i´d definatly add some contrasting color to the flags...
and one thing...the rider looks as if he is about to fall off his steed... i think you shoud do something tho i am not sure what to prevent that feeling...
also the copper(?) look is nice...but i would give at least the steed some real look of fur...

I decided to change up the the "Jetbike autarch. The horse was to fantasy, or at least with no modifications it was. But what i found was an old DnD beast thing, anyways i like it a lot better. All ive done so far is the base coloring and the transfers.
I may get a box of cold ones to be shining spears to go along with this autarch. I might have to hedge my money for the forge world shadow specters when ever they might come out . I mean they just look so cool!
Apologies for the over exposure. The tail is long gone but i like the stumpyness, Makes it more concentrated and feral looking.
The tau icons will be very toned down and probably be covered in some graffiti. Nonetheless the tau have some of the best iconography.
The armored arm/collar is my favorite part.
I will definitely leave some of the bits the grimy color (astronomicon grey and tau sept ocher) but this will be contrasted by some vibrant colors.
Any sort of critique is greatly appreciated!

The triumphant return of space horse! a little different than before. This is the second jetbeast autarch i built.
For my average jetbeast rider i would like to mount them on Warrior of Chaos Warhounds. Are they too small? Does any one have a comparison shot of them next to a Eldar Guardian or rule/tape measure? What would you use instead?
I have seen a number of conversions involving cold ones, which are good but space dinosaurs is not as appealing to me as space warg riders.
Anyways autarch number 2 (NOT YET PAINTED):
Those are some fancy pants you have there mr kroot
Hang on mr kroot how'd your legs get on mr horse?
Both of them, (overexposed yay!):
Help with aforementioned questions or comments on my work, appreciated greatly!

Sorry i haven't posted anything in ages.
But, now i give you some painted up some Solarite dire avengers harkening from the planet of Oberon.
The dire avengers: More pictures in the album: Dire Avengers
delectable space meat and space knives, those are a little less scrumptious, though.
Tentacle face, or as another player said "that one guy that's puking"
Hope you like this! (at least a little tiny iota of a bit)

Anyways,
I give you, from the forest moon Titania, a satellite of Oberon, the riders of celestial beasts unhindered by the living rock and maze of trees. These riders navigate the menagerie of Titania's wyld growth, skimming the limitless expanses, touching foot to ground but every 100 leagues.
Now they race to see a play, I heard involved a lion and ork.
A forest spirit no doubt skates the wind in the wake of this rider.
Particularly pleased this effect.
They too, bear the Solarite mark.
Five of the play's troupe have arrived, or so ive heard. Though more ought to come.

Well i hope it is at least interesting/intruiging whether you like it or not.
Anyways two things:
It's a bit hard to tell, in the picture, but there is a shine to some parts making it look a bit like wet mud.
Also i wanting the bases to be more dark and grimy, so they are secondary to the models' paint jobs. But i also wanted there to be little sparks of color.
Also i scratched up some shadow specters, i felt like they were not worth six and half quid/ ten and half bucks a piece.
Anyways i wanted them to be a bit ghostly looking, as they have jet packs, meaning they can jump shoot jump, making them like fleeting shades that just might lance your landraider.

Thanks!
Lately ive mostly just been basing in the same way as above, though i did finish the kroot harliquins as well.
But the most exciting was my wraithlord that in the list i wrote for a local leader board needed a wraithsword. So i made one, magnetized like my other options.
(For those who might not know wraithlord bases are are 60mm, so the scythe quite large)

I really like these old models, but i didnt like their paint jobs so i redid one. The cloak is much more subtle in person and the paint looks more solid.
Overall i wanted to use the base colors so he melted into the base a bit.

This thread confuses me.... I truly do not know what to say without it being percieved as, well, not nice. If you like them, then each to their own. The aestetics do not fit with Eldar in any way shape or form. They just look... wrong, but not in a Chaotic, surrealist way, just... wrong.
Sorry.

It is certainly not rude or mean to say you dont like my work. But saying they look wrong is rather abstract, could you be more specific?
I do agree they do not fit the clean idyllic craftworld eldar form. However, i disagree that eldar could not be like this. The eldar codex makes mention of Eldar pirates and Exodites. The exodites being the "wood elves" of the eldar race. I think these fit within the exodite idea, because exodites are ment to be on the far flung fringes of the galaxy. To me it makes sense that eldar that live out on a wild untamed world far away from anyone would not have their own culture and aesthetic.

Your stuff just keeps growing more and more on me. I love the cloaks, especially on the guy with the green-rimmed base, the strips have a nice flow to them.
Say, I never asked this out of the blue in a thread before, but would you be interested in doing a trade?

I would be pleased to. Is there something you need/want for one of your armies?
And as a general message to anyone who might want any sort of piece modeled or painted or both i would be happy to for bits models of nearly any variety. Just PM me or ask in this thread about what you want.
Lastly I have some more warlocks modeled that ill post later today, probably, once im back from class. Prepare yourselves for a squid face kroot, ork headed slug and el'cyborg'dar!

cool!
Hmm I was thinking something suitably crazy out of your hands could pass for a Lucius the Eternal for my Emperor's Children. With such a cool backstory there must be a better (and crazier) way to depict him than the lame-ass model he has.
Come to think of it... you should think about starting a Slaaneshi cult. I think you could make it look like what Slaanesh really is about rather than 'lol bewbs!'
Is there anything you would like in return?

Lucius model certainly lacks compared to fluff.
Firstly as he's important i think he ought to be elevated, possibly floating or lifted by the power of chaos.
As i understand it if someone kills him they morph into him. In that regard any model could be used as a base. Personally I would like to use a eldar as the base piece, considering the eldar made slannesh it would be appropriate for one of them to fall for his gifts. Also i would add some additional armor so it more like a 3+ save. Though i could easily use a space marine or whatever you'd like for the body.
Also as he takes over the bodies of others i was thinking the model be holding its own head outstretched as its identity is divided.
For the wargear:
I think a whip with a blade on the end would suffice for the lash and torment and power sword.
For the doom siren a back mounted organ thing kinda like the GW one.
For the armor of shrieking souls some faces molded on the armor and a bag of heads.
Do Personal icons and Mark of slannesh need to be modeled?
Feel free to voice your opinion on these rough ideas, particularly the base model idea. Also if anyone else on dakka has a great idea or hates these feel free to add them in.
If i ever did start a chaos army it would have to be tzeentch/ thousand sons/ or even a tzeentch deamons army.
In return um... ill let you know.
Anyways some warlocks:

A buffed up eldar sounds fine.
All those transformations coupled with a few millenia in the warp would probably have him mutated beyond recognition as a human anyway. I think a more gracious eldar-based build would fit with his favouring of grace over brute strength.
All the wargear sounds good. He doesn't necessarily need slaaneshi symbols or icons on his person, if the rest of his look is suitably over the top and perverted (not in a sexual way, it's been done) everything will work out fine.
I think your idea with the faces is cool, just bring the crazy like you can.
