Ghostflame - Of course and the next one will be gay Then I shall put the chaos gods forward for a Stonewall Award.

prime12357 - I agree that blood spatter will complete him

Rogue Wolves - True but is does drag the eyes to the chest rather than the face. Thank god he aint a woman.

Bruticus - He is definitely more squat and condensed than the other. Which is a good thing as everyone is different.

Ha ha GPS....good idea though I doubt the mechanicum or mechanicus would be able to build one. The buttons were simply added because I had originally planned to have his guy holding a hunting rifle and had cut the end of the pipe off so the stock would fit. I needed something to rectify it so the good ol imperial guard rebreather came into its own.

A little colour (in addition to blood) to the weapons might be needed but I think I am going to get them painted to a standard for the 6th and then do the final touches afterwards.

LDD - The original plan for the backpacks was to have the power pack at the bottom in yellow. But now I am not sold on the idea. The dials most definitely need painting. I am thinking of doing the vent on the left of the top tank in brass.

Yggdrasil(illium) - Hmmmmm I blame Neil's love for Nordic folklore for the title It is a good word and rolls off the tongue with a certain flare.

Third guardsman will be finished this weekend with some time and some luck. But I have to write a presentation for work and celebrate my granddaddy's birthday. I also have two more models in the pipe line using FW enforcer parts. The gang leader and Inquisitor Benadice's Interrogator. One will be rushed and the other will be done by January

He looked at the daemon masked Eldar, who now referred to itself as Sha’eil, standing slightly apart from the rest. He had hunted this creature across the cold dead plains of a crone world within the Eye. He caught it by a hairs breadth as it was entering a glowing portal. He took the xenos and tortured it for years, always keeping it alive for reasons unbeknown to him at the time. After his first vision he gave the creature back its skin and had it nursed back to a semblance of health. Compared to the humans present it was still lithe and graceful, compared to its former self it was ungainly and damaged for there is only so much torture a body can take. He promised to save its soul from the Dark Prince in return for its loyalty. He carried the creature's soul stones in a pouch on his waist and caressed the bag knowingly; the no longer quick witted Eldar looked longingly at the pouch and then bowed its head in acknowledgement and subservience.

The outcast had taken a place as an enforcer for the Master and had begun its decent into race memory, at first fighting its conscience but now revelling in tormenting weaker prey. The Master had returned its armour and stealth cloak but forced it to wear the leering half mask instead of its helmet. It had scoured the ships depths to regain its precious sniper rifle, Sha’eil had found it damaged with its ammunition run dry. Without the unobtainable ammunition the Master thought it to be useless but the Eldar took it apart and bastardised it with Imperial technology to create a lasgun of better range and strength. The Eldar had told him that the Imperial technology was as complicated as the toys he had played with as a child. To look at Sha’eil now you would have thought he was originally from Commorragh rather than a Craftworld. In that moment he realised he had never bothered to find out which Craftworld this broken being had belonged. Sha’eil carried its bastardised sniper rifle along with a mismatch of human weapons, it constantly cursed about how primitive they were.

The three Barauchian Guardsman stood in a tight knot, around the Haegtesse, in armour vastly superior to the rags he had found them in. It had taken him four months of searching the holds of various ships in his fleet to find these scoundrels. Finally he found them aboard a captured Imperial Guard troop transport from the Dalthus Sector. The captured guardsmen were being indoctrinated into the great pantheon and of worshipping worthy gods, to be used as a human shield in future raids. These three were already secret worshippers of unclean idols, not converts but believers before their capture and imprisonment.

With skin blistered and poxed from unhealthy and dirty conditions they were an unpleasant sight made worse by having their eye lids and mouths sewn shut. Upon elevation from cannon fodder they had each sewn each other's eyes and mouths shut. Immediately they started to communicate in a series of occult hand gestures, which eventually changed to a weak telepathy. The Master was unsure what they see or how they see but their lack of eyes did not hamper them or make them any less dangerous. He had given them free reign in the armouries, each taking what they required and forming a tattered ill fitting unit. It amused him that these three had joined the guard to get away from their blighted home world, to escape the curse of its decaying infrastructure and its final death throws. Perhaps when the pilgrimage was done he would take them, and the Daemon, to Barauch as part of an invasion to destroy the planet, this thought amused him into actual laughter. Those that heard this awful sound shuddered with repulsion.

So the day of gaming came and went unfortunately the few photos I did take on the day didn't come out so well.

I wont steal Neil's thunder and show off too much of his board which was phenomenal!

Such a good day of gaming, lol, we got a whole three games between chatting!

The last game the five of us played over Neil's board and had a good time getting into the setting and actually how we wanted to play this game....much more organic and less rules orientated. eg A certain winged servo lamp blinding a random ganger per turn, Dice off for turn order and The random flow of the sump when someone fell in etc. Unfortunately we ran out of time... so we shall have to assume that I won the last game even though all my gang were either down, out of action or simply on fire. Damn I hate exterminator cartridges!

The gang looks great all together and the picture of them on the Arkke looks fantastic - can't wait to see some more pics (preferably a bit higher resolution!).

Obviously the painting and modelling is first rate, goes without saying, but I think one thing that I haven't commented on is the bases. Particularly when they are on the game board, the way you have disguised the bases looks great. Especially the Haegtesse who just looks like she is stood directly on the game world. I might have to copy this technique.

What a beautiful group they make, lovely work as always Peter. Love the paint-job on the sniper rifle particularly, and the turquoise touches on the eldar are a great contrast.
And as Bruticus mentions, the bases are a work of art in their own right, look fantastic on the game board.

Looks like it was a great day all in all.

Bruticus - Tell me about the resolution. Fortunately Neil http://opusmaius.blogspot.co.uk/ and Fulgrim http://isstvan.blogspot.co.uk/ have both posted on their respective blogs. Look at the board I am such a lucky so and so.

Bases are important to be ever since I was told by a GW manager back in the 90's to base my models for I would not be able to play in store. At the time I was annoyed but I went home and based the models and it improved the overall look. I had to thank this manager the next time I saw him.

These bases were done to try and match in the the Pandoricalle as much as possible. Though they are a bit clean. I am considering going back to them and adding some more soot weathering powder.

Rogue Wolves - Oh the Eldar got involved with the wrong crowd....but he is quite happy now....dirty corrupted Eldar. I really like the Eldar because he was a break from painting renegade guard and he was a good excuse to use a fantastic model. This conversion would not have been possible without finecast.

weetyskemian44 - Cheers. My attempts at fiction are purely for entertainment and getting more of a feel to the characters. But without having to write a detailed background for each model. I am enjoying where this story is going and I have a couple more installments to go with a couple more models. These models will be done after November since I am painting 1 spawn and as many DV cultists as possible this month.

Ghostflame - The green glow of the sump is lovely and such a truely inspiring board that made the game.

monkeytroll - I am lost for words as to what a great day I had. The company, setting and getting play Necromunda were immense. The Turquoise touches were a must as the Eldar fits in very nicely with my Eldar Army (only ever painted the guardians in Turquoise before getting bored with painting the same thing). In this instance the turquoise broke up the cloak. The cloak was fun to paint to make is blend in the board/bases....first time I have ever painted a metallic cloak I basecoated it Boltgun Metal.

storag - Glad you have found a bit you love

Have a good day guys.

Two Spartan - I'm really happy how he turned out. Fine Cast is brilliant for converting.

Young Logan - Cheers. Hope to see that you've built your own warband

On Saturday at WW I spent £90 on new models for the next phase of the Yggdrassillium.

For the chaos warband I bought a Chaos Warshrine. I plan on finishing the warband off with a four armed mutant made out of the chaos warrior on top. I also aim to build a big mutant out of the rear chaos ogre holding up the shrine.....hmmmmm I need a Dreadknight Incinerator right arm.....bits shopping this evening after dinner fingers crossed!

Brilliant, I've been waiting to see the Warshrine conversions, those big muties are pretty great, and the dude on the altar is awesome. I think the combined item is too cartoony for my tastes but the components are just great. I picked up the Warstriders today and have had a bit of a blutacking frenzy, I wish they had come out a few months ago, perfect for my pitslaves.

Bruticus - What are you doing with the Warstriders?

I do have one Yggdrassillium model to show you guys next week when I have finished her.

It might be a few weeks before you see anything after her though. I have some less fun stuff to do before starting on the warshrine.

On a seperate chaos related note I really want to turn Festus into a Mordheim dreg armed with a cross bow.

I thought I might replace some of the weaker models in my pitslave gang - the ones that use marauder torsos etc. I really don't need to be making any more pitslaves as I have a million other things to work on but I couldn't resist as they were just so perfect.

I was trying to persuade my friend to use Festus as a Scavvy king of some sort, could be a great model with a few little tweaks.

I see....always so many other things to do. Btw are the left arms of the hellstriders seperate from the torso?

Festus would make for a great scavvy king. I think he would need trousers and the big leeches removing.

The mordheim dreg i have in mind would have to be a bar keeper who never left his inn or the city of the damned. Now he serves his vampire master goblets of blood. Defending his pub with his trusty cross bow.

Squig Squasher - cheers. I'll leave it to someone else to combine the warshrine with a landraider....perhaps someone playing 40k will take up the challenge because i don't think the land raider would fit down the corridors of the mystery shippe arkke hulk.

The shoulder is part of the torso, then mid-bicep to wrist is one part, then the hand is another part.

By the way if you don't need the helmeted head from the warshrine I will trade it for something, need to upgrade Sparktacus with that bit.

Mother Head

She floats, no longer using arthritic legs
Bionics life sustaining, no longer holding back the pain
Flex hair flowing sparking
White body stark against corroded crumbling tumbling Arkke
Cable roots shrink back from malevolence meaning harm
Wreathed in paper of vengeanced promised
To deluded pilgrims she brings journeys end
Wreak havoc amongst abhorrent Illium
Murderers of children, murderers of her children.
Planned murder of the Tree

I've had her for a while and it has taken me ages to paint her. I just didn't have my heart in it when she was just going to be a wyrd for necromunda. Now she has a personality and aboard the Arkke she can hunt and kill to her hearts content!

I was kept on a steady course with the her mint green skirt - it also gave me the opportunity to paint raspberry pumps. She is so pale I had difficulty photographing her. I cannot wait to see her on the Ygg board.

Whoa, that thing is creepy.

Exceptional painting, but really creepy.

What model is it?

Also, I think a slightly "sexy" (but not too smutty or fanservicey) renegade styled after Yoko Litner would be cool. But that's just my adolescent mind...
