Despite their loving family oriented nature - I cannot bring myself to like the Nurgle... Just don't appeal to me - but are they a powerful unit? that's what I heard.

Plagues are a pain in the arse to kill
They usually refuse to die throughout a whole game and just sit on objectives like over-protective pitbulls

A single unit of 10 or so should last all game and help to no end, also, guard struggle to kill them

On a nurgle note: nurglings kick arse too!
they are hard to kill, easy to swarm someone with and cheap on points.
they also look great and can be sculpted in a few mins per nurgling

Nurgle daemon princes: As a normal prince, but harder to kill.
Give him breath of chaos and ironhide and expect him to last a whole game while crushing most heavy units (terminators and the likes)

GUO's are even harder to kill due to higher toughness, more wounds and a better save.
they are also more destructive but slower.

Ku'gath is a special GUO who is even harder to kill lol, and is able to destroy small units through shooting each turn.

So yea, nurgle aint all bad, just a bit more grim-dark than most people like

nice start to your Daemon army , on the note of Nurgle.

What makes Plague Bearers a great unit to take is their resilence, which makes them great for the 1st wave.and also for holding objectives.

I run a pure Nurgle Daemon list & my PB squads have icons.

They drop down w/ icons in hand , hunker down in cover if possible.

And help guide down the 2nd wave, thus limited the deep strike mishaps !

I'll have to test out this theory - Nurgle sound pretty awesome to play- just not too pretty to look at

I found a flaw in my army today :( ... While playing I discovered Daemonettes and Bloodletters are quite an unbalanced combo - perhaps my space marines will help. They are good in close combat but are picked off rather easily by long range guns.

Suggestions for an elite and shooty unit? Possibly need a fast unit too.

UPDATE: Chaos marines are assembled - trial paint scheme pics wil be posted soon.

I'm assuming you want these fast units as demons? Maybe use horrors, from what I recall I think they are quite fast, demonettes are also really fast I think O_o

Well within the realm of Chaos. Didn't think of Horrors - I had flesh hounds in mind... but fast/strong would be a good unit.

If your going for fast:

Screamers - fast anti-tank, small units of 3 work well.

Flesh hounds - not soo good, but nice models, i would actually make my own using the new dark elves cold ones

furies - average to say the least, but still not that bad.
Really really bad models though, i would convert winged letters into furies

Seekers - great models and a great unit, shame you cant buy them anymore, you will have to either make custom ones, or get lucky and find them on ebay (if they arent stupidly high priced)



Just an idea, but do you like zombies?
If you dont like the plaguebearers then you could simply make some zombies with swords instead
1 box of cadain shock troopers and a box of VC zobies and you have 40 zombies that look futuristic enough to use as plagues

on a similar note, i would be tempted to use skaven plague monks as nurglings, 3-4 per base

If I ever become ambitious I want to start a conversion project - how would you go about that with the seekers?

Interesting idea - can I really use zombies in place of nurgle?

Crushers - OK, they are expensive, but look good.
Ive seen alot of people use the empire knight horses with letters riding them as stand in models.
To be honest, im not too sure if there is a great substitute model, they are pretty much 1 of a kind.
If you want them cheap then look out for cheap juggernauts on ebay, then add a plastic letter to it lol.

For seekers ive allways been tempted to use the new dark elves cold ones.
They are the right size and shape, the DE design on the saddle, banners and the reigns seem to tie in well.
so mix in the plastic cold one box with daemonettes and you have a fairly cheap substitute that you can make at will, rather than having to hunt them down (they usually sell for around £10 - £12 each!)

I'll definately look into the seekers... right now I have too many projects to finish... and I need to round out my army for gameplay as well so that'll take some figuring but thanks for the unit suggestions

Just started building up and painting what i got daemons wise
Not much, but it should keep me busy until i order a few more box's of ghouls (for horrors)

It's been a while but I've been on hiatus. Kay people, I know I haven't accomplished much recently, I blame school taking up all of my free time on top of drinking and having a life - but I'd really appreciate comments on my daemon pictures/blog hopefully tomorrow (?) or by this weekend (since it's a long one) I'll have some new stuff posted. I have almost 2000 views to only 78 comments... I really do love feedback!

So, wheres the updates binx?
Ive been kinda busy, you know, since modern warfare 2 came out lol, between that and work (and sleeping now and then) ive not got much done.

So far ive got a converted daemon prince up and ready for paint, started painting up 4 more horrors, got my 3 daemon sculpts moving on, aswell as a new herald sculpt im working on.
Ill get some pics up soon then

Also started drawing up some concept sketches for a soulgrinder on 2 legs, with a less mechanical look lol.


also, any ideas on what your getting next?

See my longtime goal atleast with my armies is to have one chaos army *Check* one loyalist army *Sorta check* and a Xenos army... maybe Dark Eldar? or maybe Tyranids.

So when a fluff war happens I can just go "I'm not a heretic i'm everything! ha!" then field all of them in apoc. :3

I do like the black spawn style bloodletters btw.

If you want speed i'd go for fiends.
Crushers are slow, but hard hitting, fiends are stupidly quick, tons of attacks and a pain to catch.
Or, if you want fast anti-tank then screamers aint too bad

Decided to start a skaven army thismorning, which so far has changed to world eaters, and now nids lol, just cant keep 1 army going at once.

Oh for your Chaos Marine unit I would suggest getting Noise Marines if your going for bright and bubblegum, they have to be bright and colourful or else they can't see each other on the battlefield! They've also got some pretty nice special noise weapons and if you get the HQ Lucius the Eternal and put him with them then the squad work work quite nicely!

I looked at the model design - the Noise Marines are wicked! But actually I was going for a completely different colour scheme on my next unit of marines.

What I was originally planning to do was to base the color schemes off of the different Gods - so my next batch would be Khorne themed, the next Tzeench, and the final Nurgle. And I was going to rotate the color scheme that way. I realize it may get a tad unweildly but it keeps my options open as to whatever suits my fancy at the moment.

Keeping that in mind - my completed army is going to be quite the eyesore I'd imagine

The horrors seem good thus far, you use alot of purple. It works though.

Fiends are great-fast, and have enough rending attacks that they can do anti-tank well enough.

For daemon elites choices:
3 Flamers
3 Flamers
6 Fiends, Unholy Might

Are the best 400 points you'll ever spend.

The prince was based on the TK ushabti model lol.

I play my armies quite a bit, but i wont be playing daemons till i have a bigger army, ill stick with my BA till then
