Nothing beats water.

Soda, due to not drinking it over the course of the last several years, doesn't really taste right to me. Both the sweetness and the carbonation feel strange.

My personal favourite is Ice tea. I know it seems random, but I'm just wondering...

Beer and/or whiskey, depending on the game. For Dark Heresy or Deathwatch, the liquor comes out. For 40k I need my focus.

Sometimes some homebrew mead makes the trip but that's usually for painting.

If only I lived within walking distance of that bar/FLGS I've seen mentioned (or within a reasonable distance, with a DD)... Don't have the opportunity to wargame, really, but D&D with buddies was always accompanied by beer (never played until college, when it was accessible, if not entirely legal).

Painting/modeling is accompanied by whatever is on hand - when I can afford it, I'll enjoy a/several beer(s), simple whiskey cocktail(s) (Old Fashioned or Rob Roy are favorites), gin and tonic(s), or sake. When I can't, I drink coffee, tea, or water, as my alertness/palette/constitution/the weather dictates.

[edit:] For all the assumed Space Wolves players: As much as I enjoy Norse mythology, linguistically I'm an Anglo-Saxonist, so I'll see your mjod and raise you meod. Either way, "Wes Ăľu hal!" *tips glass, since he has yet to begin work, due to the same lack of funds that prevents further wargaming/modeling projects, on a (thoroughly researched and faithfully recreated) drinking horn*

Well, I'm not a teen by any sense of the word, but I'm not really one for alcoholic drinks except in extreme moderation.

At the game store, I go for Coke, Mt. Dew, or Dr. Pepper depending on my mood.
If I'm gaming at home, usually I can go through a gallon of unsweetened iced tea in a marathon session. coffee is something I only drink in the morning, and if I get distracted too much, it gets cold, I hates cold coffee.

I'm noticing a prevalence of alcoholic beverages.

I can't help but picture someone playing 40k after getting hammered back to the stone age.

as for me, anything loaded with caffeine (except starbucks )

I like to drink 40's when I play 40K.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

at the local store, whatever they might have on hand or i stop at the 7-11 and get a double gulp of cherry/vanilla pepsi.

at home, beer. try playing beerhammer. after each can/bottle you empty, you deepstrike that onto the battlefield. same rules as a drop pod. except cans are AV of 8 and open top. Bottles are AV 10 and open top. you place the bottle immediately after finishing it. on your turn or his, at any part of the phase.

nothing as fun as putting that bottle inbetween buildings and watching orks figure out how to get around that alley.

Gotta agree with the starbucks comment, their baristas never make the drinks right. Nordstroms E-bar, Peets Coffee, and whole foods are where I get my coffee fix.
