Here are a few more WIP shots of the Krieg. These are WIP so the detail has not been finished and the mud on the bases is a temp colour I put on so I could see if the uniform colours would go with the mud. I was worried that the uniforms were too dark as I washed these with black mixed with brown and needed to see if the mud would make them stand out a bit.. which I think it did. Oh, and the stubber gunner is a slight conversion, instead of having him mounting a rock I smashed this apart and built a wall instead. I think this goes better as in the middle of a fight you don't have time to try and hump a rock!

They are looking very nice!
I happen to be a fan of muted tones and colour in uniforms.

Small Update. A few WIP shots of damage/Weathering on my Grenadier Centaur. This is the first Tank I've painted and also my first attempt at weathering. This is very much WIP and is a long way from finished. The armour cover came warped and chipped from Forgeworld so will require some GS work before I attach it.

I've done a bit more work on the Centaur. Had to do alot of greenstuff work as the top was warped worse than I thought. I've also got the driver and gunner in place. I will post some pics over the next couple of days.

Have you tried dipping the warped bits in hot water and reposing them?
I have a Centaur as well, and the top cover was hideously warped, but it turned out okay after some hot water and careful posing.

It still needed a little GS though, to sit flush.

Oh, and if you think the regular krieg boys are a pain, you should try the grenadiers. Those hellgun cables of theirs need to be individually heated and posed, and then kept with the proper model until you´re ready to attach them. Gahh!

Thanks for the comments Xanthos. I already tried the hot water trick and it improved the shape but it seems more like the lid is just slightly off scale and also damaged. The edge above the windows was cracked and a bit missing and the part with the imp eagle was missing the lower part... basically it looks like a dog has had a good old chew on it. This is the only minor issue I've had with my Korps stuff so far. I've used greenstuff on the effected parts and hope it does a good enough job to hide this. I will post pics soon.

And thanks for the heads up on the Grenadiers, seems like the troubles I've had so far were the easy part!
I'm going to order the Mole Launcher tomorrow. These things are so expensive, I'm going to take it easy for a while buying a little a month and then a big order in October... 4months to go!

More updates as they happen...

Well if it´s broken then it´s a really easy fix. Forgeworld is really cool about replacing parts, it´s one of their better features.

I ordered airfilters and turrets for a few of my tanks tonight, the wallet is hurting, but the tank company is happy.

Nice looking Centaur there. The mud is very nice, looks like it has churned through a lot of gunk to get where it is going.

How about unit markings and such?

I like the look with the Grenadiers in it, left most of mine off for the first one I made. But what you´ve done definitely looks better, more.... Alive? Will have to see when I get it to this point.

It´s really nice to see someone else working on the Krieg models.

Thanks so much Xanthos, I appreciate your comments. I was thinking over unit markings but couldn't decided on one... the one i was toying with was the "standing wolf" above the yellow triangle on the SW sheet: and use this over the red diamond as a background.. any thoughts?

Thanks again, I really love your Death Korps and you work keeps me going

Those might work very well, I hadn´t even considered SW transfers, but that could look excellent.

It looks cool, but not overly "space wolf´y". Good find.

Was looking through my unused SW battle force and found the transfers... and I thought same, Its is a wolf but doesn't really make me think space wolf as much as others...

OK Sir, you convinced me will try this out when I get a sec

I only have one problem with the centaur. With the thick mud up front it looks like it is driving backwards or has something pumping mud onto the treads. The track guards would knock more off of the tracks at that height. the effect its self is great, just in the wrong area.

Thanks for the comment. I know what you mean... Those pics where right after I put a the mud on before finalized things.... the mud actually dries darker and I have to agree with Tim (biginbelgium) it looked like it had taken on a choc cake! Here are some newer pics, are these any better? Any Mud that looks in wrong area could be that as the centaur has come to a stop the bits of mud have not been round to the track guards to be pushed away? *Attempt at a logical cover up*

The side view shows to me the mud is reasonable, it's thick sticky mud but it's not growing. The first pics made it look like the mud was growing. The problem was probably just camera angle.

Right. Now its really really finished... I added some transfers to both sides and worked these to go with the general worn look of the Centaur... I used the SW transfer sheet and the red I originally planned to use didnt look right so I went with the yellow. What do you guys think?

Excellent stuff Regnak. That transfer fits right in! I´d like to see some more angles though, to really enjoy this beauty of a tank.

@indiana1000: I think you´d find that they are way too small for that. The Krieg models are much closer to proper scale than GW´s Imperial Guard models. So thinner, and shorter...
