I don't think I was expecting a Defiler Variant for the "Daemon Engine".

While I'm sure it makes financial sense (using existing parts and all that), I'm still somewhat disappointed...

That link does have some other WFB model pics too, so of which are rather nice!

That's like, halfway cool.
I mean, I see the daemon part and really like it, then my eye travels down to the Defiler chassis, and that big Defiler claw, and I feel sort of... meh. If this were a conversion by a gamer, I'd be very impressed. As an offering from the corporation, I am underwhelmed.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I must say that I'm underwhelmed by this one. I was expecting something with more guns than just an (apparent) pea-shooter on one arm.

Also, the fact that it's a normal defiler right up until the upright torso somewhat bugs me too.

I like it!

Is it a metal model or a plastic one. My guess would be plastic, but if you notice there are a lot of subtle differences in the blades and the armor plates to be directly defiler sprues.

I like it better than the current defiler which can't quite decide if it's a tank, a centaur or a spider.

I'm with Kyoto on it being better than the current defiler, which I think looks pants.Pity it doesn't look like the concept art, which was brilliant.

I think it's great, reminds me of Doom. Techno-Daemons is way too cool to miss out, and this is the perfect centerpiece for one such army.

I might have to get it. :p

As of right now, that thread is about 6 pages long... and worth paging through.

There are more Daemonette images & a Herald of Slaanesh image and...

Well... It's worth paging through.

...and, does anyone know what the greenstuff sculpt is that's barely visible on the left side of this image?

Cool, it looks like it takes the four legs and chassis of the defiler and uses this new sprue.

My guess is that it will be cheaper then the actual defiler, maybe 35-45?

This would be an excellent defiler. It doesn't look like a demon though.

It's a Daemon-Engine, not a Daemon.

One has fleshy bits, claws and tentacles and teeth. One has fleshy bits, metal claws, tentecles and teeth. Subtle difference.

However, its my understanding the rest of the list is demons, hence a demon engine isn't as appropriate. On the positive my Shaggoths look like they'll work fine as stand in soulgrinders.

But this is an unbound Defiler, one that has escaped the shackles of its metal body, and headed back into the Warp to be away from the Marines that enslaved it.

But has probably kept it because it likes it. I mean, who wouldn't want to keep their spider-leg body and big claws?

bizarre - the bottom half is apparently just a slightly recut defiler with 6 legs and a few extra spikes.

the top half will certainly make a great demon prince conversion, if you can find some suitable legs. And I can see some people converting into into a standard defiler, although getting that big boy to hold a battlecannon might be a challenge

Every single rumor has mentioned it as an unbound defiler, why is that surprising?

I agree with HBMC, it also makes a really cool Daemon Prince.

Each half of that sculpt look good, but when you join the 2 of them without much transitional area, it just looks like a conversion someone did without much though.

It'll make a bangin' Iron Warriors prince with some modification (size reduction), though. I see one of these with just 2 legs (hacked to be digitigrade), or on 4 legs hacked to be more horselike for a centaur thingy, or on sentinel legs with Defiler pads.

Not into the subtle guns either, though.

The current Defiler builds into a very nice Spider and a very decent Knight. It's a crappy Centaur, and a non-starter Tank.

Mahu wrote:My guess is that it will be cheaper then the actual defiler, maybe 35-45?

Haha. It will cost the same. Or more.

The Soulgrinder sprue is out, for the new forelegs and upper torso. The lower hull and rear 4 legs are carried over intact. There's no recut at all, just a sprue swap.

To Tragicnut, I think its mouth is suppose to be some sort of a cannon. Further down in the warseer thread (page3), Brimstone mentions the armaments that it has "two Dread close combat weapons, a harvester cannon and a Mawcannon that is upgradeable..."

Love it. If it had a bit more fleshiness down below and a bit more tech up above it would be perfect. If all the Chaos daemons looked this good I might actually play Chaos.

The new Khorne stuff looks awesome too, and major kudos for sculpting a Juggernaut that conveys a sense of motion. The new Daemonettes are still disappointing though.
