Gathering the Informations.

"Nemesis", "Psy", "Incinerator" have all been retained.

I mean, if anyone expected the term "Nemesis" to not be widespread throughout the Grey Knights book--they were deluding themselves.

Nemesis weapons have really always been a signature weapon of the Grey Knights, at least as far back as I can remember since I got involved in 40k since 3rd edition when Grey Knights were in Terminator Armour and in the back of the Big Grey Book.

Some nerfs from the leaked dex it seems. Dreadknight being only S6 T6 and all of its weapon options with the exception of the Heavy Incinerator being quite bad limits its uses a bit. I'm curious if the DK can take two of the same weapon in the final dex or not. Then I'd possibly just equip them with two Heavy Incinerators and Personal Teleporters and use them as anti-horde/assault troops. That in turn is pretty reliant on whether Holocaust is usable in close combat or not.

Psybolts seem good at first, but there aren't many good units that actually get a great deal out of them. Venerable Riflemen cost 200 points a pop and are only AV12. Heavy support choices on the other hand are highly contested by other units. The normal psycannon seems great though.

Eagerly waiting to hear about the confirmed henchmen rules, Coteaz and whether Chimeras have fortitude or not.

I'm really not surprised that people still believe that a leaked playtester's codex was the final copy.

Not a lot has changed. Most of the new stuff is stuff we had no idea about since it wasn't even a part of the leaked codex. The only change I've seen so far is the DK being S6 T6 instead of S7 T7.

Well hopefully the DK wasn't too badly nerfed because I would like to include one in my list without having to lose better options

@Therion

There are supposedly some minor pt differences for upgrades but I hear it's 90% the same as the leaked pdf. Which Kan I'm pretty sure 99% of people realize was it wasn't the final product. Just a very late iteration (sp?) of the upcoming codex.

That and PAGK with teleporters are a seperate Fast Attack entry, no longer an option for the Troop choices, but we already knew about that for a while.

Indeed. Once more GW screws the pooch on MCs that aren't named Wraithlord.

@ Redemption: So you seem to have all of this information from the codex, do you also have access to the new models? If so, when do we get to see clear pictures of the new beastie?

No direct access sadly, I'm just spreading the love. However, official pics should be up tomorrow. If I find any pictures before that I'll be sure to relay em here.

Here's a question, did the personal tele's/DK tele's keep the 30 inch shunt move? Any idea if it can be used during the scout phase?

One of my local GW stores has confirmed that their Grey Knights Black Box was already shipped. Most likely it will be there Thursday, though Wednesday is possible. Other US GW stores can probably expect about the same.

Staff also said they weren't absolutely sure of the contents, but that it would likely be the Codex, Dreadknight and possibly TWO kinds of Terminators, both the regular ones and the Paladins. And contrary to some of the barmier fallacies that have been posted in this thread, as they ALWAYS do in US GW stores, the Codex Grey Knights will be out for public viewing once it gets the usual "Games Workshop Look Inside" sticker attached to the front cover, which is generally near immediately after arrival.

The thing is going to be a pain to go up against but I just hope that I get an opportunity to have my Telion finish one off. Peel off the last wound by scoring a rending headshot on the PAGK inside goofy exo-suit.

hrmm... TBH i was expecting that the paladins would be the regular GKT models with extra bling, not a distinct set of models themselves. i guess we'll find out in 48 hours or so.

It may be a little bit of a pain but its far from unstoppable. The 2+ is just so important to stop the thing from easily getting dropped by small arms fire. Any hard hitting weapons can still take it out, its only T6

Edit: I was personally hoping for T7 to make it a bit tougher against marine powerfists, but ohh well ill deal

It still beats a Carnifex by at least; better options, better armour save and a good invulnerable save.

Don't even mention the damn carnifex because the rules for it were so easily able to be fixed but the unit clearly wasn't play tested enough.

If that mistake was made again in a different codex that would just be sad.

I want to see the weapon options for it because I do like what I see so far and knowing that the DK won't go down like a chump to anything that shoots at it is a nice feeling to have.

Are there any improvements to Storm Ravens to make them more attractive then in the Blood Angels codex? In the Blood Angels Codex a Storm Ravens really only served as a Blood talon dreadnought delivery system. Grey Knights do not get Blood Talon dreadnoughts.

Should be something like this:

Can take up to two ranged weapons, out of:
Heavy Psycannon: 36" S7 AP4 Large Blast, Rending
Heavy Incinerator: Fires like Hellhound
Gatling Psilencer: S4 AP- Heavy 12

Comes with 2 Doomfists (doubles Strength), and can replace one with:
Greatsword: S6 Reroll hit and wound
Hammer: Thunderhammer

DK = Dreadknight, who has S6. They're probably still S8 on S4 models

Dreadknight delivery system via teleport homer and personal teleporters maybe?

the rumored psyker ability on vehicles to ignore shaken/stunned helps too.

not really. having a s10 eternal warrior ignoring creature with a statline of a daemon prince that can insta-punk daemons would scare the bejeezus out of me if i were still a chaos player. even more so if there were 3!

Insta death to any non-Nurgle Daemon Prince...in the game

Why non-Nurgle? Nurgle Prince isn't a psyker or a Daemon? It's still a force weapon in addition to having a high strength, so will instant death everything in the game, regardless of toughness, as long as the target is a psyker or a Daemon. If the target isn't a psyker or a Daemon, T5 or less targets of all kinds still suffer instant death. The only targets that don't suffer instant death from S10 daemonbane Nemesis weapons are models of any toughness who have eternal warrior and are not Daemons or psykers (Wolf Lords with Saga of Bear, Sanguinor, Abaddon IIRC, etc).
