Textured spray paint exists; most hardware stores carry it.

In my experience the default color of those sprays is crap, so I'd advise spraying it before doing your primer/basecoat to conceal the faux-stone coloring and to let any drybrushing you do show up far better.

Imagine the feeling when you position your tanks, engines idling, landing gear deployed for a low profile, with firing solutions along a key bottleneck. Then some fether lands a dreadnought behind them in a giant heat shielded coke can.

for texture i'd go for a watered down plaster or something, and hope it wont warp the cardstock...

i just noticed this thread as i only just started to look for terrain options... i have to say, its looking very good!

i also noticed that certain trolls have given up and went back to live under their bridges... so thats a battle won i guess.

i actually think the cardstock in this case is more durable then plasticard would be, so when your dont with your test case and made a template for us lesser creatures im gonna pick up some cardstock and build me a fortress

I've tried some Textured Spray paint and I found one that gave the perfect texture. Very fine grained. However after spraying only one building the can clogged and everything I tried wouldn't work. I will get one more can and try again.

The plans will be in a layered pdf so there is only one page and multiple layers. You can still make it from card stock or you can use mat board or plasticard. Some layers that use mat board will say 1mm or 2mm on it to indicate its not the one for card stock.

if its in the spray "cap" (?) ... the nozzle thingy... you know
if you put that in alcohol it might dissolve whatever is clogging it.

looking forward to that PDF... also shared this page on facebook i bet some people are very interested in this thread

Some updates. All the turrets/sponsons are in.

I've made some errors in cutting but I will correct that on my next bastion. This is just the first prototype . Such as the Greeble on the crenelations have been fixed so the big gaps you see on the one I have placed on will (should) not be there on the others.

Astra Militarum
Iron Warriors Army: Enyo Company
Enyo (Greek: Ενυώ, English translation: "warlike" in Greek mythology; Roman: Bellona), was an ancient goddess of war, acting as a counterpart and companion to the war god Ares. She is also identified as his sister, and daughter of Zeus and Hera in a role closely resembling that of Eris; with Homer in particular representing the two as the same goddess. As goddess of war, Enyo is responsible for orchestrating the destruction of cities

I got quite a bit of work done on this today. Next step is making the weapons. they will be slightly oversized as making them very small will be difficult.

Looks excellent so far, kind sir. Keep up the good work. So far, my favorite part is the plain Fortress of Redemption style tower with the heavy bolters on it.

I posted on this thread a while ago when the flaming and copyright infringement crap was going on, I'm glad to see those problems resolved.

Love your work! Highly anticipating the PDF! And on the subject of card, I have never used plasticard on buildings/scratchbuilt vehicles. Cereal board all the way!

I've added instructions for the basic Sci-Fi Bastion.

I will add the plans soon. I just need to add a few new pieces such as the new Corner piece and the wall spacers to go with them. With this you could make a Cruciform Shaped Bastion with a large tower in the center!

If there is something you want to do with the bastion now is the time to ask! I should have most of the configurations, but I just came up with the corner piece this morning so I'm sure there is something else that could be added.

Not really for me though.
I'd prefer to use plasticard mostly because I find paper too flimsy...
That probably says more about me to be honest.

If your interested in the project you should go back and look at some of the pictures. The project started out with cardstock and has now moved on to using 1mm and 2mm mat board. You can substitute the mat board for plasticard but mat board is much more rigid and cheaper than plasticard. However if Plasticard is your preferred method then by all means use it.

The plans can be used with either Cardstock, Mat Board, or Plasticard. You can mix and match if you want as well. Some pieces have multiple copies but for different thickness, like the Crenellations come in two sizes. Cardstock/Platicard for 0.25-0.5mm and for 1mm Mat board/Plasticard. You can even make the main walls out of 5mm foam board as long as you cut the edges at 45 degree angles.

Any ways, I've assembled and glued on all the bolters so the only thing left to do in a billion rivets.
