Probably the best idea to get them. That is assuming you don't want to buy a ton of tactical squads.

I doubt it. My army set up for each section is this:

HQ:

Librarian

Either Pedro Kantor, or a Captain with a Command Squad w/ a Razorback

ELITES:

Dreadnought (maybe with a drop pod)

Sternguard (with a Razorback)

If Sternguard aren't taken, then probably another Dreadnought.

Terminators (10) w/ Land Raider

TROOPS

x4 Tactical Squads (10 per squad) w/ Rhinos

x2 (10) Scout Sniper Squads

FAST ATTACK:

This section is undecided, I may go either Bikes, Land Speeders, or Assault Marines.

Heavy Support

x2 Predators

Missile Dev squad (10)

Do you really need that many sniper rifle scouts.

True. I guess I honestly don't, but they are cheap options for when I want to run lots of high point units like Terminators and such.

Is this the list when its going to be 2500 points.

Well, we have talked about 3000pts in later posts. It'll only ever get this big if I have enough room/time/money.

750pts of Orks (maybe 1000)

750pts of Tyranids
1000pts of Eldar
2500pts of BT (almost finished)
2000pts of DA (almost done)
Maybe 1000pts of BA
1500-2000pts of CSM
1000pts of Grey Knights

God, I have too many armies planned I feel bad about it

I'm trying to find the cheapest ways of getting these armies. I mean, I already got about a good... 1000-1250ish points of High elves for $95. I'll stop at 1500, then later continue on if I like the army alot.

I'm assuming your using online stores and the like for this sort of thing.

Well, I actually got that from someone here on Dakka who was wondering if I was interested in buying his army But I might use a few online stores to save a few bucks.

I generally use online stores, occasionally buying full armies. Games-workshop prices are to expensive, so I buy everything online. I do occasionaly buy things with gift vouchers or blisters in store, but that's about it.

I buy a majority from the store, but I think i definitely need to look others places now.

In Australia, the prices are nearly double of anywhere else in the world, so its essential for me to buy online.

Still, the games enjoyble enough to continue playing despite the prices.

Same, they only stopped me from buying in store (most of the time). I'm still going to be hobbying for many years.

Same here. Even when I have a family, I'll keep doing it. Plus, my current girlfriend loves Warhammer too, so maybe our kids will as well! I hope so at least!

I'm still iffy about running Pedro Kantor and Sternguard. Sure, it's a good setup, but I don't know it's its the best choice for my last HQ and Elite Slots.

Well, I'm wondering, is he a good choice, points wise. Or should I get a command squad with plasma guns and a captain?

Also, finally finishing my DA and CSM, and starting my Alpha Legion all tomorrow!

I am personally not a fan of command squad's, though I do use a converted honour guard with Pedrofor the power swords and higher intiative.

I can see them plasmagunning down units pretty easy, considering they also get FNP from the Apothecary

Yeah, but for that sort of thing I think the sternguard to just as well with roles such as that.

I think it depends on how many points I have/importance of another unit taking up that last elites slot.

Yeah, I suppose since the command squad doesn't take up any FOC spaces.

And I think it might be cheaper than Pedro + 5 sternguard in a razorback

Too bad it doesn't come with an orbitial bombardment or the command squad doesn't count as a scoring unit.

Yeah, the Sternguard + Pedro definitely have that benefit. Which makes it viable, but it's gonna be a lot of points. I'm guess around 350+
