Some things you all are forgetting. While it is true that the heavy tanks are made in Michigan we make the high tech fighter jets in the south. And the Naval shipyards are in both the North east(Maine) and South(Virginia).
So we could just send our F-22's and JSF's to take out your Abrams and ships!!

Meanwhile, every political group has it's wingnut fringe, which is why the 'look at this crazy he makes your whole political faction illegitimate' is a losing game - the other mob will just go and find some of your crazies. The issue of substance is whether the core of a movement is crazy. That's a pretty solid charge to level at the Tea Party.

I dont think that photo comparison was very fair, but to tell you the truth, all those conservative 'hotties' kind of look like plastic barbie dolls with way too much hair maintenance going on. Not hot. Gimme a chick in a leather 'misfits' jacket with a mohawk and a sports bra going to a protest any day.
Something tells me those leather-clad rock women don't vote republican...
Hey if you like frumpy soccer moms and ogres (that's what I call the morbidly obese ladies out here in the country with 5 snot nosed kids and a plastic jesus on their dashboard, you run into them at walmarts across small towns everywhere, they vote republican because they love Jesus, hate black people, or something like that) then I guess we just have differences of opinion of what constitutes 'hot'.

I'm pretty sure most american citizens have high school degrees or ged equivalents (most being 51%+). By that same "logic" most people fail courses that they are clearly bad at .

Well, I don't think my high school graduation status is really an issue here frazzled... Just a different taste in what constitutes 'hot' I suppose. I didn't take offense to what you said, I am proud to be an eternal child, and my gutterpunk background gives me different standards than the next guy I guess.
So anyhoo, someone can bring up that Leann Rimes is a conservative and someone else can say "yeah well the dixie chicks are liberal" and so on. We can go comparing celebrities forever but it is kind of not the point.
I thought before this whole thing got derailed into taste in women and high school kids (there are plenty of other websites for that) the conversation was something about what teapartiers hope to achieve with such a threat of an active anti-federal militia. They can't hope to actually win an armed conflict so what is the point? SHOUTING just to be heard.
I understand the frustration people have that they aren't really heard, and feel they are having their money taken in taxes and spent on things they don't want or need... but to put it in perspective, I DON'T HAVE KIDS SO I DON'T WANT TO PAY MY LOCAL TAXES FOR YOUR SNOT NOSED RUG RATS AND THEIR STUPID SCHOOL EITHER! AND I'M SHOUTING SO YOU HAVE TO LISTEN BECAUSE I HAVE A RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS! WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR YOUR SCHOOLS! GOVERNMENT GET OUT OF MY LIFE!
Now of course I do pay my taxes, but that is the nature of taxes. Not everyone benefits specifically from every government program, but we all benefit as a whole and those in charge do their best to use our money wisely for the good of the population in general.
Opposing tax increase is a virtue of the shortsightedly selfish. Discussing how those taxes are used for the benefit of everyone who chips in, as best as possible, is a more sensible way of approaching it. I don't own a car, for instance, but I still pay just like everyone else for highway maintenance. Because it's a good thing to have highways even if I am not using them. No highways = no shipping = hunter gatherer local communities. See?
Same goes for health insurance, schools, military... none of which I need personally, but all of which I respect the value of a society's needs, and know that there are some things that benefit me out of it (I don't want you kids to be uneducated idiots for instance, because stupid kids bug the hell out of me).
Oh yeah Frazzled, I'm only 13 too, right?

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.
I am Red/White Take The Magic Dual Colour Test - Beta today! Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly. |
