@ Deadmeat85, Gitsplitta, Gorgrimm, and Freytag93 Those are all very good ideas and I think I'll do just that...a Big glif on the bed of the truck and some boot/foot prints as well. As for each squad having their own...well I think I'll just stick with the one I have been using (i Like it) I think it's about the right size for the job and will break up all that red nicely.

@Young_Logan Well thank you, but I don't think you'll be able to say "EVERYTHING has happened" ...for quite some time. I still have a long to do list. And that's just for this army, not to mention my LoTD, and Necrons.


Well it's been a little bit since I have posted any type of updates here...not that I have not been busy though... Both personal life, and painting. Though, I have no progress to speak of on any of my trucks.

With my mother visiting I did not want to pull the trukks out to work on them. With all the running around we did all over Spain I just didn't have the time or option. However I did some work on some smaller things

Oh and (thank you my sweet wife for giving me a much bigger project to do) No picks yet on that one.



Well without further ado.











Had this guy that needed some touch up and more work done too.









Then I pulled the next guy out to work on... Now many of you may or may not have noticed. But I have a few War Bosses...like 4 that were finished and 3 that were not...now 2 that are not. Anyway one that I have wanted was a Warboss in Mega Armor that wasn't just a Ghazghkull Thraka (I have him to left to paint). Anyway I started out with a metal ghazghkull thraka mini and made this.









Then I put him in the case next to my MANZ and then I had to take them out...

Ya see with a few trips in the mail...from Japan to the States, then from there to Spain they got a bit beat up and in need of some TLC...not to mention in my advances in painting them... But that wasn't all. When I put the new War Boss next to them he towered over them...they all looked like normal boys standing next to him. I had a plan for them for a while now so It was time to do it...

He's still quite big but now it's more balanced at least. Just wait till I get ghazghkull thraka all put together He'll be even bigger His stuff is in the mail so I might work on him soon enough.


If what my Loving wife got me don't distract me to much...She picked up the realm of Battle board for me I have filled in the skull pit and plan on a few things for it...I'll post that some other time though...

Great job on that character (snickrot?). He looks to be painted in a very different style than the rest... what made you go that way?

Really nice job refurbishing the MANZ. I'm constantly saving old models, or other peoples models... I can really appreciate the effort and they look great now.

Well Gitsplitta He does look a bit different that what ur used to from me as he has very little red on him.


However (story time)..

Well before I moved here to Spain I didn't have any type of army paint scheme going on. No main colors planed or anything.

Before I moved to Spain I didn't have any vehicles painted either. (The main reason for that is I had been only painting with a brush before that and I didn't want to do that to a large vehicle and end up leaving brush streaks).

Then all that changed, before I left Japan I bought a air brush didn't use it and then packed it up and moved to Spain. Then it all sat for about seven months before I got back to painting.

I started with my first trukk... of course red ones go fasta so the choice was obvious. (But I had to work on it as I didn't want a bright red one looking like a clown car). Once that was worked out, the rest of the vehicles followed suit. And well, now my army has a main paint scheme...




But. As I said before. Before Spain I didn't have vehicles painted. I had a lot of boyz painted though.
While I in Japan I painted some more of my boyz.

Mhh... seeing this I have to look at em again and see if I ever filled in those gaps in the arms...

And then finally a AoBR warboss...then I moved to Spain



As you can see I made some progress in different techniques.

Well that's the Orks I did while in Japan. These were all done while I was on a my last deployment there.

While there in Japan at home I manly focused on my LoTD.

Then we move here to Spain and I started to use the airbrush and have focused on my vehicles so now my army has it's own color scheme now and a new Glif too


So steping back a bit and working on my Boys the only ones that I had that followed any type of scheme was my MANZ and that's kind of obvious as to why they did.

All my other boys are all missmatched with no one color being there main color and that's how they will stay

As for the one with the Choppa he's a forgeworld Kommando Nob.

@Gitsplitta NP Gits part of any good blog is a bit of back ground isn't it...

Any way haven't been updating this as much as I'd like. (Been sick, and studying.) But I have managed to get some time to finish off another of my many Warbosses...and working on Ghazghkull atm.

So here they are.













Now having just moded a Ghazghkull mini to make a normal Warboss in mega armor...(seeing as GW has seen fit to not make one of there own) that is probably the easiest way to go about making one of your own.

Only one small problem... Now ya got to mod Ghazghkull because you can't have a normal Warboss in mega armor looking better than Ghazghkull right...

So here he is with a bit more work to be done on him. Then painting.



Got another Ammo hopper otw...hopefully it gets here tomorrow.


Had a cape from a FW mini I got (to use as my LoTD chapter master) didn't want to use it on him and thought this would be a good place for it.


Well that's it for now I should have him done soonish got a few things for him coming in the mail so he's got to wait for that to arrive.

But I have allot more to work on not including him so that shouldn't stop me from doing something at least.

Like the nob, and your ghazzy conversion is really looking good! The dread/kan bits on him work really well.

Sorry Gits but that's a Warboss too...
Guess I should include a nob next to him to compare the size to. He's pretty big.

Well I haven't been "that busy" with any of my 40k stuff but I have made some progress at least.

I am about done w/ my EIDW, took the test already and have my board this week. So I should be all finished latter this week, and not have to worry about that anymore. Next week is the advancement test So I do have more studding to do though. But after that I should have the paints I ordered and be able to start my next 40k projects...Well not really start since I already did that.

Here are my plans...starting with getting back to and finishing this big bad boy...

Yup. since Ouze has finished his up it's about time I finished mine as well ...and I want to finish mine before Wazzoo finishes his Battleship

Once that's finished I'm going to be finishing the weathering on these too...


Once all that is done I think I'll be a bit burnt out on my Orks. Seeing as I'm starting to now anyway. But I want to finish those as well as at least Ghazgkull maybe a few more of the Warbosses I have before it sets in fully.

Once those are all done, I do have other stuff that needs some lovin of their own. That’s what I ordered the paints for….

Got a bit more for my Necron's and have put a Spider and a Doom scythe together. Still have another Doom scythe to put together as well as some Wraiths.

I have a few Immortals to save (had a bunch of old ones that I'm moding w/ the newer guns).

I also have some old pariahs that I’m going to convert to Lychguard (going to give these ones the war scyths) and I have 10 new ones that will have the shield/swords.

Oh and did I mention I have a whole battle force sitting in there box still...

So once those are all put together…well minus the battle force (don’t need that right anyway as I have one already finished…then it’ll be paint, paint, paint .

I’m pretty sure once I get started painting the Necrons that they will go rather quickly compared to my Orks anyway.

So that’s where I stand as of right now. Stay tuned for more fun stuff to happen shortly.

Well during that time I haven't touched the vehicle's yet for obvious reasons. But I have managed to finish off Ghazgkull and a Warboss... Here they are





















For the next one I had a bit of help from my daughter she chose some of the colors. I tried a bit of a different technique I don't think I'll do it again took to long didn't make it look that much better imho.











Okay well ya might be expecting some nicely finished Kanz but well in a way they were...long ago. But now they will become another project in my list of things to do. I had these old kanz sitting collecting dust so I picked up some extra parts and plan to update them like I did to one of my Deff Dreads..you all may remember this guy

Oh, and btw what is the color you use for the reds on your deff dreads? I really like how it turned out

Busy boy! Really like the albino squg. That kan turned out great too. Using the skull was a nice touch.

@ sir william the bold Yes I do paint all my orks with different skin tones. I feel that every one is unique. (Just like my wife and I) so the orks should be too. Granted orks being a horde army the way they are means that it takes a lot longer to get them finished but the end result is worth it. As for the red I use it goes like this...

Base coat w/ black, then wet brush w/ boltgun metal, and finally I use my airbrush w/ Vallejo Model Air Scarlet Red. I do 2 coats...fist one has a metallic tone to it from the boltgun metal then the second coat will mute it and give it a dark dirty red tone. That's it

If ya want it brighter add one more coat of red.

Well I didn't start weathering the vehicles yet...though it is out and ready to start.

But I did get some time to paint a bit yesterday. Not finished but a good start on a few things..

All this was just primed except the Monolith. (It was base coated and had a few simple high lights. But it had some damaged guns and I had to repair and smooth the corners, fill gaps etc..) So the green stuff had finished drying yesterday morning before I started.

Buzzgob! Great figure! Is that ork boss FW too?

Yeah he seems a little beat up for me though maybe I got a bad batch but nothing I can't fix myself. As to the Warboss, naw I found it on ebay... he was some fantasy mini (just needed a gun uz well e's a ork) pretty nice kit for $35 had some extras I didn't use.

You did a great job converting it over.

@ Gitz, Thanks man, though it really wasn't mush to convert. Just had to put a gun on him instead of a sword

Well update time...

I haven't done anything on my orks... Well not right now anyway but I plan on it. I did do a whole bunch of fun real life stuff though Some school, work, helping my daughter w/ homework (she's only been speaking English for a little over a year now so homework takes more time than other kids her age), helping a friend move, changing the shocks and struts on my car, fixing the head lights as well...the list goes on and on. I'm amazed I ever get some time to myself to work on these some times...

But I did do some thing, instead of working on my orks though. I did these.



Got the base coat finished as well as most of the highlights. Still a bit more to do on them adding the silver and a few other colors here and there. But they look better than being just primed black.

I wanted to get some color on these before finishing the orks I have planed, because my daughter wants to play a game using the Necrons this time. But she didn't want them to be all black. So now they aren't just black and she's happy...next weekend we'll have a small game.

Now I have that warboss and Buzzgob to finish off next then I plan on finishing the weathering on my battle fortress...well that's the plan anyway...we'll see how that turns out.

You'll really enjoy playing Necrons Den. Great looking army and very functional.

Yeah that they are Gitz. I remember when I first started playing them when they first came out...only had the basic choices and nothing else. HQ, immortals, warriors, destroyers, and scarabs, that was it.

Now you get more choices, and with that the pain of trying to get the most of your money. But I have magnetized both the Night/Doom scythes and the Doomsday/Ghost Ark(that was a pain to do!) I think the only one that they made about 100% user friendly is the Annihilation/Command Barge.

Still though I have my old Pariahs that I'm going to convert to some Lychgaurds w/ war scythes. Bot that shouldn't be to hard

I was thinking of turning mine into Lords (well, some of them).

Well it was only a small detour on my necrons for now. As well as a break from painting all together. Been playing some video games w/ my daughter.

Now back to the orks. Even if it's a small update...

Finished my next latest Warboss, Buzzgrob and crew, as well as a few other grotz I had that needed done.

























Next up is the Battle Fortress's, and the other vehicles that need weathering.... and more Boys... Kanz... Mega Dread... Buggies... The list goes on...

Hmm... Figured that last update would draw a snicker from a certain someone at least...must have been that everyone was more focused on Adepticon...

Anyway I said that I was going to be getting back to weathering My battle Fortress. And I have...just bear in mind I'm going to be taking my time on this since I want to get it right so only a little at a time.

But I have been busy with other stuff too, so it's not really jus ta small update.

I like the mostly metal look of the kans, gives them a unique look compared to what I have seen before.

Wow, you've made a ton of progress.
I really like the bases for your Kans. They give plenty of detail without overpowering the model. I think a lot of people have trouble stopping on that fine line, and you definitely pulled it off with these guys.

@Dr H Thanks, ya know now that you mentioned it you don't really see to many that's mainly bare metal do ya. Didn't really dawn on me about that but it does add a unique flavor to things.

@Freytag93 Thanks but I cant really take the sole credit for the bases, most of them are prefab, I did chose them if that counts, and I have of course modified my fair share of them...
