Yeah, I bitched about that already in the Ultramarines movie thread.
DE got the spotlight for a week, and they've already lost it to Marines before they were even officially released. I guess Ultramarines getting a gakky 90's quality CGI movie is a much bigger deal than Dark Eldar getting something new after over a decade of neglect and pretending they didn't even exist.
Makes no sense to me at all. They've supposedly wasted 5 years on this release, got their best sculptors to do all the models and concepts, spent all that money on new plastic molds, and after a week they've been tossed aside again so we can all focus on what seems to be the only army that matters.

Aren't the worms at the base of Urien's model a version the *Excrents* or similar spelling that accompany Archon Kersharq in the novel Nightbringer?
The are described as being lowly disgusting creatures that follow the archon to feast on the dead flesh of his enemies.

So did no one actually read Jes's commentary on the model when it was posted on the GW website? I'd think more people would be interested in reading what he has to say about the designs...

The pictures of the Hellions are in the codex as well.
I think I saw about 4 or maybe 5 different pictures in the minuatures gallery, and yes the one we saw first is the worst one ( Imo), but they are plastic so we can almost certainly fix their looks to our personal liking with all kind of optional parts.

Doesn't this feel like a throwback to the 3rd edition codex where there were only wyches, warriors the warp beasts and some badly converted scourges (using OLD gargoyle wings...!)

No, they've only gone and replaced much of the range with what are received to be GREAT miniatures.
If only they'd make a model for everything else in the Codex, just like every other 5th Edition Codex benefits from...
