered and the fact that carrying it by the big protuberance at the top which snapped off scattering parts across my floor, means that this model is high on my list of seriously evil kits.

One word. Exorcist. The metal top part is difficult to construct, the pieces, made of metal, are generally warped, it comes with no instructions, no pictures on the box, and, unless you want it to come apart constantly, needs to be pinned together.

I have this as well!

I haven't finished mine. But just putting the barrel together was a massive, massive pain though I think it's downhill from now on.

I'm ok with pinning wrists; I did it on several characters and if you're careful it works quite well so the Chaos Dwarf with the shovel was reasonably easy to do.

But large flat pieces that don't go together are another story. The main problem is the bits just don't fit right, there's this kit and the Chaos Chariot.

Though I have assembled many difficult kits in my time Lich Lord Terminus from PP was the worst. The character and fluff were so cool and as a player I was really excited, but honestly looking back on it the kit just wasn't worth the stress. Bottom line: If you are casting a metal model use less parts and for the love of god make pegs for things. The spikes on the wings were all seperate pieces?!?! Why? What is the perceived value of that besides wasting my time. When I see a metal model that lacks a peg or post I am very put off. This actually reminds me of another kit... Warhead 2 from Dark Age games. I had to sculpt on an entire shoulder. The parts fit was that bad.

Probably work

Chimeras are painful, but by far the most annoying thing I've ever put together is Inquisitor Lord Karamazov. His lazy-boy is tons of pieces and unless you feel like pinning every joint, he falls apart first time he is bumped.

Most annoying to assemble?

Aha it has to be Exorcist.

I have assembled every hard to assemble mini and they are still in one piece.

However, I couldn't assemble Rhino properly so that doesn't prove anything...

the first (only?) krootox was by far the worst gw model i ever touched. it shouldnt have been hard but it was so poorly made none of the parts fit together correctly.
the most difficult that was made well was the warmachine general nemo model that had 5 pieces for the head, shoulders, backpack, and body that all had to go together in a very specific way that had to be done almost all at once. his arms were easy to add on at least.

WH Penitent Engine was the worst thing I made, even with pinning it was still weak as hell and far too top heavy.

Closely followed by the hurricane bolters on the LRC, I can't remember how many times I nearly threw the damned thing against the wall

Venerable dreadnought, although not tricky to assemble the two halves of the body just refused to align properly making an already ridiculous looking model even worse.

Also the FW Marauder bomber was a total bitch to get the parts to line up.

Greater Daemon of Khorne, the bloodthirster, you need to pin that the wings on that model model so many times it isn't funny.

Grey Knight terminators because trying to get all the shields and arms to stick will cause your eyes to burn from all the superglue you use.

The Defiler's legs are sort of a pain in the ass, since the two parts don't lay flat against each other.

That's the biggest annoyance I've had to deal with so far

I've heard the Dwarf Gyrocopter is pretty bad/fiddly. The worst trouble I've had is with conversions, namely my aspect wraithlords. They're the old metal ones and chopping them up to bung them back together in new, different ways is a pain in the tuckus.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

For the lazy, it basically involves cutting up the raider to make room for the middle bits.... then pinning all the metal to plastic connections, and finally attaching it to a sliver thin flying base.... God forbid it falls off it...
