As Red said, Canterbury West is probably easiest, it's a straight walk up the Darwin footpath from there. If hiiking up a hill doesn't suit your temperament, there are buses on the main road three minutes walk from the station up to the uni.

Agreed. I don't have enough of them as it turns out these things are worth a pretty penny in good nick these days. I have a few though, and plan on one day owning a full run.
SilverMK2 wrote:How do you feel about the (relatively new) Transformers Animated? I have a shelf unit full of Transformers from that cartoon if that helps my case at all.
Honestly, I think every animated series since the original has been pants. If Peter Cullen isn't voicing Prime, I don't wanna know. The new series, aptly named Transformers: Prime looks intriguing.
reds8n wrote:Youre just digging yourself in further now. Anything Post "Beast Wars" is a sin.
^Agreed fo' sho'. Beast Machines was good, the japanese Beast Wars II series was pretty mad. Worth a watch for any true TF nerd.
SilverMK2 wrote:I watched Beast Wars as a kid. My wife also has 2 copies of the original Transformers movie, all the original cartoons, as well as some crazy Japanese Transformers cartoons (Head Masters?) - the dubbing on which makes no sense (Daniel is "Mr Sparkle", and one of the Transformers is called "Phillip" ).
Her brother has, I think, most of the G1 transformers too.
You can't beat Transformers: The Movie. I watched it the other weekend with some buddies. Super-great stuff. I have Headmasters, Victory and Masterforce on DVD too. Missing Zone, but I'm nearly there. To understand the Japanese Transformers properly, you have to watch them in japanese with the subtitles. The dubbing was done by a Korean TV station on the cheap and really leaves a lot to be desired. The subs were done more recently and make a lot more sense. That said, some of the Japanese TFs still have wierd names - for instance, Alan and Leaf. At last count I have 140 G1 Transformers, 1984-1992. Oh dear this thread seems to have come apart at the seams.

Haha, I don't drink tea either
Some pepsi would be fine though
And I just suck - since I virtually never play my list is pretty much just units I like (and have painted). Don't think it will do very well against most armies, but hey, I like the units

Pepsi it is, Silver. Same here really, I'm mainly using units I don't normally play, and hopefully-hopefully I'll have finished my Shining Spears by the time the tourny comes around, and that will be their gaming debut. Of course this most likely means they'll be horribly crushed within seconds, but here's hoping otherwise. Also, FYI, my 1250 list is 5 points under, so it balances out. I sure hope the next Eldar 'dex has neater point distribution. I was SM, I could just give someone a melta bomb.

Looks like the following; not a lot but there is somewhere to go for food and drink
Sat 19th = Rutherford for breakfast 0800 – 0930 / Gulbenkian 1200 – 2200
Sun 19th = Gulbenkian 1200 - 1600
Not sure about the Su shop, I think it's open but....
Might be best if we made a supply run perhaps then ?

Cheers for the help on this end red, I was meanign to shoot off a PM about this sort of thing over the next few days. Beat me to the punch.
I've only been into the Gulbenkian cafe once or twice, it struck me as more of a coffee shop than an eatery. Do they serve actual meals there, or is my vague memory correct? If they serve meals, we should be fine, if not, we'll order in some pizza I guess. Or use the shop, whichever seems more convenient.
Do you reckon you could lay hands on some trays again for people to shuffle their stuff around with? They came in damned handy last time.
As for late night places Chris, there's always the Ocakbasi of Kent, although I'm not sure I'd wish that on anyone....

Does normally do food, again it'd be best to check beforehand as I don't know about this on weekends.
Trays I can do/get, ideally I'll organise them beforehand this time.

I have a quick question. I really want to try and run power blob Guard, but I don't have the models. Not to mention I've put vox casters on all my squads just so they look cool....
If I made everything a genralization across the entire army (aka, ALL infantry sergeants have power weapons. NONE of the vox casters are real, etc.) would people be ok with that?

Sure. No problem with counts as generally speaking, heck, I'm using a zeppelin as a vendetta!
This is such an easy going and laid back tournie that there shouldn't be any problems with this kind of thing. As long as you're not using a squig to count as a Battlewagon, or a coke can as Marneus Calgar, you're pretty good to go to be honest.

What about my coke can drop pods and bottle-top marines? This is good news as I had assume that this would be the case and didn't want to have to cut chainswords off at the last minute. One other question Ben not quite covered before; Is it okay to add vehicles to squadrons as you escalate in PV?

In the same way you can add squads to an Imperial Guard Platoon, you may add vehicles to a squadron, that is correct. You would not be able to add or remove upgrades to vehicles already in the squadron though.
Just as a note, I know a number of you are coming to Platinum Devil for the first time, so if you'd like my phone number in case of any travel issues, feel free to PM me for it.

OK, so hotels booked for Me, Panic and TitanPrinceps, so we're all coming for definite! In Brad's fancy car, with a boot full of spare scenery. (Actually, if Brad and Gary haven't confirmed yet, take this as confirmed!) Next thing - what do I bring? I was gonna update my militia guard, but I've only got part of next week so I may not have time. Any chance of a roll call of what armies are going to be present? Since I have quite a few, I'll happily bring something that nobody else is bringing, just for the sake of variety.

So, I'm a bit sick of Daemons at the mo. It seems the choices for me are Arbites, Tau, Necrons, Space Wolves or Blood Angels. Anything else is already covered. All of them require a week's work to get finished, so I gotta decide soon!
