I've almost completed the lower half of the giant and all the flesh, ready for the obligatory devlan mudding.

Those are some quite fantastic ideas for giants.
The falling one looks ace atm, but the description of the third one is really getting me excited.

I finished the devlan mudding last night at midnight and was half way through it before I remembered to take a photo.

This morning very happy with the dried effect (as I'll be rehighlighting).

Unfortunately I'm on a 16 hour shift at work today so more pics will be coming in about 36 hours...

All the new stuff is great, from the shamans (nice hoods!), to the hoppers (love me some squigs, and red ones go fasta!) and that excellent giant. Hilarious squishing of the gobbo, I dig it

After playing it there a a few changes that need to be made.

Update on the giant.

First off, these were taken 2 nights ago, and I was halfway through devlan mudding when I remembered I hadn't taken a pic.
Same method as per my NGs, just 1-2 layers and slap it all on.

So this is last night when I got home from work, and the devlan mud was all dried.
A little dark over the dwarf flesh (I'll be rehighlighting anyway) but perfect over the rest of the model.

Pretty busy next few days so hopefully an update next week.

I like how it looks before the highlights. Gives him a sort of disgusting, never been washed look that fits perfectly for a giant running around with some Gobbos.

Have done the lower half and am working on the top now...



The skin is always a bugger to blend on the top half, so I'll have to do more than the 3 rehighlights I've done on the lower half.

Also the pants are made from NG robes, so I've put the detail work on it to break it up.

Back on track...

Those in the know (the other MODS), know that I've been away for 3 weeks, working in the small (1800 people) town of Monto in Queensland as the relieving doctor.

So between 14 days at the practice and on call for the hospital for half the time I also aimed to paint a whole mess of models, primarily R&F NGs.

I'd based them and undercoated them black before I headed out so I wouldn't be doing that annoying work.

So here is the view from the driveway of the house I stayed in, literally on the edge of town.



In the distance is the town't horse track, where I went to do laps every morning to stay fit.

Day 1, flew in and found out that I would have to work, rather than it being a travel day, so not as much painted as I wanted to, but made a good start.

Also the stands are wedding cake columns I use to hold models so I don't mess them up when painting.

Day 2- finished all the day 1 stuff plus another 3 models (2 with nets)



It should be noted that to help differentiate my little green men I've added markings for each unit type, also to draw the eye when people are passing by, giving players choice points at tourneys.
Archers have triangles
Spears have flames
HW and shield have checks.
Squig related units have crenelated white lines.
Warmachines get nothing

Day 3.

A good shot showing what the models look like post deval mudding but prior to rehighlighting.

Perfectly functional at this stage but I love to go that extra step.

Day 4:

Day 5- finished the models from the last 2 nights.

Day 6- HW and shield warriors with a muso.

Day 7- Had most of the day off, with only a couple of hours at the hospital (A sunday) so go heaps done today:
