How would Custodes be a "huge announcement" though? This teaser is clearly text meant to be from an in-universe perspective; something coming to the W40K galaxy, that doesn't fit with Custodes because they're already taking part and active again in-universe. Have Custodes been watching and waiting? No, not purposefully. They haven't been just observing things and waiting for their time to come back in and join the fight, they've been doing their job the whole time - guarding Terra. The way the text is worded implies they whatever this new thing is was waiting because they were watching first, the Custodes haven't been doing anything of the sort. Custodes have been "watching and waiting" in the sense of "seeing the events of the galaxy but not getting getting involved", but that wasn't something they'd actually chosen to do, the text does not make much sense for them as it implies a sense of purpose with the "watching and waiting".

That applies to other races like Necrons, Tau, SoB etc, none of them were observing the galaxy until they found the right time to suddenly re-appear. They're all already active, as a faction as a whole they were not doing those things.

Hmm. The Squats got their first official mention from GW in years (that I'm aware of) in the Necromunda book. A coincidence? Perhaps, perhaps not.

Squats would cost me a fortune.

Squats have been mentioned since the 6th ed rulebook in 2012 where they're under the list of approved abhumans along with Fishmen and Tree people (and others).

Watch it just be custodes. It's the safe bet guys. If they open the new year with nothing but marine releases though then I know the direction GW is taking new 40k. I'm hoping against all odds I'm wrong. People have called me crazy for saying less crazy things so I'll hold my tongue again because it will trigger everyone too much again.

Doing Custodes before finishing the existing factions' codexes would really just be a knife in the back to be honest. I'm still guessing on a second Loyalist Primarch.

Yep. 100% disappointed and I was wanting to collect Custodes still. Still doesn't even come close to fitting their ad.... custodes weren't watching nor waiting...... and they still are not coming. Makes no damned sense. I'm still hoping there's another announcement and this was just done to throw off the trail

I don't think the custards are actually related to the teaser, they seem more like an office derp of someone getting a picture of something he was not supposed to see.
