I think I'd like the ruins more if they didn't have the plants attached to them. I'll have to see a better picture of them, but from those pics it doesn't look like they work well together.

My issue isn't that there are plants attached to them, but what those plants look like. They're ugly when I'd have preffered something more elegant and leafy. Of course there's nothing fundamentally wrong with them, I'm just giving my silly opinion of how I'd prefer them to look. It's cool to finally have some official eldar terrain and I'll still probably pick these up.

Maybe what changes the plants is what made them a ruins in the first place? My guess is that the fauna turned on the Aeldari and that's why you have ruins. Or at least, that's how I'd roleplay it... M. Night Shamalama made a movie of it

That terrain set does not look like it's worth the price in any way, shape of form... Photos are bad but to me that doesn't look like it would cover much table space. And I'm saying this as an Eldar player in the process of building an "overgrown ruins" themed table.

I wouldn't advise it. I was certain Yvraine would be Malys. Now I'm picking bits of bowler hat out of my teeth

Decided to redo my post. Not sure why I can't just post images normally but it only allows me to do a quick reply?
Anyway:
Now those are interesting. It's the fluff background that's most interesting to me, and they've got quite an interesting storyline going on there
I like the additional mythic background of the swords of Morai-Heg, and the latter part about Yvraine's journey sets up some potential intra-eldar conflict which is interesting...
Well, we know for sure that the swords in these models hands have names and rules. The one in the Visarch's hand is called Asu-Var, the Sword of Silent Screams.

Ulthwe: Yvraine's next port of call is Ulthwe, where she interrupts the trial of Eldrad. Who is being held accountable for his actions on Coheria. The trial is interrupted again when eldar from the Lost craftworld of Altansar arrive...
Belial: Was once one of the home worlds of the Eldar and now lies deep within the Eye of Terror. Yvraine Travels there to find two ancient artefacts that could change the fate of the Eldar for all time. Her mission is only partially successful.
Iyanden: Yvraine travels to Iyanden as the craftworld fights for survival. A great hero dies defending it from the forces of Chaos but death is no longer the barrier it once was. A hero is reborn and the Eldar head for Klaisus (spelling?)

I agree at least one of them probably has one of the 5 blades, but I doubt it's both. Probably Asurmen The last one is most likely with a character we've never heard of.

Well, who's on Belial? She went there for 2 artifacts, and there's 2 swords missing. Might not be the same, but it could be. Unless of course that part was in the past and this includes some of the swords she's already recovered.

I think that is what happened. She went there for 2 swords, but only recovered the one she now holds. Hence the "her mission is only partially successful" bit

Unless they change the lore Asurmen Sword it's a Diresword (an ancient and well crafted one) that houses his very brother soul, and along the ghost weapons from wraith units it's Eldar version of Daemon weapons but wielded with safety.
The souls contained within the gems empower the blades and guides their wielders to cause the maximum damage, also capable to sever a soul from their body if wounded.
But i must recognize that being able to *reborn* Asurmen brother from the Sword somehow may lead to him wielding another of those blades.

Well, she has managed to find 3 so far This just reminds me of the Salamanders looking for the artefacts created by Vulcan.

I quite like Eldar having a McGuffin all their own, me.

Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?
They definitely appear to have rules and benefits, and it would seem odd for GW to release two large sets of what is, basically, plastic mishmash without rules for 40k. Most of their kits seem to have a use and purpose to be included with armies, etc.
Has there been any leaks on possible formations/rules? I have a small number of Dark Elder. Curious if these new guys will be able to join or not. From the fluff sounds of Elder and Dark Elder ships arriving together it may be?
I am more interested in the Dark Elder side of things, I would love to see them become a bit more competitive.

I am just starting to pay attention, but didn't Eldrad get sucked into some trap in a star fort a couple years ago?

I could be wrong, but that might be the ret-conned part.

At some point during the end of the "original" 13th Black Crusade, yes. It looks like they're revising/fleshing things out.
