It's worth noting that Bible Thumping Jesus Freaks can't even hold to their own ideals when it comes to such pledges. Either that, or they get married way too young.

The worst part is that it's the dominant sexual education system in the US. Only 14% of American sexual education classes can be considered 'comprehensive,' the rest focusing almost exclusively on absitinance.

Fun fact, in South Carolina, a teacher can only talk about sex in ways that discourage intercourse (and don't even get me started on gay sex), and emphasize the effects of diseases and infections (but not to talk about actual prevention). And this isn't exclusive to just one state either, sadly.

The scariest part is that none of this abstinence 'education' actually works, and the kids are still having sex. The only difference is that they don't know how to do it safely. Teen pregnancy rates in the US are the highest in the developed world, and it's likely because of such poor education.

I'm thankful to be Canadian. It's a funny juxtaposition. In the US, parents are taking their kids out of sexual orientation classes, while Canadian parents are constantly asking for more and more education for their kids.

Well one thing is, it may be bad, but at least your truthful when you are doing it! because its safe if you are smart in sex. By having pervention of unplanned things. The Texas State Board of Education has a very strong influence on the rest of the country, because of Texas' strong influence on the schoolbook industry.

Granted, My point however was that W was just following in the footsteps of his Father and the Regan administration concerning the instituting (or lack thereof) of any sort of coherent/viable national sex education curriculum for high schools/Jr high.
