How is this POSSIBLE?. Plastic models are cheaper?? Then why are plastic GW models more expensive? I sense a disturbance in the force.

They've got Kirai and her spirits, which are obviously asian themed, and like Kroothawk said there are the Ten Thunder Brothers.

I don't think we're going to see a "anime" influenced faction, if Wyrd does an asian themed faction, I think it'll be more rooted in the realm of reality and history with a few gubbins added to it to make it fit. The 10T Brothers are a perfect example of this.

That uh... flesh golum is laughable, compared to Mr Chomps, or Killjoy.

That Set of the city stuff keeps getting better and better.

What exactly are those miners, uh... mining?

All in all there are a few turds in the wheat, but other then a couple, the range is shaping up great. Impressed with the story line, and how the miniatures enhance the story.

Need to get back in on this one before I miss the helltrain.

Great range and keeps getting better. I'm really interested in Molly getting her own crew.

Cool!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I added a pic of Lenny to the latest release post. BTW Lenny is a reference to the John Steinbeck novella "Of Mice and Men".

Hmm, not sure about the face, but, otherwise, that looks really nice. A little curious why they went with a regular pig instead of the malifaux look for pigs...

Yeah, the addition of the regular pig seems odd... I was really surprised they didn't give him a giant bunny instead.

Malifaux wise it makes sense because Gremlins go hand in hand with pigs, but Lenny wants a whole farm of bunnies George ...

I rather like the miners. They are haracterful enough to be appealing yet generic enough to be just "Miners". They're the grunts of the MS&U (Miners and Steamfitters Union) that is so heavily focused in the Arcanists Faction and that Ramos is the leader of and that Collette and Kaeris are influential members of.

Either way, I'm a huge fan of non-master specific units, and the Miners fit perfectly.

My one gripe against Malifaux is that you don't really play "Factions", but you play "Masters". The forced synergy for masters and their affiliated minions is so strong that it's rare that you'll ever use a model otherwise unless it's amazingly good such as Deperate Mercenaries, Freikorps Trappers, Gunsmiths, etc.

It's both a new faction as well as a new master for each existing faction. So my guess is that each faction will get new toys, and those new toys can also work with each other.

Yep, the earlier one was clearly Resser themed, and this one's got tomes (arcanists) and clearly works in industry (M&SU).

I'm most curious about what the Guild and Outcast ones will look like-- Neverborn would probably be some sort of basic asian-influenced scary X,Y, or Z

I simply thought it was the current Union Miners which lack a full-colored illustration simply shoe-horned into that wallpaper. After all, the Wyrd Miniatures site background has the old "Hanged" illustration alongside a new Executioner art now.

Purple is usually associated with the Neverborn, and that thing on the right is likely a Neverborn.

The rest look like Arcanist Showgirls and some Resurrectionist?

    Just stating the obvious here.

It's good to see the new book won't contain ONLY models/units/characters of Asian influence.

Wyrd has traditionally done all of our models the old fashion way, sculpt, mold, metal .. good to go! And it hasn't been bad for us at all. Unfortunately these last few years we've had to deal with rising metal costs as well as a horde of other issues that have for one reason or another caused us a bit of trouble that necessitated our move to plastic.

We found a fix to that and in doing so, we feel that we have seriously upped our game when it comes to quality, product and model options.

If you like our artwork, then odds are you're going to love the miniatures, as we've moved from traditional sculpting to digital sculpting and from metal to high detail hard plastic (this isn't your bendy stuff!). Below we've got a couple of shots to show you the progress from art to finished plastic product.

Oh, and the best part ... we're not raising our prices to do so. Better quality, more model options (heads, arms, weapons) at a better price.
