Ah you mean this dude?

I actually wish I had a few of these for the hell of it. I think I still have a scar on the bottom of my foot from stepping on a bunch of these when my friend had that old box set a million years ago.

Doomrider's paintjob really detracts from the model.

anyway:

+ the entire RT daemon range.

I was going throuigh the models I liked but they ended up being far too numerous to post, so I'll quickly state a few.

Richter Kreugar's Cursed Company, Krell, the old Ghouls and Grave Guard, Thanquol and Boneripper, Grimgor Ironhide, the old Giant, the old Treeman, the new Harlequins, the RT-era Chaos Dreadnought, the RT-era Keeper of Secrets and Lord of Change, the old Genestealer Patriarch on throne, the new Shokk Attack Gun Mek, the RT-era Striking Scorpions, Warp Spiders, GOBLIN DOOM DIVER!!!, the Steam Tank, the Knights Panther, the Squat Land Train, the Tyranid Screamer-Killer, the old Noise Marine, the RT-era Teminator Captain, the fat metal cigar-smoking Cadian Sargeant, the entire 3rd edition Dark Elf range, the Imperator titan, the old Ork Weirdboy with handlers, Madboys, the Eversor and Culexus assassins and against my better judgement, the Ork Scorcha.

No doubt there are a hundred models I liked even more than those listed, but Citadel and Marauder have such a massive back catalogue that thinking about which I like most makes my brain hurt.

I always liked this one. So simple, yet so menacing.

Also, this one:

I have to give it to GW, this was a really easy question for me 5 years ago. Now, there are so many that I think are bloody fantastic, its hard to choose. Even their plastic kits are rating high up there these days.

Oddly, I like nearly every dwarf hero GW produces (and for that matter, nearly every other company's dwarf heroes) but I have no desire at all to collect a dwarf army.

Definitely +1 on some of the ones you mentioned Sirrah, the cigar smoking Cadian and RT Terminators were awesome. And, why yes, the Squat Land train, the direction that Squats would most surely have taken had GW continued to make them in 40k (and the one that Mantic are now looking like pursuing in their Forgefather range).

In fact, I think the whole epic Squat range was something quite special.

Absolutely, it's sad that Squats didn't develop further after Warlords, I'm glad that the Collossus is preserved in a sense by the Leviathan.

Being a fan of Skaven and Imperial Guard, it's quite easy to predict what I'd place here.

For first place, it's a toss up between the Cadian Commander and Boss Snikrot. There's just something about both of them that makes me cry out "Bloody Fantastic!" in an overly dramatic voice every time I see them.

Runner ups are Ikit Claw, because he reminds me of a badass robo-rat, and all commissars, with this Commissar in particular because his arm remind me of a gigantic nintendo power glove.

I love this model, and tbh i thought GW had stopped making it XD

Gonna have to find the cash to get one before they DO stop making it!

And my favourite model from GW is either the Harker or straken model, i love the way the straken model looks like he is just walsing into the thick of things and the harker model is firing wildly XD

Aun Shi has a hideous, long face, body and I have no clue what he's doing with his left hand. I'm not a big fan of the Firewarriors ether.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

You have more than just a passing relationship with that Aun Shi, Space Crusader? Just trying to explain your massively OTT post.

I don't know why but I always loved the slightly esoteric look of the original Grey Knight models

I think this is a picture of the GW ones, if not feel free to correct.

While not the best models they do make the possibility of a cool counts-as Necrons army that is playable in a GW should you have the (mis)fortune of doing so.

As for the best looking I have a few I like though no clear winners. It's quite easy to see why I used spoiler tags, there are a few.
Spoiler:

This is one of the few I just want to get for painting.

Such a tough question, and the answer might change with my mood... but the Terminator Chaplain is definitely a contender, as is the new Lelith Hesperax.

I suppose it depends on your definition of 'affordable'. Certainly, I would say that horde armies have never been more of a strain on a wallet than they are now.

The point is, those orks are Black Reach orks. You can always tell a Black Reach ork from the others by the way their arms are positioned. You can pick them up on Ebay by the bag-load for about $1/model.

Nice, but I kind of prefer the older Stormtrooper models (although just the helmeted ones), for me they look a little more characterful and varied from the standard Cadian pattern.
