Dark Angels are in the same boat, and Jervis' name is all over that one IIRC. So they're both donkey-caves.

And since DA came out first it can be argued that CSM is his fault, too, because he started the whole "bland, boring, and sucky" philosophy and Gav followed suit.

The Stormraven looks a bit better than to begin with with, but I still don't like it. The Furioso looks great though- If only I collected BA....

i didn't think it was possible but i've just been proven wrong about GW's version... you apparently CAN build a storm raven uglier than the official one. : ( is that for use in warhammer 40,000 or warhammer 1932? it looks like something straight out of that old fasa midwar air pirate game with the big airship at gencon for scenery.

Because releasing a costy new product is a carefully planned event and leaked photos lead to people jumping to conclusions.

I was, and still am on the fence about buying the SR kit and biting the bullet of fielding a flying out-house, or taking the time to convert my own. I'm thinking something alot like this, with a few modifications of my own to make it look a bit more like a SM craft:

I really find the "OMG check out how Space Marines this thing is" look of the official kit is just silly. It is built in an incredibly in-aerodynamic way, i.e. the under surface area will create more drag than the over surface area, and the whole mess of pockets and corners on the cabin are just ugly. They really look to me like the designer was trying really hard to make it look like a land raider, but the remembered that it had to fly, so tried to fix it at the last minute.

One dread will be my GK dread, one will be my RG libby dread.
One stormraven will be my GK stormraven, one will be my RG stormraven.

Looks like it. Two of the plates don't use the separate head and the one that does is for the libby.

Shame there isn't a more generic head for the dread, for use with other chapters.

Come to think of it, I'm guessing this kit is fully compatible with the Venerable coffin. If so, no harm in the bloody fronts, just use a spare from the other.

I still can't make out if the Force Weapon is handheld or if it is incorporated in the arm like a bajonet-ish spear.

And what is the piece on the sprue on the top left? Is that a mask of some sort or just a pad?

The wings on the "regular" torso look a bit like funny ears, but they shouldn't be that big of a problem.

From what I can remember right now the arm with the frag cannon is on that one, and the other close combat weapon arm where either the other blood fist goes or the Force Weaon + the claws.

The deathcompany sarcophogus has a skull built in for the head, the libby has the death mask, so 2 head options, but not interchangable...
