Bftbg is more opaque than the Tamiya clear paints, but the result you got looks about thr same. I have both bftbg and the Tamiya clear red at home. I'll see if I can try doing a couple test runs after work with both to see how similar the results are.

Cool I'd be interested in your results as there are a lot of minis with powered armor out there .

Red looks awesome dude, really nice job.

On the cockpit, what about a Hind-D (probably wrong spelling), must be a cheap as chips model out there or a toy.

Here stolen frrom the web....

That does look pretty cool. I was wondering about a spherical under-cockpit thing with a gun mounted centrally, we could say it was held in place with magnets or some other scifi-tech... he could twist around whichever direction to clear the area around the deploying troops, and maybe have the drop controls while he was at it. Would still need one on the top/front too though.

I think with the red deciphered the Ninja should go pretty quick now. Still have to figure some things for Mushashi and need to do the billboard before I can paint the sniper.

Drop-ship idea looks interesting, bjut your mention of it as a train is really cool....especially some kind of underslung mag-lev.

Hind cockpit certainly fits in with the rounded aesthetic of the pill-boxes...you might be able to find some anime inspired kits thatw ould work too.

Huh... looks like I need to watch the chronicles of riddick...

Damnit Monkeytroll I was just about settled on the drop ship but now that you mention underslung mag-lev train.... I could try to find a couple more pillboxes to make a proper train, I think a 3 car train with supporting 'rails running from one side to the next with a station somewhere on the board would make a great centerpiece for a 2x2' deadzone board/infinity board section. I'd still need a front and maybe some propulsion bits on the back end but damnit all that's starting to sound cool...

Like the whole train runs on magnets, obviously that's how they move it around but the doors are also hermetically sealed and locked in place with magnetism. As long as the rails are powered the doors are held down with super-magnets so you can't open it. It becomes a posh and secure mode of public transit as well as doubling as a secure transport system for small high-value cargo shipments and their security detail....

Damnit all.

I totally dig the train idea. But I like the drop ship idea as well. Clearly you need loads more pill boxes so you can make them both!

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...

Yeah I'm kind of hoping that wasn't just some clearance item. I was gonna check this evening but they're probably about to close. Supposed to rain tomorrow, perhaps then.

If I can get more, the train idea is somewhat more appealing since it could lead to a board design, whereas the dropship would just be an element.

The dropship also reminds me of the Covenant "Spirit" class dropship from Halo (the one that looks like a tuning fork).

Okay, so here's a pic I took of Blood For The Blood God vs. Tamiya Clear Red. This is not that good of a pic as I was kind of rushing. BFTBG is on the right side, Clear Red on the left. BFTB goes on weird, as I'm sure you already know. It's very thin on the raised surfaces, but pools in the recesses, almost like it's providing its own wash or something. The clear red provides a much more even color, but it's pretty thick. I think though, that you may actually have made the right choice in using BFTBG since it does pool in the recesses which will add some definition to the Oniwaban's arms.

How do both of the paints go being painted over another color? If you laid down a white or black (or any color really) would they work well or do you really need to just be kept neutral?

The BftBG acts kind of like a wash but it's tacky enough you can make it thick to achieve a blood effect. Can't comment on the other one.

Giant Stompy Robot is giant, no joke - true story

I mean he can freaking bat low-flying aircraft out of the sky without reaching!

US soldiers shrunk by the GSR's shrink ray, these look like fun to have around

GIANT MUTANT ANT! I've got 3 'ants' and 2 'spiders'. I thought I had signed up for six but I guess this is the correct number. I'll go over my notes later to verify lol, I can be happy with 5 but if I ordered six I'll call it in.

Dead figures! These should be great for atmospheric scenes. I kind of wish there were two dead martians instead of two US troopers, but I got two sets so it's kind of whatever.

Blaine! Exuding badassery and generally not giving a crap.

Exquisite crashed saucer by antennocitis workshop, almost wish I had gotten another one, totally worth $15.

Bonus clear plastic Science Division using his "masters of science" ability to phase out. You could buy a set and I kind of wish that I had... but funds were running tight at that point.

Martian Dredd! I am the Law, prepare to be Judged!

Enough wrecked and stalled cars to choke a fair sized freeway

I'll probably do more later, but these were my highlights for now!

I wish I'd gotten those Antenociti crashed cars. At the time I just didn't have the extra cash for them though. They look really nice. I had no clue that the casualties would actually end up being plastic. I'd figured they'd be metal like with Deadzone. Had I known, I probably would've purchased some of them, too.

Did you end up with the Tiger Corps mercs at all?

@Barzam Tiger Corps and bounty hunters yes:

I was kind of surprised that everything in my box was the correct material too Well the Mantic $5 car was resin instead of BGPlastic, but that's a good thing IMO.

I remember some people saying they were gonna use Martians as TAU and the GSR as riptides... I haven't seen a riptide in person but this dude just about has to be as tall. Having them in hand, I still say that the saucers are too small for people trying to use them as Necron flyers, but ehh, still happy to have them.

Gonna have 5 flying saucers after bones 2 shows up

That reminds me that I need to preview the intact building set, forgot it probably hasn't been seen yet. That will probably have to come after work, we'll see.

Just enough time to throw up the unit cards from the DZ humans and martian decks I think. May be in the gallery if not here!

Falco is made of glass but he is ridiculously shooty!

A lot of the Heroes of Greenville get a pretty big drop in power when they enter the Deadzone, much less likely to be clubbing martians to death now, aren't we buddy?

Well... no I mean he still hits pretty well but he'll get deathrayed out of the gate

Epic work on the unboxing Grim.

My thoughts? Did not back this, am kind of regretting it now. Will certainly be getting a GSR or two, as well as saucers. Will also have to try and pick up Blaine on ebay, it puts the Deadzone one to shame.

I also do not see what the complaints about the vac formed helmets have been, look more than adequate to me.

I agree on the shrunken soldiers too, brilliant bit of fun from Mantic there.

Gonna dump a photo of an intact building in a moment, though it won't look cool until there is paint IMO.

I interpreted these pieces are glass windows and doors, so a nice store front. Not sure if they'd look better painted up like glass or with some print-outs of the inside of a shopping center maybe?

Neat flipside of the tiles gives you something rough that isn't brick, great for the roof though you could technically use it for the walls too, perhaps stucco or some other material?

I love the little decorative connectors, hopefully they make a batch for deadzone next time they handle that.

Also happy the accessory set came with those fence sections, they're neat!

Also, sedition wars is 22 dollars on miniature market. That's just plain stupid cheap wtf. I guess I probably won't get it though, still have most of the first box in my bits bins awaiting purpose. Crazy deal though.
