If you do dreadnought list, I am assumign you would use a MOTF

That's pretty much a requirement for a Dreadnought Heavy List. I won't run one (with this army), but it's an idea I'll keep in mind for the future.

I haven't tried dreadnought heavy before and haven't versed any, so can't really say what's best for them.
The only real dreadnought action I see lately are either black reach dread's or double heavy flamer dread's in drop pods.

I've tried using three ven's. It's hard, because you have a slow moving army, and you spend lots of points on your Dreads unless you take the stereotype Assault on black reach dread.

What about drop pod's.

Depends on the variant of Dread IMO. If you wanna drop in a Dread for fire support later, use one to bring in a rifleman. If you have an Ironclad, a Drop Pod is a must.

I haven't tried an ironclad dreadnought yet, are they any good?

They're scary in CQC, but even then there are units that can still smash them in CC. They're definitely not slouches though. A great CC unit if you want to use it.

I think I will get one.

They're very nice additions to any army, and a MOTF army with three of those and three Venerables is scary.

What do you equip your MOTF's with.

Usually a Conversion Beamer and a Bike. A Conversion beamer is a Heavy weapon, so throwing him on a bike makes him Relentless. Either that, or throw him in a squad with whatever you see fit.

Never thought of putting him on a bike for relentless. That's a great idea. Wghen I used to use them, I just had them with a servo-harness.

Yeah, and it's only 155pts Not all that bad. Servo Harnesses aren't a bad idea either. It gives you a few powerfist attacks, plus a TL plasma pistol and a flamer.

Not many h.q's have a flmaer, and it helped me out alot.

Flamers can be very helpful. Especially if you stick it with a squad that needs the close range support and CC support.

Like a squad of servitors with heavy weapons.

Servitors are kinda iffy. They can be useful, but IMHO, I would only buy them if everything else I had was upgraded and I had a few points left over.

That's pretty much what I used them as, points filler when I had my scout army. It helped having a counter attack unit with power fists.

A scout army? How did that work out for you?

It works well until your enemy gets within 12 inches. Then your done for.

Yeah, I know how that is sometimes, it's annoying as hell.

Still working on the actual models and such. If I do Sternguard, do you think Forgeworld armor sets would make them look fancier?

Forge world automatically makes your models look more fancy. It all depends on if you want a pre-heresy look or not.

I kind of do, but I've also always liked the concept of pre-heresy armor being mixed in with the "current" SM armor as well.

There are actually some space marine chapters that have that kind of look. So, yes, I would get the fancy forge world sets.

The only problem would be making 3-7 Combi Meltas (depending on the numbers I take)

I like loading my sternguard with combi-melta's, but I have problems with the fact their is only one in each kit. I now convert melta guns into combi-melta's.

I need to buy quite a few melta guns online, as I need a few for my DA and my Alpha Legion.

Yeah, I'm npt sure if they sell mass kits, special weapons sprues or anythign else like that.

Sadly, GW doesn't. But I know a few bit stores that do, so I'll go with that. Plus, Chapterhouse has that Combi Weapon set.
