She's pretty bad-ass, wouldn't want to meet her in a dark alley. Or a well lit alley for that matter.

The leg with the torn skin looks amazing, like rubber split over a mechanical skeleton. Really a fantastic detail. Is that sculpted or what? Don't recognise many of the parts.

Brilliant and HUBBA HUBBA in a really gross way LOL the torn flesh exposing the inner workings looks great.

The choice of pallet is spot on once again, I really love the way you manage to introduce colour without spoiling the subdued look.

Brilliant model delightful use of pastels which you so rarely see on a 40k figure. Was the basis the plastic Banshee?

I should have said that the miniature is a private casting not commercially available. I converted her slightly, its not like I can leave anything as stock, to be carrying a FW autopistol. The rest is how she was sculpted.

Squigsquasher - She is creepy and that why I like her. As for sexy I don't see it.... Mainly because I've got to know her and I see her twisted soul through all the rejuve treatments.

monkeytroll - I almost repainted the green red but I was given some reassurance. As I said above so glad I did because I enjoyed painting those raspberry pumps (not often you can say that about a creature living aboard a giant space hulk.

Baiyuan - I think she would fit right in with the other wicked witches. Pale(tte) - oh I am groaning and smiling at the same time.

evildrcheese - Cheers - Just think how Neil will feel when his gang ges to meet her in a dark alley...she doesn't like them much.

Bruticus - The bionics are seriously stupendous...I really love her cable hair and the bionic eyes.

LDD - Hubba Hubba???? - I bet you are one of those people caught with their pants down while watching the bathroom scene in the Shining

Oh, I was thinking of a seperate miniature, not converting this one. She is absolutely perfect as is, definately keep her like that. I was just putting forward an idea for another renegade.

I cannot find the right words to describe this group of characters. But this is possibly the most awe-inspiring group of figures I have ever seen. They evoke this setting, like his previous gang the Illium did.

Rise's Cult of True Journey - He added more detail since last time I saw them which is so neatly done, not that the shots above show the checks and litanies. These chaps in their bright robes and rusted equipment stand out on the board and I find their robes to be a cultists representation of the Sump Crust.


Fulgrim's Navagatorii

Tim's Warband resplendent in their 24 carat gold leaf armour. No touching of these models by anything other than the base. The leader of the group floating around is one of those conversion I wish I had come up with. The Navagatorrii are ruthless in character and in game, they are dedicated and single minded in their actions....plus creepy as sin.

This stuff is just so awesome! I mean, each of these gangs really is a story of its own. GW should really try to revive and encourage this sort of stuff more!

Yeah a really great game.. humbling really .. Peter is not giving him self enough credit though .. not only did he do an amzing job as GM forgoing his own cultist's turn aboard the ygg.. he also painted several stunning miniatures as the Arkkes random encounter characters .. each model was in a league of its own.. seriously amazing creation i hope he shows them on here too.. Gloom skull hatchlings .. stymphalian shine birds .. spiderskulls .. wandering priests based of a John blanche painting .. that was stunning ! along with his sidekick .. Creeping shadow.. sumplight sirens the list was endless actually .. amazing achievement in its own right along with writing up custom rules for the game like faulty electrics..
and sump gas explosions.. not only that.. he also managed to covertly enlist the entire top echelon of the worlds moddlers to contribute.. some of the most bizarre and frightful things i have ever seen.. the list included the legendary slayer sword wielding Jabob Rune Nielson .. who actually sent two models .. both unique creations ! The spiky rat pack guys Okki and Ize.. , who sent the most amazing things as you will see... Kraut scientist who sent a brilliant magos explorator creature legion who had united from many into one.... custom and hauntingly beautiful music from the Stefan of the first point of aries.. emperors children marine from the legendary tears of Envy .. the list went on and on and on.. and i fail to do justice to whole thing here .. many many thanks to those who sent models to and contributed in other ways to make this the single most mazing skirmish game in 40k i have ever had the privilege to experience. I managed to snap some photos and will post the rest on my blog over the next few days ..

Holy hell!! That was a smorgasbord of awesomeness! ( did I spell that right?)

Love Neil's crew - the monotone looks fantastic, as does that floating, bloated Curator.

The other cultist crews look great as well - the goldmask idea (the robed VC necro with the cocked mask catches my eye in particular)

It's amazing to see all of these models together, especially seeing some work from JRN and John Blanche? And KrautScientist?

I envy the fact that you can get these models from painters all over... I wish I could do something like that here in the US. All the talent and Inq-Loving is overseas... GW should try to revive this and not just leave it to Mr. Blanche's articles. I've never seen a quality of modelling and painting this strong and so story driven. Kudos to you all!

Simply stunning work by all involved - the Sump is a character all of its own, and the talent oozing through all these gangs is incredible.
Inspiring to see, and to know that JB himself is part of this esteemed group - a full White Dwarf write up perhaps?

I managed to use my camera this time and finally got a decent shot of my gang on the board. While they didn't take part last Saturday they are still after a meeting with the Pandoraclle...they still wish to find the daemon's prison.

HF Izanagi - It is awesome and I am very lucky to have found some people with a similar view. But without Neil's board this wouldn't have been nearly as satisfying. He has built an idea into a reality. His gangs also sit in this world perfectly, blending in with their surroundings like they are meant to be there.

Bruticus - Made me laugh too. It can be seen originally somewhere in Neil's thread....I think it started out as a counts as Sentinel. But on Saturday and possibly from now on it is a Metalspinax - Part mechanical, part dinosaur, part servitor. Who knows what spawned such a monstrosity. Fortunately it is passing through the area, hunted. You are of no consequence to it but don’t enrage it. Weighs an absolute tonne too.

More than a little freaked out by this lot. And I mean that in a very, very good way.

The Arrke bursts from the Empyrean into real space. How long this will is stay in reality no one other than the Darks Gods possibly know....but even they disagree. The inhabitants of this world feel the rumble and grind of new life and kin attach to the land. Another island has joined the continent of the Mythe Shippe.


Arrke Walde - Yggdrassillium - The Sump Crust


The Buzzmen surge into the clan area from the south west along the railway. The Buzzmen having previously encountered the majiiks of the Navigatorii are accompanied a covetous wyrd.


The Cult traverse the walkways from their sunken domain north east of the Tree.


The Mouldii Warrps shuffle and float through the pilgrim shanties and across the gantries high above the Sump Crust in the south east.


From their Amphitheatre of Silence the Family descend into the Sump adjacent to the Pandoracle hovel in the north west. Today they are not here to consult the Pandoracle...besides she is not home.

The Navagatorii slowly venture forward while the other groups converge towards the centre of the pilgrim-me trail desperate to find the Pandorcalle. Though all they find is conflict... As they more deeper into the Pandoicult's home they encounter other denizens of this vast world, flammable gas and faulty electrical equipment.


Fat Nurgling of the Mouldii Warps opened a rusted blast door to encounter a Warrior God of distorted proportions in finely wrought armour of purple plate. This being though unknown to all the dwellers of the world woke a race memory of utter terror and cowering fear. Combat was a short affair as the Purple God moved through Fat Nurgling, leaving him face down on the floor. This armoured giant turned out to be nothing more than a millennia old memory manifest.


A fire fight erupts between a lone fighter. The pyromagiks of the wyrd char a buzzman and moments later immolate the fighter. His charred corpse attract Old Men, who drag the cooked meat to their carnal house. (fingers crossed someone has a good picture of this)

Mordeke of the Family played a game of cat and mouse with an Infected and banished Buzzman. Eventually overcoming this brute by crushing him with mental force.

On the far edges of the Illium protected domain fighters scrabble along pipes and a shoot out occurs between The Cult and the Warrps.




As the Curator flew across the sump to avoid the bullets of the cult. The Mouldii Warrps The Hireling Champion charges into a Cultist. The Cultist is bashed off the pipe into the barge, with this ungainly entrance onto the barge The Spider Hunter is thrown overboard and dragged downstream by the flow of sludge.

I simply can not stop looking in awe at all these pictures. The stunning terrain, the high quality of all the models (conversions,painting and the background stories are beautiful) and the whole of the campaign story. I said it before and will say it again, it most be an absolute joy to play on this board.
