I want to see this bloody art for the Elysian veterans. "Too Halo looking" is not Halo looking enough for my taste!

Hopefully, they'll look like the ODSTs from Reach. Image inside the spoiler.

They've been posted. http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5681800&postcount=72
Second one looks the best, I'd say. These guys could easily pass for Elysian Storm Troopers rather than veterans.

Looking forward to seeing the minis properly anyway. Thanks again

They are supposed to be; they are more "cutting edge" and experimental than the traditional line - the lower production costs (overall) enables them to do releases with a lower return on investment.

I don't think they'll end up being as 'blocky' as the concept art, and the Elysian gear as it stands now looks pretty similar to the UNSC Marines from Halo 2+3.

I saw the art. Aside from the helmets having visors (which all helmets will) and a few similar lines, they are totally different. The body armour is completely different and the existence of a pack is different as well as Mjolnir armour in Halo has no pack. Claiming that those designs are "too Halo" is really stretching.

Void Raven is larger Razorwing, with two more engines, angular glass canopy in the nose, stubby Void Lances. Discussed frame breakdown, likely to end up on three tank sprues.

Poisoner is female, wearing a mix of armor plates and sort of a kimono.

Sslyth is snake like. No legs, sits on tail. 4 arms, with CC weapons. Crocodile like head.

Kroothawk wrote:Medusae and Ur-Ghul in cabinet. Medusae has 2 different complete head options. Got to discussing the Ur-Ghul. Jes explained that it originally came from a throwaway line about a temple of the Ur-ghul, and when asked what they were, they ended up being expanded into a race and unit entry. Also got to discussing Urghul skin, and how it is like shark skin. Some Archons like to wrap the hilts of their weapons with Ur-ghul leather.

Kroothawk wrote:As for Dark Eldar characters, I didn't see any pictures for them. Just the four court models and the Bomber. Two court models are already out, the next two may be in work.

I couldn't quite tell, from the description of pictures of these earlier (just concept sketches?) to this last line where he says that they "may be in work", how far along the 2 remaining DE court models are?

I wish I had a better idea if/when they're coming... I can't see myself (or anyone, really) buying the other two models to use in an actual court, rather than for other conversions, without the remaining two being released...

The concept art looks promising. I need some models to represent SM Scouts, but they need to look like they're equipped for EVA (pressurized suits). Unless they seriously mess them up, I will be buying a squad or two when they're released.

And don't tell me"just convert one and use it bro" or something, because be it in FW authorised tournaments or even in my gaming group, you are not allowed to take stuffs from other army's,you only have what goes with your dex...

So once in a while in place of having again 8 Loyal SM variants, give chaos at least 1 or even 2,not exactly the same as those Ares and what not silly Marines LR,but real LR designed by Dark Mechanicus, with fitting rules!

They did a Chaos Reaver, how hard could it be to mae a new Chaos Land raider huh?...

You mean the Land Raider variants that haven't been confirmed and are just being talked about? Yeah...

And don't tell me"just convert one and use it bro" or something, because be it in FW authorised tournaments or even in my gaming group, you are not allowed to take stuffs from other army's,you only have what goes with your dex...

Then use the Chaos stuff. There's plenty that's just as nice as Land Raiders. The Blood Slaughterer and Blight Drone come to mind.

So once in a while in place of having again 8 Loyal SM variants, give chaos at least 1 or even 2,not exactly the same as those Ares and what not silly Marines LR,but real LR designed by Dark Mechanicus, with fitting rules!

Because the Dark Mechanicus isn't going around thinking "Hrmh, how can we make a variant Land Raider?", nor do they have access to the records of Mars like the Adeptus Mechanicus does--which is where these things keep being talked about as coming from.
The Dark Mechanicus is advancing and experimenting and making things like the Blood Slaughterer, Defiler, Blight Drones, etc.

They did a Chaos Reaver, how hard could it be to make a new Chaos Land raider huh?...

The Dark Mechanicus didn't 'create' the Chaos Reaver.
The 'Chaos' Reaver is a standard Reaver, just corrupted over the ages it's been around.

With that out of the way, FW is running a poll on their Facebook page for what model should be posted later this week as a preview.
Choices are the Dark Eldar's Tantalus, the Skaven Brood Horror, the Praetor Armored Assault Launcher(and I think FW is still citing the meme, the tricksters), and Armmaneus Valthex.

Not trying to be rude, but if you're going to try to correct someone...it helps to be correct yourself.

The first 'true' Blood Slaughterers were used by the World Eaters Legion during the Horus Heresy, thought to be a "savage outgrowth of the more common Dreadnought walker technology employed widely by the Space Marine Legions". They are a "dark fusion of technology and the touch of the Blood God Khorne"--which is a hallmark of the Dark Mechanicus, blending sorcery with technology.

Exactly.

Besides, it’s not like any FW items are required to play 40K. This isn’t GW releasing yet another Marine product rather than making a Tervigon kit, this is FW releasing a bunch of new arms for its recently released Dread kit and adding another special character from their two big Marine books.

I mean, they’re releasing a Tech-Marine, some Dread arms, a new LR variant... and a new Guard Super-Heavy and several Dark Eldar vehicles. How can anyone complain about that really? I mean sure, I’d prefer resin Noise Marine and Thousand Sons conversion kits, but I’m hardly going to complain or say ‘screw you’ to FW for making cool models.

The only thing that FW should do is finish off the Ork story they started in IA8. Other than that they can do what they want and I’m happy.

Well said. But they did finish the IA8 storyline, in IA8. It was never going to be a multi-part book.

Actually...they had talked about it being a two parter, and the ending was clearly tacked on.

Talked, yeah. And in the intro they talk about going back to the other clans in a future book, not necessarily a part 2. They also originally intended Badab to be a standalone but I believe Alan Bligh said that it was his fault, he wrote too much, in that designer video.

Anyway back on-topic, regarding the guy who is so very angry about them not doing Chaos stuff... Mr Bedford refers to doing Slaanesh and Tzeentch in a future IA which sounds kinda cool. And oh look, an image of a Dark Eldar badass skimmer blade thing. Which is totally what it's called

I wish they would release non-marine stuff. Oh wait.

Why would they release the heavy bolter arms for the contemptor at all? The only reason people own them for the regular dread is because it comes with the box. Unless the bolter pattern comes equipped with a significant decrease in points to put it better in line with a dakka pred at half its cost I can't imagine anyone will purchase one.

Well, I guess if it's four heavy bolters and not two twin linked. Even then though, thats not very good for what you're paying.
