@ Disjointed entity: Yes it wasn't bad, It wasn't as good as last year though, but it was still very worth visiting. It's been my 2nd year I been there.

Yeah I know what you mean. Had a few shows like that this year. Like Military Mayhem that was ... a little dissapointing. Very low turnout. Only our group and one other! Madness.

OK.. here are some WIP shots of the BaneBlade. Looking at these photos, I think I've made the command stripes at the side of it too dirty and weathered... as its almost the colour of rest of tank.. then the command stripes on turret are really bright... do you guys like the bright or weathered white? should I change the lightness of turret stripes to match side colour or add more white to side stripes so they match turret?

I would suggest bringing both whites to a happy medium, still white but weathered. I have to admit I would not have realised that was white unless you pointed it out! (on the side of the tank obviously)

Looks awesome though, very lucky find sir!!

Think it was also light and camera angle which made it look even less white.. will try and workout a happy medium.... more pics later!

another WIP... The flash is bad in this pic so colours look weird but its late... better ones soon..

I think they looked alright in the first photo. The White border stripes looked fine, maybe the single on the Barrel looked a little dirtier, but in reailty that would get caked in blowback from the gun.

So I reckon it looks fine.

just a few WIP shots of the Krieg... adding the mud to troops and working on tank weathering. Managed to brighten the command markings and make a little poster for the back... very fitting words for the Death Korps me thinks...

My almost done first squad. Been busy and didn't have much time to work on them but put in a few hours yesterday and today and they are almost done
Oh and another pic of 3 Engineers that I'm working on next...

not YET its on the list sir! Next purchase will be a squad of heavy weapons.. Then I'm thinking about trying out the gorgon split troops idea

Its actually printed out in very small font from PC... then cut out and covered in pva glue.. a thick coat on back and VERY thin coat on front so doesn't cover writing... then when dry take some brown washes to it The pic that shows it above was when I was just laying it in place to test... now its attached and made to look weathered... more pics soon...

Oh and on a scary note, I awoke the other day to my GF cursing loudly... ran in the living room to see what what wrong.... SHE DROPPED THE BANEBLADE!!!!?!!?! It hit a heater and the turret fell apart... lucky I put this back together and the only casualty was the stubber on the turret which smashed to bits..... shes ordered me a new one! Everything is fine and glued back together... but wasn't the best start to the day!

Nice work on the Baneblade so far. Really like the poster, that´s a nice detail.

Good thing that the Baneblade was okay, and that your GF didn´t break down totally when she dropped it.
I remember reading a while back, that someones GF had accidentally made his miniature shelving unit collapse, destroying thousands of points of beautifully painted and converted stuff... He says that she had actually packed her bags when he came home.....!
Needless to say, he was so moved by her reaction that he just started laughing.. And of course didn´t make her leave for something like that.

Anyways, back on topic, I really like the feel that you have going, it´s really gritty and dark, which looks great for these models.

I need to start painting again.......

Thanks Xanthos she was really upset... the reason she touched it in the first place is because she wanted to show it off to friends and family in Germany via webcam... and when picking up she thought the turret was attached (I didn't glue in place as I wanted to move it and make it easy to transport) so it fell straight out of her hands.... but I have forgiven her now it was just that moment of shock from sleep to rushing in living room not knowing what to expect...

Glad you like the look, wanted to make them look dirty and worn rather than uniforms that are brand new and straight off the coat hanger. Going to make a big order in around a month... going for the Gorgon troops to split, Command HQ and a Heavy Bolter squad (3teams). And I hope to get a few bits this Friday... Will confirm once ordered if I have the cash... so don't want to jinx it now

After I had covered it in PVA glue it dried rock hard and I then stuck it to the tank with more PVA. It looks alot more secure now than when that pic was taken. Should really put that up soon... Basically now I'm done its not going anywhere and is flush against tank

So, my lovely father dropped off a £20 GW voucher... I'm going to put it towards a Basilisk and then get a Forge World Vanaheim Basilisk shield and then some Death Korps Crew... Will post my list for the bigger spend in a few weeks...

Great death korps! Out of interest, what do you think of FW merchandise? I was thinking of getting some DKOK myself but was put off by some bad reviews. (love the mud bases BTW)

they are awseome, only had a couple of issues and FW replaced these in days... I highly recommend them!

Ok, here it is... my Vanaheim Basilisk.. and crew....

Firstly I used one of the three crew as a sergeant for a future squad... so will have two manning the Basilisk and a driver One of the crew has a little conversion, I cut that arm and added a hand with binoculars I had left over from the mounted commissar...

And on a seperate note, I just asked my GF to marry me and she said............. YES!

The Shield part had warped a bit and out of the packet looked awful... but with some hot water I managed to fix it up.
Tomorrow I will prime and begin work on them.

That's not really damage, that's how they are supposed to be. I'm still mourning the belly plate of my macharius, damn thick part, warped so much I couldn't bend it back. More importantly, they broke it!

Anyway, good luck painting, I know you'll do a good job.
