Wow, I didn't know people thought so little of BoLS, but even in the case where they just take stuff from the forums-it is nice to not wade through 10 pages of gak to get to the meat.

Okay, so I'm an idiot because I don't buy your all encompassing conspiracy theory? Sure these factors affect the decision making of their corporate guys who have probably never played the game, but I don't buy the absoluteness of that. And it's just as likely that I'm taking you out of context and that you're not saying it is absolute, but merely a factor. In which case I agree-I am an idiot!

I don't think little of BoLS - I go there almost every other day to find the news out. They're a great place for 'headlines' (ie. finding the useful crap that gets drowned in Warseer static) and for pretty pictures of nice campaigns. I don't pay that much attention to their tactics because they tend to read like White Dwarf "Everything is equally useful and valid!" style articles, but beyond that minor point, it's a good site.

This will not be discussed here. It is off-topic and I will not be draw into it to derail this thread. I am quite happy to spar with you over PM however.

Whoa!! Easy fellows.. LOL!! Personally I like all of the various forum/boards. ALL of them, occasionally have information which doesn't quite pan out (or is blatantly wrong), but we all still read it, get excited and have fantasies involving our newest UNBEATABLE strategy involving whatever new, shiny thingy that was mentioned.

PS. As far as having 4 marine armies - Each plays differently (Wolves, Scars, Dark Angels, Templars) and it gives me an excuse to paint - A LOT!! LOL!!

As with the guard list, you can see that they make new "better" miniatures to sell new miniatures. But really to say it is to such an extent as what you seem to, doesn't really explain Chaos Spawn, the new Daemon army, Possessed and grots....

I don't think it is an all encompassing conspiracy, as I don't see much really that overboard in the guard list so far. But yes, they are a miniature company.

I really don't think they need allow you to field 4 Valkyrie to make me buy that many. I already have 2 and can only use them in Apoc, they just look that cool. Make cool toys, and even if they have bad rules some people will still buy them. Just making so many options will open that flood gate. The leman russ is a case in point.

Same with anything they put out for Planet Strike. Make cool buildings, we will buy them. Put out a thunderhawk, it doesn't matter what the rules are... we will buy it.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Problem with BoLS is that their "news" is old by the time they post it. "New bits" have been posted in the GW on-line store! Only most of those have been around for a long time now. Plus they need to boot Goatboy, that guy is soooo great and dandy with his advice columns.

I have no desire what-so-ever to play Space Marines.

But I will buy a Thunderhawk.
