TBH Gits, I'm not THAT fond of the helmets BH did for you... But I do love the poses, and the sashimono look great on them !

You guys probably wouldn't notice (why would you?)... but his loin cloth is actually the center piece from the proper centurion loin cloth / tasset set. I've dissected it into 3 different pieces. You'll be seeing one of the other pieces on the next figure.

I'm actually with Yggs. I like the power armor helms, but these seem to far on the bug side of it for me. Then again, I like the stock Centurion kit for he most part.

To each his own. #5 is well on his way & might get done tonight. (you won't like him either)

Purely on aesthetics, I love what you have done. No idea what these guys are in game. I have only breifly looked at the originals and they seemed a bit silly. Yours look more "preportional" to me. I guess you will only have maybe 10 of these guys in an army? Or only 6? Are they a terminator upgrade?

Don't listen to them Gits, I think the helms are fantastic - just wish I had some for my Hornet inspired army

Cam, they are a unit on their own (2 actually, shooty and assaulty). I doubt you'd see more then maybe 6 in a list, they are points heavy.

As I say, from a model stand point, I don't like the standard issue, but Gits take is great, and I don't doubt we will see some other good varients.

From any other point of veiw, I do not get them at all. Whats wrong with a Terminator squad? Or a dreadnought? Don't need a middle ground. Funny enough I get Obliterators, but thats Daemonic posession for you, but these can inside a can and no more shooty, I just don't.

I think it was simply pragmatic. They marines needed something with a bang when the codex came out. I mean what are you gonna do? They're marines... SOSDD. They weren't going to get a MC as the Knight Titan was already in the works... so they had to come up with something else. Something that was irresistibly good and stupid expensive so they could make a ton of money on it. The centurions are what they came up with. They couldn't do anything that was based on a normal marine because AV3 is horse-pucky in the current meta... so they concocted the "marine in a marine" theorem. Consider them GK Paladins with better weapons and worse armor.

I think they look cool, the only part I'm thinking others may not like is the antennae? it might make them a little too 'alien' but that aside it's a great concept and vehicle for your own individuality Gits and I for one want to see them painted! :-) Whaley won't like the giant shark heads i'm doing for his then will he lol......

They look really cool, except where the guys went a bit OTT on their helms with the guy-liner!

One of the most exciting things about this project is that it's actually controversial! I mean the things that I love most about the project (the insect helms and leaving off the extra armor) are the things that others object to. Usually... I think we're pretty much all on-board when it comes to most projects... but to do something that really makes the community split it's opinion is pretty cool.

So thanks everyone for your opinions... both positive and negative. Really has made the time I've spent on these worthwhile!

That’s a good life philosophy. Needs to be amended though. When The Wife is happy, everybody is happy.

I like these guys. The more I see people doing cool things with the cents, the closer I get to picking up a box. Not there yet, but every picture pushes me closer to that side of the fence.

I think the flags turned out amazing. They work well with the helms.

Seriously though the Centurions are all coming along really nicely, they are really characterful and the slightly bigger helm? Well improved comms and tracking devices for all that heavy firepower!

You've inspired me to dust of the marines I was going to try to sell and actually use them as an army again. Oh well. Look forward to following the progress on the Centurions!

I'm very flattered orkboy... and amazed that you piled through the whole blog. Nobody's done that (to my knowledge) in 100 pages or more! Thank you investing that much of your time in my escapades... it's a real honor. I'm hoping you found some good stuff. Keep in mind there are short-cuts to most things in the OP... though it's been a while since I've updated them (granted... it's been a while since I've done anything with my marines too).

I'll begin the last one tonight... then I'll take a pic of the whole squad (or two squads) together. Still need to make/magnetize at least a couple LC/ML sets... but then I'll be ready to get painting!
