I know alot of people didn't seem to like the Elysian storm troopers drawings. But, I think they would be a perfect fit for the new Cadian army bits released by forgeworld.

Well, technically, GW only produced it because they realised how much of the action they were missing out on by ignoring the needs and wants of the customer base.

Otherwise, they would simply ignore us like an abused spouse.

GW was never married to us, we are customers. We pay GW to enjoy what they sell, they don't owe us anything beyond delivering what we pay for. If you want to find a relationship parallel for it so badly then GW would be a pimp and all of us are tricks. GW owes you nothing and you aren't being abused. That's funny, because a married couple is exactly what it's like. A business is married to it's customers, in a bond that in a lot of ways, is more binding than a real marriage. Without customers, a business is nothing. Without the business, the customers can't enjoy the service. Therefore it's no surprise that the customer has to act like the nagging wife, because otherwise the business wouldn't be doing anything to change, and therefore, their "marriage" falls apart. Seriously, it's because we care that we critique every move GW makes.

That "concept art" and the actual 1st edition RT backpacks were around for 15 years before chapterhouse even existed, let alone did their own take on them. If GW doesn't come out with a model or bit to capitalize on a need in the time it takes to conceive, gestate, birth, raise, and educate a child to junior year of high school, it's fair game for others to make a derivative work. That is not a justification for not showing a preview a few months before releasing the book/model at their own event.

Either way, I'm glad that FW came through to save the day for the only US games day as well as the UK one IIRC. It's wierd that the spawn of parent GW like Black Library and FW as wel as licensees like FFG can do things right by the community... but GW can't.

Actually, the correct plural is Dwarfs.

Tolkien began using Dwarves, but was often corrected by his editor.

If you wish to be particular, the proper canon plural for Dwarf is Dwarrows... don't ask why, it just always was.

Until you realize that given the price of those weapons it pricey. 175pts base price... if the assault cannons are twinlinked its gonna be ~+30... if they're two separate its +(2x20)... the missile launcher was called a typhoon missile launcher at one point... so +35pts... you'r looking at around 250pts, give or take, for a dreadnought.

Yeah, I called it a Typhoon but Forge World's preview yesterday says that it's a Cyclone.

I don't get to play much, local tourneys and leagues where it is GW only to keep things as balanced as those rules allow. I only buy FW for counts as.

Even worse, it appears sometimes even money and exposure don't matter to GW. Apparently, they are having it in Chicago again next year in spite of the massive drop-off in attendance. When it comes to GW in 2011, "this deal just keeps getting worse all the time." :(

i think its probably mostly the change of venue. While Chicago definitely has the population and gamer scene to support conventions, changing the venue from a location where its been for 20 years is bound to lead to a decrease for the first year or two before the local crowd gets used to the idea of going on a yearly basis. If it stays there for 2 more years and hasn't picked up, only then would I say that GW should be worried.
