End of week 1.

also, just had a random question that i was hoping you could answer for me.
Are the skull pass models any good?
at the current price they seem like a steal, was just wondering roughly how much i would need to make a small 1,250 point army.
(will include archers, spearmen, characters and spider riders all from skull pass and a giant)

models are stupidly cheap, but was wondering how much i would need points wise.

@ JD21290: The skull pass models are excellent, especially the command group models.
The only problem is the expensiveness points wise of spear armed NGs, and the fact that anout 50 NG archers is all that you will ever need (I'm petering out at 2 units of 30 to help skarsnik generate bolts for his halbard).
NGs are a horde army, the 2500 point army I'm working to at the moment has Skarsnik (just over 200), 2 giants (410), 10 fanatics (250) and will still have 246 models!
You need lots of them.

Into the second week.

I wanted to get the orc bullies for my spear chukkas and some spiider riderss done this week.
Also I'd have Saturday and Sunday not on call so I would be able to get a heap done.

1st lot of bullies (with camera flash)

Hard to see in this pic but the skin on the orc is knarloc green, devlan mud and then knarloc green highlights, whereas the gobbo is knarloc green, goblin green highlights, devlan mud, goblin green highlights.

Day 11- very busy day at work so just got prep work done on a heap and completed 2.

Day 12:

Some NGs completed and more work on the spider riders.

Day 13. Had the day off so finished heap today.

Day 14, another day off and wanted to get the time consuming command group members out of the way.

End week 2, very happy with the progress.

Currently I'm aiming for a 2500 point total for a tournament, but when the O&G is 'fininshed' it should clock in somewhere between 8-10,000.

That of course will have 3 giants, 3 doom divers and 30 odd trolls of the various types, and 4-6 pump wagons just for rare selections.

The next giant will be done late July.

Glenn Lamprecht 3 time OZ slayer sword winner is converting the 'jump up and down' pose.

I will be painting as I need it to fit in with the rest of the army, not a GD piece.

Last week and heading into the home straight.

I'd only have 6 days of painting as I wanted to use the Sunday to pack, and do paperwork from my time away.

So to day 15.
Not much done due to getting called up to the hospital several times.

Day 16: The archers are the last 10 of my 2 units of 25.

Day 17:

The checker pattern on this champ (and all the HW/Shield models is done by first putting squares along the edge with codex grey, then another row of squares above the spaces I.ve left.
I then go over it in skull white and then clean it up with chaos black.

Day 18:

Lookin' good.

They are looking nice.


Those arrow quivers(sorry if I spelled that wrong),did they start life as torches?

The quivers are quivers that come with the NG box set.

Due date is now August 15 for the 2500 point tournament.

I just ordered the last few models, I have about 42 models, including a giant and 4 bases of snotlings to go.
Am still flocking and magnetising the models I did whilst I was away.

Anyway day 19:

Got a bit distracted today and painted up a blood angel assault trooper.
This point is about half way through, just after devlan mudding. Needs rehighlighting still.

These guys all look great.

Day 20 and the last day of painting.

Did up 6 fanatics.

Strangely they take the same amount of time to paint as 6 spear NGs...
