Fluff question: is it written in DW codex that they have access to real Custodian Spears or are they using just inferior copies?

DW get access to all sorts of goodies that most don't, if not purely due to the Inquisition granting them the rights to do so.

So, knowing that, it's entirely possible the Watch Master (Especially by his age, considering how slowly Marines age, this guy must be ancient) was gifted a relic, or possibly WAS/IS a Custodes. Remember, the Minotaurs chapter master has a Custodes Halberd as well.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

Yeah, I know that they use lot of stuff normally unavailable but would like a confirmation from luchiban or anyone with a codex Also no way a Custodian would be a WM in DW. They do not mix with inferior supersoldiers

It looks pretty, goes on pre-order this Saturday and UK price is £95, which when you think about, the Deathwatch side (based on rough estimates) are about £130 alone. So tempted but I really need to show some restraint!

I haven't bought a new 40K model in years, but this is tempting even if all I ever do with the set is paint them up.

So, going by the army units, it looks like Deathwatch does not have access to a Land Raider Crusader. They only have normal Land Raiders and Redeemers. I wonder why they get short changed?

Is there any formation for harlies (and maybe Ulthran)?

EDIT: Ah, ignore my question please. It was Deathwatch codex, not the Death Masque box my mistake.

I'd really like to see harlie rules as well as arts, although most people are interested in deathwatch.

The list is cropped. No page 90 and a big jump in the other column. Someone has assured LRC is present.

The only harlie rules in there will be for the formation including Eldrad. Probably won't see that until people get hold of boxes.

Hi luchiban!

What new formations to the DW have acces to and their bonuses?
Do DW use chapter tactics at all or specific DC chapter tactics?
What artifacts do they have?
New weapons?
Stats for the flyer and rules?
New special rules?

Not Luchiban, but if you have the rules for the Overkill guys?

None of them used Chapter Tactics. They had USRs that matched the Chapter Tactics.

Are there restrictions for using xenos weapons or you can go radical without worries?

Why would there be worries?

Deathwatch use xenos weapons. It's irony at its finest to murder the alien with their own technology.

I know but how much of it would be considered ok = not branded radical? I do not say that they will care or not care (probably depends of WM in question) but I simply asked if there are any restrictions (also in rules=you can field weapon X but then are limited to only squad Y etc.).

Well, well ...

let's get the party started:

First of all some general stuff:

- No named Characters in the codex

-The "Chapter Tactic" of the Deathwatch is called: Mission Tactics. At the beginning of your first turn you choose: HQ, Elite, Troops, Fast Attack or Heavy Support. You may reroll 1`s to hit vs Targets of the chosen type. Once per battle, at the beginning of any of your turns you may change the chosen type.

- There is a "Decurión" style formation in the codex called Black Spear Strike Force

I must admit I find this latest box set strange to say the least.

Don't get me wrong, the models look good, and the value for money is excellent, but Deathwatch...again...

Very strange...

I look at that flier, and two things spring to mind:

1) Somebody's been watching Empire Strikes back, recently...

2) The old Rick Priestly interview where he made the point that the models drive the rules, and not vice versa, springs to mind. Somebody designed this flier and then dumped it on the desk of one of the games designers...

Not the way I'd plan a release schedule...

His datasheet is in the box, not in the codex.

Well obviously we need to know what the detachment bonus is. Sure we can run CAD apparently but that's boring.

That's actually not a bad rule. Do Veterans all have Special Ammunition still?
