And dammit GES! Your models must be better than tabletop standard! They must be Golden Demon quality, so one day in the future, when GW enter a new catagory for GD, which will be painted army, you will win it!

If you've seen my old thread where I painted a squad of scouts without any sort of primer, you'll understand why this marks a smart decision.
I use a grey primer becuase then they aren't as shiny, which means the paint isn't as shiny and overpowering.

My blue paint is really pissing me off. AFter I'm done using it, despite cleaning the brushes off, the paint remains and feths the brush tips up.
Anybody have any tips?

And on that note, I'm gonna see if i can find another blue that's close enough to the original to use.

I've decided that the support staff like the gunners and pilots will be wearing matching black body armor with white shoulder pads and camo stripes.
The gunners and pilots are partially painted, I'll try and get pics up later.

Dear God the immense burning hatred I now have for white paint is unimaginable.

Three coats for the color to come out even.

I'm thinking I might need to pick up a thicker white paint.

I didn't see any suggestions for primer dude. Glue, wires, yeah, but not primer.

Also, ben thinking of many little ways to convert my guard to carry the theme of urban/winter further.

One of the ways I'm gonna do is one my dad came up with.

I'll run a guitar wire from the exhaust pipe to be glue underneath the cockpit. (NOt attached.)
The idea being the fumes will warm the underside of the cockpit, but won't enter as he'd obviously die of carbon monoxide.

If I eventually pick up some green stuff I might model some greatcoats or fur portions to the armor.

Also, I have finally given the regiment it's full name.

667th Chairo Armored Scout, 7th Ghost Division.

The 7th Ghost Division is a not so subtle reference to Rommel, and indeed, I plan on gsing a model to look like him that will function as Knight Commander Pask.
The tanks will bear the unit markings of the 7th Ghost, and some will bear the Afrika Korps motto to further the theme, and a few models will have Germanic names.

Let it be said I am not a Nazi. I am proud of my german ancestry, and am choosing to use one of the most well respected an honorable German commanders and his unit as a backround for my unit.

Hi GES , You see the blue card on the bottom corner? If you remember the distance between your camera and the card,
thats the perfect distance for all your future photos. I promise it'll all come out great,

It's amazing what one comes up with when takes Benadryll to combat a rash and becomes quite loopy.
Such as booby traps.

I took the spare flamer canisters I had lying around, glued them to a base, and clip the antenea off of a vox to act as a receiver.
I plan on outting a small blob of green stuff to represent C4.
It'll be used in games of Cities of Death.

ANd two spare heavy bolters I had lying around got the trap treatment. I know, I know, those are autocannon shells. Bite me.
I used some old pieces I had left over from the old Gothic Ruins to act as the base for the bolters.
Once again, Cities of Death booby traps.

This guy'll be my veteran squad sergeant. I'm think of naming him Sgt. James Holmes, after my grammpy.

I used a Scout head and a Space Marine Captains plasma pistol to make the model.

This guy was a pain in the ass to make. I hade to cut and file the cloak so many times to get it to fit right, but in the end, I'm pretty happy with it.

ANother veteran conversion. I used, once again, the Scout sprue to make this one. I clipped the laspistol's muzzle down, and clipped the magazine off, replacing it with a
bolter version. The Scout sword holster is glued to his hip, as well as one of the combat knives.

And to go along with my ideas for a game board, here is the aforementioned WOOD DOWNSTAIRS that LunaHound made a jpoke about.

I think it's too skinny to make a good board, maybe cut in half and nailed side by side it would work.

This is the one I'm thinking of using right now. It's small enough to be manuervable but big enough to hold a decent sized game.

I have several rail road ties of this length, and plan on using them for the legs.

What do you guys think?

Also this is my weapon of choice whenever I get in a afight from now on. HAHAHA!

The legs are the supports that hold up the table.

They're 3 foot long 4x4s, iirc.

Or did you mean the minis legs? I just used regular guard legs for those.

If you have the area a 4 x 6 table is perfect for gaming on. Another way is get a cheap card table and a 4 x 4 foot square sheet of 1/2" plywood. You will want one side smooth the other one don't matter.
Get some fine sand and go to a paint store find some bad mix paint this is where the color is wrong you get it cheaper that way. Mix the sand with the paint and roll it on the board then paint it the same color as your bases if you are lucky this will be the color of the bad mix paint. any news on sending you the baneblade commander I could send it to your dad at work if he is worried about things parents are worried about online.

Russ, I haven't had a chance to check with Papa bear yet, but I will.

And as part of a deal I made with someone on dakkadakka, my army will be getting a complete paint overhaul.

They will be stripped, then repainted to this members exacting standards.

I have played on "tables" that were made out of those giant pink foam boards placed ontop of carboard boxes.

Its light and works rather well ( if no one trips on it lol )

@GES: to be honest, 4x4s are good if you need to weigh the table down.

Even if you build with 2x4s for the legs, and cross brace with 1x2s, the table will be plenty sturdy once you attach the top to it.

Check out a dining room or boardroom table - it's plenty heavy enough for gaming!

Can't be using the dining room table sadly.

Mother, AKA the Empress of The Known Universe has made it quite clear no "plastic dollies" on the table.

So I'm making my own to use, as well as to see if I can put it in my van, the WAAAGGHH WAGON!!

(Thank you Mistress of Minis for the name btw.)

Ahh, that's were I was confused.

And more news for the camera. The lens is apparently scratched, leaving al pictures taken with a starnge black dot in the upper left hand corner.
Any ideas on what I should do? Go to an electronics shop, clean the lens, restart it, ignore it?

Camera shop you might need a new lens or they can polish the one you have if possible don't do this your self.
how big is the dungeon for plastic dollies that might give us an idea for your table.

Turns out the problem with the camera is erratic or somethin, the guy said it'd come and go.
It's working fine now, but it'll be annoying when it comes back.

And you know that vox guy I thought was dead cause my cat ate him? Will, while moving my dresser, I found him.
The arm was missing, but he was remarkably intact.

I have since recycled him to be a Master of Ordanance.
Pics soon to come.

The cheapest rout is get a sheet of 1/2" medium density fiber board or mdf for short or oriented strand board or osb for short the osb is lighter but the mdf is cheaper.
4 1"x 4"x 8 and your 4x4s you already have. cut the top to 6' long and 2 of the 1x4s to 6' cut the other 2 1x4 to 2" short of 4' this will give you 2 long and 4 short boards that stiffen up the top.
Nail the boards to the top using small nails or drywall screws long ones first the two end ones then space out the inside ones. Then attach to the legs.

For the board, I was thinking a sheet of luan, then one sheet (thin) of the pink stuff, then a thicker sheet of pink stuff to get the support.

And how bad is it that when I see a group of rocks, I find inspiration for making a board?

I also want to try and make some dogs to represent vets or to put on a display.
I was thinking of using my oldest brothers dogs as bases.
What do you think?

the foam won't really support much I will take a pic of the table I made for my flgs to show you about the support boards I was talking about it is worth it doing this correctly cause a broken table is a bad thing it leads to broken models and chipped paint.

Sorry, I'm tired right now and typing. Stuff in my head doesn't come out like it should.

I meant, one sheet of luan will be bought.
Twice as large as is needed. Then, cut in half, then glued/nailed on on top of eah other.

Then, one thin sheet of pink stuff as a base.
he thicker sheet will be were carving and such will be done to make terrain.
Right now I'm thinking of something simple.

Winter rockies.

Also, does anybody else see an Aquila in this pic I took?
