@LeCacty: I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with Skulltaker. He is one miniature I really want for my Daemonkin army!

@the_Armyman: Possessed are supposed to be ugly! It's part of who they are. He'll be ugly in a very cool way once he's done!

As for my entry, Cypher is starting to take shape. Still a few base colors to go. I'm gonna go with black for the armor rather than green, as he would likely have pre-Heresy armor and the Dark Angels didn't switch from black to green armor until after that. If I get him done quickly enough, I may even do a few of his friends (some Chosen with plasma guns) for the Fallen Champions formation.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 21 | Current main painting project: Warhammer 40k Leviathan set

I don't know. I've seen a couple painted examples, and he looks pretty derpy. Even other Possessed make fun of this guy's mutations.

Forward progress on my entry.

Working on the base next, then the arms and shoulder pads, and will finish it off with the Jump Pack.

Thanks, and take it easy.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

What do you think, yellow fire, or blue? I think blue would make them look more 'spectral'. But would need to see a picture of it done before so I have a reference picture.

Wow those casts look really nice for finecast.

I may have finished mine already but he's been sat in a box undercoated since last year

Haha. Supprisingly the finecast was pretty good. Lots of flash, which isn't a problem (just tedious). The biggest problem I had with them was fitting the plastic bits to it. Had to GS a bit (I hate using GS).

OK, I’m not getting a good vibe from my counts-as LotD, so I’m going to change my entry.

Chaplain Severus: He’s a little crazy. He takes all of his armors failings as a personal affront, and patches it with trophies from his xenos victims as a reminder and a warning. The mini, fluff, and special rules were a gift from a friend, and I need to get around to painting him. Might as well be now.

He’s dressed up for halloween, in the shattered remains of xenos

From anvil industries. £3.50 will get you 10 heads to 'halloween up' your tactical marines.
I've bought from them before, and everything is high quality and quickly shipped in the UK.
Would someone please do it?

Zambro you have just saved me from trying to green stuff an alternative pumpkin head for my commander, thank you so much. (Paradigm can I order some even though I've already given everything in my proof photo?)
In other news, I just ran out of superglue, so production will stop for now, but I've managed to finish the guy I was working on today.

That is awesome! What did you use for the bodies/heads? Sorry if I'm not reading the answer if it's literally two posts up.

The bodies are just the normal cadian bodies, but I have so many spare backpacks from the heavy weapons teams that I was a ble to outfit a squad with them. The heads are west wind productions, and I thin the answer was on the last page, so you are forgiven.

So I've started on the Skulltaker.

I'll be starting off with a pure red skin, then adding details and skulls, and finally giving it a wash. This should tone down the red a bit, and I'll then highlight the washed red with the original. PLANS!!!
Oh, and this guy may be added. I dunno.

Just a bit of WIP. Still not sure which ones my official entry are. Trick or treat. But both are getting a bit of flip-paint, as I just can't stop playing with it!

Well, WIP. The text and concept in the spoiler may (not likely) upset someones sensibilities. Reader discretion advised.

Spoiler:

No my best ever work by a long shot, either painting or converting. Metals a pain to convert.
Given the stressful nature of their job, and the fact I've been watching How I met Your Mother, I decided to do an Inquisitor, but put him in drag as a 'Slutty Sororitas'.
You know, turning 'tricks' as a 'treat'.
Didn't come out I obvious as I was looking for, but figured I couldn't really do more then makeup, thigh high boots, black and red tight fitting latex without giving him a boobplate, which I was loathe to do.. I may try tidy him up, particularly his face.
Catching an Inquisitor in drag isn't particularly likely to improve your life expectancy as a guardsmen, better watch out for that trick behind his back.

I think I'll join this time, not expecting to win or anything, but a good excuse to paint some zombies none the less

proof:

competition already looks really stiff.

@Zambro: I wonder how those Anvil pumpkin heads would look on some GW zombies, whilst the mantic zed's might be nicer, GWs might be better with scale, an idea for another conversion.

I've finished basecoating Cypher, here is a WIP shot:

Sorry for crappy pic, I shot it with my iPod instead of my nice camera because I was lazy. Next up will be some shading, then on to the highlights. I may go ahead and get started on those plasma chosen to go with him. If I don't finish them, I'll just leave them out of my final pics.
