Still playing 40K, Blood Bowl and Mordheim. Althougth Blood Bowl will get little new stuff for a good while. Mordheim is becoming a staple game in the house, although it feels like I am buying more GW stuff for Terrain for this game than for my actual armies.
40K is still our main GW game overall, Aurelia has got into Dark Eldar this past year, and will be getting SoB once plastics arrive. I have added to my CSM with the hope of a Legions codex, and still play my Orks. Have a long term goal to get Imperial Guard again, but I am waiting for female figures either from GW or a 3rd party.
Eldest has Necrons and will be upgraded to 1500pts when the book comes out, and youngest has just chosen Tyranids, although I have 90% of his 1500pt army already from Aurelia's old force.
Also got into Infinity this year, and might get back into Warhammer Quest, still debating.

I picked "until I finish a few projects" but even that's overly generous.
I've got a BA and IG armies that I'll probably keep forever and may add to a bit over the years. It's always nice to have a fallback game that you can always find players for. Also, I've got a backlog of unpainted stuff for both my armies that would keep me busy for quite a while should I get the 40k bug again.
Though I pick up used necro stuff or oddities once in a while, I've not bought any new GW in a year or so, have no plans to do so, and can't think of much used GW that I'd be interested in either.
My current gaming budget goes into non-GW lines that catch my eye that I can run with any of the generic gaming systems my club prefers such as Warengine/Shockforce. The more interesting non-game-specific stuff I find the less inclined I am to put any more cash into expensive pre-packaged systems like 40k, WHFB, WM, Infinity, etc.

I am using GW figures for both 40k and other SciFi rules sets. GW is a model company IMO, and their rules are secondary. I play 40k because that is what the majority play here and it is easier to get a game in. It is by far NOT my favorite and never has been. I've played 40 since 03. Played historicals since 1988.
To me it is just another game system, not THE game system.

Well, let's face it, a lot of us wouldn't be here if we weren't hopeless addicts. I'm pretty hacked off about the new Sisters 'codex' we've been given, but in the end I just love 40K too much to quit. So I'll just sulk instead.

The pricing is fething insane these days, but I buy from an independent retailer for pretty hefty discounts, so it doesn't affect me as badly.
I'm only in the hobby for the painting side of it, so I don't spent that much as is.
So yes, I'm sticking with GW

My concern has been and will continue to be are they pricing themselves out of the market or through inane rules are they disgusting the market? I will continue to buy GW stuff and play it but only so long as I can regularly find opponents. As soon as the size of the participating group goes down, I will drop the hobby.
For example a periphery game shop has seen a growth in FOW and a drop in WH play and now WH 40K play. If this keeps up I will probably stop going to that store, if it migrates to my regular store, I will probably drop 40K and WH and go to FOW.

I'm a Warhammer hobbyist for life even though I'll be scratch building and buying second hand for the near future. If I had more money I'd be buying new FW models. While GW has more than its fair share of negative stuff they're still really the only prominent tabletop game company out there and they've expanded their licensing into DVDs and video games that are pretty decent.
I'm just not a fan of the other company's model ranges and universes. Hell I'm not even a fan of GW's Lord of the Rings; when it comes to tabletop gaming only Warhammer/40k really appeal to me and make me want to play and spend $$$$. Its almost like World of Warcraft - sure there are other MMO's out there but none with as strong of a brand, community, accessibility, etc.

Sort of... The great thing about a game like this is once you own the models, you dont need to buy more. So I will be playing 40k with my 3 armies, perhaps buying stuff off ebay second hand however I have picked up Infinity which is a great game and will be making every effort to not just hand GW more of my money ie. switching from citadel paints, buying second hand, using other companies miniatures and opening my horizons to other gaming systems.
Thanks to GW for pushing me to Infinity though, wouldnt have tried it without their help lol.

To be fair, two of those models are the size of a dreadnaught ($45 each) and one of them is a Hero ($15). $115 of GW things. Now, Infantry, THATS where it gets ludicrous in Warmachine. I want to get into it for the 'Jacks and everything, but the Infantry is just as cool, but it's around $50 for three cavalry models....

I'm staying with the hobby and have no direct quarrel over prices as I haven't noticed much of a change with prices, so I am definitely staying with GW. However like most intelligent people if I see the exact same thing from a reputable dealer for a lower price I will get some there. I see no purpose in complaining about the system because I have faith that GW would fix major rule errors, and that the rules don't always say your patron army will have major advantages.

Warpath has Orks.
WarEngine (Formerly marketed as Shockforce and now free online) has the "ORGs" army list which was formerly a space ork army until GW sent a cease and desist.
No Limits (Open Source version of VOR)
has an ork Army list.
Of course, 2 if the 3 options above are only appealing to DIY gamers. If you're looking for a currently produced, mass battle, supported game with Space Orks, it's pretty much 40k, Warpath (soon) or nothing.

But you'll never need more than those 3 cavalry to be effective. If you really want to, you can add a couple more.
I guess that's the thing about Warmachine infantry - you can't have the mindset that you need multiples of a single unit (unless you're spamming Steelheads, and then it's your own burden). You get one, either min or max, and then you move on to the next unit.

I'm sticking with it, but I'm only going second hand. Since the CDN $ overtook the US $, it has been stupidly expensive to buy in Canada. I've been buying on the US eBay and whatnot, and then driving down to get them. I hope they fix the price problem, the US $ isn't worth that much anymore...
