Puppet Wars minis are awsome! I have a set just becuase of how cool they are. Its Puppet Wars gameplay that kills it though, I would best describe it as "clunky"
If you buy all boosters and you manage to sell the game box contents ( except the exclusive puppets) then its a god deal.
And therein lies the problem. I'd love to have a few of the minis, but I have no interest in the game whatsoever. Further, I'd have to purchase multiple boosters if I wanted the minis that I want.
Personally, I think that the Puppet Wars minis would have benefitted from being a bit bulkier, either ala the chibi style of the Super Dungeon Explore minis, or more along the lines of the Tor Miniatures minis. Some of them are just a bit too frail to me.

I've played the game a few times and loved it. I think the activation system is very innovative and fun. Don't really see the clunky criticism.
But I agree, the models could have been a bit better. I'd go the opposite route of Catyrpelius, I'm tempted to use the online rules and my Malifaux models to play, and just use a chessex grid for the board and not bother with the models. I'm not going to miss out on the gameplay, but more and more the puppet look is dimming for me.

I love the Malifaux game, it's mechanics and the models.
I've just realized recently, however, that I will never get into it like Warhammer 40K. I will never play it more than casually and never beyond my current game group.
IMO, Malifaux is falling into the trap that a lot of these skirmish games have dropped into. There are few constants. Every book is filled with a slew of individual models, rather than sizeable units. This would equate to GW making 40K armies into nothing but hordes of independent characters.
Every new book that comes out adds dozens of new individuals (or small groups) that you have to become familiar with in order to play competetively.
You've got to be able to look at your opponent's list, ascertain how each individual group or model works with each of the others, their synergies and how they are going to feed off of each other.
I know it's comparing apples and oranges, but there are stiill valid contrasts to make between it and 40K. With 40K, only a few units (characters) are going to change the synergy of the rest of the army, and it's pretty cut & dried, how they do it. That makes a far better game for someone like me, who takes a more casual attitude towards gaming. I don't have the time to immerse myself in the books and memorize -or even familiarize myself with- every model/unit. Malifaux really seems to require that, to me.
I still love the models. I'll continue collecting them and the game books (their interspersed fiction is addictive! lol). If they put out the RPG I've been clamoring for, I'll even give it a shot.
I don't think I'll be doing much with the miniature game, unfortunately, however.

The following miniatures have already been shown on the previous page:

Hey Kroot... Is there any link that you know of showing off the Dec releases that isn't directly linked to Wyrd.. I'm blocked, and I've been itching to see Ramos' avatar.

They are slightly magically empowered forms of the original characters, replacing them in game (for different reasons, according on what the nature of the specific magic is). But they seem not overpowered or game-breaking.
He is also great on the battefield! I do like the fact the inspiration is so obvious, they made a typo on the stat card just to make it clear for people who somehow missed it!
(His spell Circle of Flames, then goes on to say Ring of Fire...)
Man, Malifaux has such a great range of random cool stuff. I don't want to start the game to avoid having to buy hundreds more models, but they are super tempting regardless!
I managed to trade some FoW items for the Buildinsg of Malifaux, the Lilth and Nicodems(?) boxsets. Those factions went to friends, and I ordered Rasputinas boxset. Plus a frind ordered the streets of Malifaux, and a bunch of base inserts.
Not sure how this plays, but we are going to give it ago. Is there anyway to play this as you would Necromunda? Where a gang/ crew can gather wealth, artifacts and cash? Not the end of the world, but would put an interesting spin on a (Very.) long story campaigan.

We are just planning on running with the boxsets for now Kroot. Is that feasible, or do we need to pick up more? I do like the Snowstorm model. Looks nice.
I was hoping that at least the Book2 Masters would get alternates first. I really dislike the Hamelin-master mini; I wish it had that awesome Piper-hat they show in the artwork.
Either way, awesome stuff. I'm happy that alt-Lilith isn't as 'chubby' as the original. It may be superficial, but such things are permissible when it comes to miniatures.

That is quite unexpected.

Give it some time, if you notice, alt sculpts are coming out when avatars do. So like for April, we get Lilith's Avatar and Nicodem's Avatar, followed by their alt sculpts. The same holds true with the previous previews.
