Army shot comes post tourney.

I'm shooting for player's choice and I want to leave the effect of the army as a whole as I know quite a few guys going lurk here.... anyway here are some squig hoppers.
Converted to break up the units (as there are only 4 squig hopper models)
One on the left had most of the hood cut off and regreenstuffed the point.
The one on the right just had the skull cut off and the point greenstuffed.

Understood. Looking forward to it though.
I hope youll have the time to do another extensive tournament report as well The lizard one was awesome.

Next 2.

Only change to these 2 models is that I bent the feet down on one and up on the other.
Used a set of model clippers with the blades wrapped in toilet paper.

A simple twist of the right arm, each in a different direction.

The last 4 hoppers, although pairs of the same models, look convincingly like different ones. Good job on them mate!

I have a series of pics on how to do up my mvt trays (boring) then 4 more NGs then the Jump up and down giant that I am currently highlighting (probably 5-6 hours to go on it)

How I do my movement trays.

This one is a custom made 40mm x 80mm (I had 4 made for my 2 base units of snotlings)
With metal sheet for magnetising.

Just out of interest, how much and where do you get metal sheets from? Or is it a simple household item that I have yet to find?

The hoppers look ace 'Nads, especially on that movement tray. Do you use that in game, by the way? It wasn't until I saw Malfred's welves skirmishing around on movement trays that I realized people used those for actually playing fantasy ...

I do use it in game. Also makes transport in my car to games very easy.

The metal sheets are precut from the FLGS I get the mvt trays from. This set I had straight from the guy who makes them.

The metal glued in with super glue

The trays and the army are shaping up well,I like the squig hoppers alot.IMHO they are some of GW's best models and your paint job does them justice.

Greenstuffed the edges to fill any gaps.

Broke out the trusty dremel and used the brush attachment to file back the greenstuff level with the metal inser.





Then PVA glue over the top of the edges and poured GW sand over it.

When dried (next morning) I then use GW chaos black spray over the whole base.



Then I paint scorched brown over the sand.



Then a very quick, heavy drybrush of bleached bone.

Devlan mud wash over the sand on the base edges.



Bleached bone drybrush again.



Chaos black in the centre, and the the walls of the edges. Then Krylon spray, which makes the black uniform, removing streaks.

Wow, nice movement trays

So many steps... seeing the finished product appearing before me made me think it was so easy...
