Well when you put it like that, it makes sense. I get my Snakebites / Feral Orks mixed up because of how similar they are.
I still think the Klaw should be made of wood or something primitive.

Spent some of yesterday and today painting this scatter terrain. The scrap on the tables isn't stuck down, so when the tables are knocked over to be used for cover they will spill their wares. Pretty happy with the chipped paint work on the tables too.
The votive cog shrine is rusty but it really doesn't look that orange on my desk :-) Waiting to get some brighter yellow paint for the edging which will be hazard striped.
The weathering on the rhino is very subtle as I didn't want it battle damaged. I want to get some sort of stencil to number the rhino on the front indent and rear door.
Now its time to build the accountant servitor and the Tech Priest attendant to the shrine, who are just blue tacked in the first imagine.

Scatter terrain literally Looks great and a clever idea to actually allow movement with the pieces.
It may seem quite a simple idea but is very effective, the rusty cogs look very effective especially the ones on the table I actually thought they were rusty bits you found.
The table scratches have turned out well very authentic have you tried Anarchy models stencils they have a number set that might work for you.

Hey Peter you just put pics onto what I was looking for for my manufactorum : some workshop tables with various contraptions all over the place !
I'll have to steal that idea, if you don't mind... It will help "flesh out" my otherwise quite-empty WIP scenery...
Thanks a lot for the inspiration !!

Cool stuff. I like that there is a (spiky) sand pit for the baby mechanicus to play in while their parents do the shopping.
I like the shrine and the knight head. I think a few awnings would look great, maybe a few signs?

LDD - Thanks. I am really rather happy with the cogs on the table too. Thanks for the Tip about the stencil. I will probably just walk down to my local transport model shop though.
Yggs - Glad I was of assistance. The tables were so easy to make and quick to paint....using the hair spray method to get chipped paint.
MoD - Well JB is painting the main terrain boards....loads of rust apparently. I'm really rather looking forward to seeing it too.
Bruticus - Ha ha its not yellow you bugger! I'm going to bung on a bit of nihilakh oxide now. I agree awnings would look great but I've not got time/inclination at the moment. Want to get this lot finished asap so I can start that Epic new project.
Llamahead - I think its more of the nomads that bring the scrap dealer crap and he rips them off. But I really love the idea of the Antiques road show

RW - Well it all derives from RPG style elements of the games we play. This is not massed combat but story driven skirmish.
Grag - Damn, fair point. This sounds like a modelling challenge!
Mechanicus Savant (Accountant/Cash Register) Athilke-XZ493 and the Votive Shrine's Sponsor - Tech Priest Minoris Ke'dai
or in gray scale
The two NPC characters are ready for undercoating.
I'm so fond of the Savant I may use the game, we're building up to, as a way of recruiting him into my Ordo Malleus Warband. I'm also happy that I got to recycle a failed feral servo skull from the Ygg for his head. His current role is as a cash register...he prints receipts out from the bottom of his backpack :-)
So for years I've been banging on about Zinge Industries' Wire Wrapped Cables and how good they are. Well I still stand by that sentiment. But now I've discovered Green Stuff Industries Tentacle Maker Tool and it is the best hobby tool since clay shapers. Highly recommend it

I wish I got a few more pictures....
Aglea
Aglea (Feral World/Ruined Hive World): Aglea was a prosperous, industrious and stable hive world, with sustainable methods of pollution control that meant the surface was still habitable. When Phrell fell, the Administratum designated Aglea to be the sub-sector capital.Aglea was the capitol world for a thousand years before all its majesty was destroyed in a single night of terror by ruinous cultists. With years of meticulous planning, thousands of cultists struck simultaneously, detonating the clean but unstable reactors in all the planets hive cities; billions perished. The reactor meltdowns were the start of a chain of events that spiralled the world back to a feral state over a period of months. The survivors within the hives rioted in panic, killing each other, looting and pillaging trying to outlive their fellows. Parts of the ruined hives collapsed further, crushing untold number in avalanches of rock and plastcrete. With the poor quality air, food and radiation mass mutation took hold altering pockets of humans to abnormalii. After the catastrophe all that was left were wrecked spires of metal and rock. The fires that had raged over the planet’s surface left ash wastes in their wake. The protectors of the Emperor's realm had failed and the Hive world of Algea was left a crumbing mess. Aglea as it stands today is a feral world where the survivors have taken to living in shanties on the steep sides of the ruined Hives. These communities sprang up for claimers to live in relative safety, from the terrors of the wastes and the abnormalii of the inner hives. The claimers eke out a living reclaiming useful materials from the ruins and selling the material off world.
The central building in the area codenamed ZbZ-echelon-14234 is one of the former residences of Inquisitor Lord Jhon Ba'lance, self declared Excommunicate Traitoris, a villainous Malalanite. The locale has been quarantined by the Inquisition for the last two centuries. It is unremembered why this residence was not destroyed from orbit, like so many of his other holdings.
Alerts have sounds in the Inquisitorial Fortress on Dalthus Prime. Separately and unbeknownst to each other Inquisitors Dante and Hawksmoor have raced to Algea, in the Phrell Subsector. Dante and the Rogue Trader Red Widow wish to gain Ba'Lance's understanding of chaos and any proscribed artefacts hidden within his former stronghold. Hawksmoor wishes to know what breached the quarantine and to re-establish the Wardings.
Inquisitor Hawksmoor has come with a delegation from the Mechanicus, under the leadership of the Tech-Priestess known only as Mother Superior. Hawksmoor has also inducted a squad of guardsman from the Astra Militarum Regiment The Okassian Vth, or, The Most Glorious and Honourable Fifth Regiment of the Imperiale Army of Okassis..
Inquisitor Dante brought with him a dubious ally in the form of Magos Sargon, a dabbler in heretek. He locally hired a group of mercenary Abnormalii to lead him to his prize and to use as a meat shield if required.
Bounty hunter Boris's mutie turn coat Mappo, sniped at the abnormalii advancing towards his employer.
A fire fight erupted between the Abnormalli and the Mechanicus Engine Tsar, hiding behind a downed Arco. When the Arco regained his footing the Abnormalii turned tail and ran. Only to be caught and crushed in the monster's steel claws.
Hawksmoor's inducted guardsman advanced forward towards the objective, supported by Mechanicus Skittarii.
The squad leader and the specialist used an abandoned transport to flank towards the Goliath Class Arco.
From an vantage point Atlas, Human-Xenos Hybrid, laid down a steady fire of inaccurate shots towards the advancing guardsman. Within the building Guilder Hugo, Hawksmoors technician, studied the wall mounted servitor.
The Goliath Class Acro Construct strode forward towards the objective building. The rest of the Mechanicus warband, Magos Sargon. Magos Essenhadden and two Arco-Evisceraters moved in the shadow and cover of the Goliath Class Construct.
Dante and the Mechanicus force moved to take position before storming the building. The Goliath Class Arco took out Guilder Hugo in window with its heavy stubber.
The Acro-Evisceraters and the inducted guardsman clashed in the objective building, the guardsman died to the revving blades. The arco's got the upper hand when Hawksmoor and Mother Superior joined the fight. The combat lasted for a few minutes before the arcos were cut down. While the fighting was happening the Goliath Class Arco Construct inadvertently destroyed a Gella Category storage device - releasing two plague bearers.
Inquisitor Dante decided that his prize was destroyed. He retreated, with his loyal retinue, before Hawksmoor's ire came down upon him. His erstwhile allies were left to fend for themselves.
The Okassian squad leader drove his commandeered vehicle up behind the Goliath Class Arco. His specialist aimed his melta gun at its weak rear armour and immobilised the beast and killing its controller. In return Magos Sargon crushed the squad leader with his power claw.
With the might of the Emperor filling his veins Hawksmoor smashed the disorientated Plaguebearer with his holy relic hammer. Mother Superior destroyed the other with a swipe of her ornate power blade.
