For the skin, why not try a reptilian scale type skin? Or go for animal patterns.

Neat But do you have pics? How would a person go about painting scales? I was originally thinking just blending purple to a paler elf flesh/white (kinda like a strung out coke fiend) but that's cool if you had any examples.

If you're looking to go with a sort of pale, washed out, slightly off-color skin you might look at the daemonhost and Solomon Lok models in Molotov's INQ28 thread, here:

I believe their flesh is built up with layers and washes over a base coat of very light gray, but I'm not 100% positive. I think he explains a bit of his method in the thread, though. Adding a tiny bit of pink or purple to that tone might suit your purposes perfectly!

Hmm been a while since i posted on this forum, 5 months or more i think, and stumble upon a chaos daemons blog. (I iz a chaos daemon player myself.) The stuff you are painting looks good for someone who painted the first time. And you have the same liking for pink as i do with blue, (Tzeentch) i suggest you make pink bloodletters! i made my bloodletters bright blue. lol. But still diggin the paint on the daemons.

the glossy look is just done through flat paints lol, decided to not use any metallic paint.
Didnt come out how i wanted, but fine for now i guess.

Me thinks they will just rot, that is until new nids come out, then i guess ill be back to them (possibly my 20th or so nid army? lol)

So either pure white / light grey tones, or variations of pinks, light blues and purple hues should work well.

Making a daemons princess isnt that hard
There are some good base models in the GW range.

So, you put it in an arm joint, and it runs through the whole model in a few seconds.
So yea, this glue is gak, but i got no other option lol.

I think ill stick with my earlier post on colour suggestions for it.

Failing that, black armour with extreme purple highlights.
A pretty pure white skin tone with a light pink wash, then white highlights.
So the skin is pure white with a tinge of pink in the recesses.

For the scales I am not sure how to paint them up to be honest. You could look at some snake pictures and get an idea from that maybe. Of course the trick with scales is getting the texture of them. So maybe a little greenstuff? Also you can greenstuff hair/fur and paint that in the animal patterns. I think some zebra stripes would look neat on a deamon prince.

I won't be doing a daemon princess for this one, cause I think the only way to do it would be to sculpt boobs on it - and while I'm not worried about the funny looks, I was going to do this for a Soulgrinder project later on...

And yeah I've stuck myself together, the first time modelling for me on my bloodletters and I glued my pointer fingers and thumbs together. But I haven't done much since - Metalli gets over-excited and puts all the models together - which I appreciate, cause the daemon prince looked difficult.

The only problem is the armor has top have elements of black/iceblue/and tentacle pink to match my CSM. But the flesh is what im wondering about, or if I could do the flesh pink and blue/ and the armor whatever color.

Drunk is fine - but I'm having a hard time following your and Metalli's convo, and what are squats? I think they discontinued before my time.

And I thought that the Daemon Prince model I have is being updated fairly soon? So it will be oldskool shortly.

Then the next question would be how to make scales with greenstuff? This is an intriguing idea - but I also am limited by these colors blue/pink/black. Which might clash with animal prints.

Need to try and post this clearly now, rather than a garbled mess

Skin:
Basecoat skull white
Wash with watered down tenticle pink and purple (50/50 mix)
Highlight with skull white, leaving the previous mix only in recesses.
Wash again but with watered down skull white and tenticle pink (50/50 again)
Final fine highlight of skull white.

Armour:
Metal edges: Boltgun metal basecoat
Highlight with mithril silver
Wash with purple (2-3 layers to make it fairly dark)
Highlight again with mithril silver
Actual armour: Black basecoat
highlight with liche purple
Final highlight of tenticle pink

Eyes: Basecoat skull white
Wash with tenticle pink
Wash the recesses with liche purple
Paint the eye skull white, leaving the purple / pink edges to it.

Sword: Same as armour trim, but work up the sword leaving more of a metallic silver towards the tip.
Use a purple wash around the runes
Paint the runes skull white

Theres 3 models there lol. (if you can ignore the S&M look of them)
Also, you can grab a set of wings that fit perfect from the morathi Dark elf model

Maybe go with what i posted in my more ledgible painting idea, but use blue washes on the metallic trims, that should help it tie in with the army.

Squats were pretty much space dwarves, but got eaten by the nids, and now dont exist anymore. (kinda like DE soon)

There was talk of the new plastic kit one, but its release date keeps getting pushed back for no reason, so expect that anywhere from a month to a few years away :(


Also, if you dont mind moving away from GW models, a company called ultraforge do some amazing models, and actually have a slaanesh damon

The facial features of it are pretty good, but i think its the horns that really mess it up.
Should just be a case of remove them (2 mins work) and sculpt on hair (5 mins work)
If you wanted to go into detail you could keep the hair flat-ish and swept back and braid the front fringe area to break it up and add detail.
I may buy the model to test it out lol.

Seems like a good enough reason to me.

May not fit your scheme, but could go for a desert DPM style, or if your feeling suicidal, try painting them up in digital ACU.

I like the skull white skin for the DP, but I think we might just do washes - that was what we were considering when the two of us were looking at the DP. She wants kind of a bruised, sallow effect in the eyes and recessed areas. I'm thinking alternating blue, purple, and black washes might do that

I think she's doing the armour on this one like her Slaaneshi CSM, but she can probably speak better on that than I can

I love the ultraforge pleasure demon. I never really considered doing slaanesh demons until seeing it. I really do not like the keeper of secrets that GW produces and the pleasure demon will make a fine replacement. I just can't wait until ultraforge gets some made and in stock. They aren't taking any new orders now as they are bogged down with christmas orders.

I've been trolling through a lot of blogs trying to get some ideas for doing my demons. I'm going to try to do an all slaanesh themed army. I think at 1850 pts. I can squeeze in 2 KOS, 2 squads of fiends, 3 large squads of deamonettes, and 2 soul grinders. I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

I absolutely love your bloodletters. It's nice seeing something Khorne related that isn't by default painted red. My old khorne army from 4th edition was like looking at a red wave marching across the field. I don't think I ever want to paint anything else red again for a long time. I also love the green armor on your skulltaker for the same reason. Your chaos marines are really nice. I love the shade of blue on the shoulder pads. It seems to mesh well with the dirty metal color of the rest of the armor.

Anyway, I hope to see more from you.

That's the prob, I'm not very sure what I want I like the washed skin. Perhaps I could use the black armour still, and wash over metallic colors with blue/pink. The texture will be different but I'm trying to incorporate the blue shoulder pads with pink trim somewhere - there should be continuity say the voices in my head.

That's really nice to hear, the red Khorne actually turned me off at first. The best thing to do, is troll for pics and when you find a color or sheme you really like incorporate it onto your mini. I'll work on it Right now I'm basing and finishing up what I already got!

You could always go for a flesh tone body armor like I am.

Elf flesh + warlock purple are a great combo. Uhh look up "The Flawless Host"
