No it isn't, you must link to the pic itself (badly hidden in the source code for that page), like that:

Some more info on Elysian Drop Troops, posted by Lothar bubonicus over at Warseer:
Steve Evans to Forge World
Dear FW: Can you tell us what goodness you have planned for the Elysian Drop troops, about to start collecting an army of them and I'm curious to know more.

Forge World Hi Steve,
You may have seen some of Mark Bedfords concept sketches for carapace armoured Elysians - essentially they are part of our product range and while it may take us a while to return to them, there will undoubtedly be more kits released from them at some stage.

Steve Evans Ah yes Elysian Stormtroopers!

Forge World Technically not, the Stormtrooper regiments are quite seperate from those founded from the many planets of the Imperium... however the sketches are for carapace-armoured elite Elysians, perhaps a bit like Death Korps Grenadiers.

Steve Evans will this then mean a change to the army list or are the elite Elysians you have mentioned their equivalent of stormtroopers?

Forge World Only time will tell...

Steve Evans lol tease

Even worse, it appears sometimes even money and exposure don't matter to GW. Apparently, they are having it in Chicago again next year in spite of the massive drop-off in attendance. When it comes to GW in 2011, "this deal just keeps getting worse all the time." :(

New venue is one contribution.

Pissed off gamers may be another. I can't speak to this one.

Another might be: Why is Gamesday being held the week before the largest gaming convention in the US (GenCon Indy), which is also in the MidWest (Baltimore is East Coast, for those without a map)? GenCon's schedules are posted 5 years out. Even if I lived in chicago and was planning my GenCon trip, I wouldn't be able to afford going to Games Day the week before.

I think Kronk speaks the truth. I sincerely doubt I'll be going to Games Day next year because it's so close to GenCon.

Why not bring Gamesday to one of the coasts? Most of the major wargaming conventions are held in the center line of the country and close to it; perhaps Gamesday needs to go to a venue that has no competition like Battle Bunker LA or something.

GW has made major releases on 4th of July, maybe their knowledge of or interest in USA (or any country other than UK) is limited

But surely they have US representatives (Sales guys, managers, and what not) that can say: GenCon corners the midwest gaming circuit in Early August (To some extent, Origins is also a huge draw in mid-July). Perhaps June or September would be a better time for a Chicago games Day...

I admit I could be talking out of my rear, though. If you look at the numbers: 40,000 people go to GenCon, 2600 went to Games Day Chicago. Admitidly, one is GW-specific while the GenCon has cosplay, RPGs, CCGs, Minis, Board Games, and every other gamer genre under the sun. But it isn't a completely Apples to Oranges comparison. It's still 1 week apart and focused on gamers. And gamers play MANY different games and genres.

GW doesn't see itself as part of the tabletop/RPG community, but being a separate "hobby". They rarely attend other cons and are famous for making Games Days one week ahead of a major tabletop/RPG event. I remember one incident in germany (one week before "Spiel" with about 150.000 visitors) and a similar one in Australia, when they still had Games Days

Exciting stuff from FW! More armour variants? IIRC there can not be too many left besides thunder (MK1) and perhaps errant armour. Perhaps we are going to see some relic suits or other fancy ornamental stuff.

Looking forward to more realm of battle sections, far more interesting them GW ones!

And yes, I am going to say this also, GW...this is how you should market your stuff

Join me in pressing them for robed Terminator bodies and hoods, and we might see some really good stuff.

Has anybody around here actually bought one of those FW RoB tiles? I'm curious about the casting quality.

I don't think they've actually made it available for sale yet. They had a photo of it in a "What's New Today" last week, and it was a noticeably different color than their normal resin casts. It was a bright yellow rather than white.

Don't know if that means anything about the casting quality proper, but it's definitely a shade I haven't seen in awhile from them.

I think they will start with Pre-Heresy/Variant Terminators before they slap robes on anything.

I hope!

Well, several of the older resin terrain pieces I've gotten from FW had that particular 'shade' of resin. My Tarantula Sentry Emplacement jumps out immediately to mind.

Maybe it's a different curative that makes it more solid or something?

Aye, that did come to mind. Perhaps they're using the same material they used for those old busts they did back in the day.

Oz now has Games Days, starting with the one this year... scheduled to occur on the same weekend as the biggest Australian miniature war gaming convention/tournament of the year (MOAB).

That smell you’re smelling is ‘hubris’, something GW exudes like some sort of pheromone.

Here is a thread:

(...)
for those that havent seen the FW board in the buff so to speak here it is
Its a similar resin to what they use on boats or car panels I think
Does anyone know if that extension board will come available for sale on the FW site some time?

well there is a discussion to that effect in rumours.
it is in the 2011 catalogue, with a 'later in the year' caption.
From the FW open day, talking with the bloke that created it and with Tony Cottrel, this is the way FW see terrain going ( you may have noticed that they are discontinuing lots of the terrain at the mo), it was suggested that the future depended on how well it sold at the open day ( and they did seem to go well). However there is a slight problem that you may not have picked up from the photos. It is about 2 to 3mm too short along 2 faces. This was the case on both the boards I handled (painted one for Digits Dave who also frequents these parts) Not sure why, I suspect shrinkage. I have no evidence for this but I think that this may be the reason why it has not been seen yet.
Problem was resolved easely enough, by gluing 3mmMDF to 2 of the sides.
hopefully, if I am right...and its a big if!, we will start to see this one and others soon...but not too soon as I am llikely to want to buy them! there was suggestion made of the trench system (which again is no longer available) appearing in this format. though I guess that might have to be a multiple board set to do it justice. Heres hoping!
(...)
I may fill it with expanding foam on the basis that unlike the plactic ROB boards there isnt the reinforcing underneath, but it certainly not a case of treating it like mother/wife's best china. wouldnt want to drop it from any considerable height though.

Any reason why? What's the draw?

I know a lot folks who go to Baltimore but would never travel to Chicago to attend...granted those folks are all mid-atlantic and within 2-3 hours drive of Baltimore.
