@OMN: Thanks! And no, just beads in the ball and socket joints: plastic, and conveniently pierced, too, (Drillling through such a small rounded piece can be harmful for the fingers, or I hear, )

"Leg" goes into the bore (a bit too wide for the rod, so epoxi glued), quite resistant. The socket is a short slice of plastic tubing, with a couple very thin plastic shavings added inside for extra friction against the ball.

Extreme and blurry close-up:

Fully poseable (yet, )

@Slinky: Thank you!

Cheers!

Entirely believable except the apices on the triangular pieces need to be rounded. A quick bit o work with a file will suffice.

Those feet remind me of how I did the feet for sentinels years ago. I used small wooden beads, drilled them -- without finger injury, mind you -- and round toothpicks inserted into the beads. Many paths to the same destination, eh?

Very good work.

Wow, just missed the a-post-a-month by a couple days. Time flies.

Thanks for the comments, all.

Added the rear support legs, and some details (extra fuel tanks with their supports, towing hooks and cables) here and there.

HARV (Heavy Armoured Recovery Vehicle), in progress:

Lower part is basically done, nest stage, whenever that may be, will be an extending crane/grabbing arm of sorts on top.

Don't hold your breath, though,

Thanks for still stopping by.

It seems to be once-a-month post time again!

After priming, rescue tank went on hold until I decide what to do with the superstructure (planning never went further the "some sort or crane or grabbing arm" stage)

Took some vacation time too, and catching up with real life after some days off has taken up most of my time recently. Need to get my priorities straight once and for all.

But I have gotten a little done, on the side: a saw, a pair of lead bodies and extra bits from the Ogryn/Bullgryn kit, and two extra heavy hitting Auxilia are on the way.

Choppin' 'n dicin'

Detail and overall quality in faces and hands were a bit lacking, so those had to go.

Patching things up:

New head, repositioned right arm, and swapped left arm, with shield grip. Shields are magnetized, so both the small or the slab versions remain an option.

A bit more involved on the second try, new head again, both arms replaced at the wrist, one to hold a maul, the other one, for the shield grip again, also magnetized. And rebuilt the chopped-off gun with a new handgrip, and slung it to his back.

On to priming!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS: Thanks!

@Red H: Tools and luggage will be added. Scale-model stuff is a no go along heroic 28mm, so I'll try to make some to mount all around.

@OMN: No magic involved. If I had any, I would have spent it already on getting all these painted by themselves!

@JMMelo: Hey, great to see you still around! And thanks!

@Red H: Thank you. I'm not making any promises, but hoping it's before that!

Managed to temporarily remove the slinged gun (What was I thinking when I hung it there, perfectly blocking any possible attempt at painting the back?), primed in white and gave both a preemptive black wash.

Most hobbying I've done during the week in ages,

Cheers!

@Dr H: Ready for a riot, yes. But on which side?

@monkeytroll: Long time no see! Great to have you around again! I knew the extra legs would earn some credit points!

@graven: Thanks a lot! A bit more to see below.

I'd usually would not post such a partial (for not saying meager, ) advance, but really happy since, after setting priorities straight on the weekend, I did get to put some paint on these two.

Clothing and strapings mostly done, armour and other metallic bits on the way:

Australia is a dangerous place, really.

A bi-weekly schedule now? I approve. The red gun reminds me of the way weapons used to be painted BITD. Cadians had red lasguns, IIRC, and some Marine Chapters had red bolters.

Nicely done. I like the larger shield. It has a scutum-esque quality.

Yep, still loving those swappable shields. Nice job.

I'd be tempted to scuff the shields up a bit more, but then I love to see the dirt and grime.

@Red H: Not only bi-weekly, thereĀ“s two painted miniatures in there too, mind you!

I thought the massive red guns and shields would contrast well with the darker, grimmer visage of the "normal" troopers (if I ever fielded them, that is, ) Ogryns already have some of a caricaturesque look, that can bear brighter colours better, I'd say.

@monkeytroll: Thanks! Torn about the grittier shield issue myself. They could surely use some more scuffing, but I also like how the bright red came out, and couldn't make myself scratch it further!

Done, and ready for a stare contest:

Cheers!

Cejas? Good work on the eyes. Ogryn so dumb he wears his CPAP while awake.

Good call leaving the shield nice. Ogryns are not gentle with their gear so it makes sense they would get new shields on a frequent basis.
