Is it the 13th company of space wolves or thousand sons?

Don't worry about it Ferret, you'll get it eventually.

Yep Vadem 13th company is actually a pretty popular part of the Space Wolves.

Right, if The_Ferret had awesome loyalist powers then are the wolves [word deleted]. If so then It seems like I'll be losing my first ever Genestealer Game. :*(

:( Yeah, I don't really know my space marine fluff that well. So.... We're losing 3 townies this round (assuming the 1k sons will be night-killing one)? That's pretty bad.

So we lose Not_u as well? Damnit!

Sorry about that then Ferret and Not_U, as I did cast the first stone as it were. I hope there's no hard feelings - I did what I thought would be most useful to town. Clearly, with the loss of Not_u as well, I was wrong, although it's a little harsh to have a town role where you lose 2 townies at once.

@The Ferret - Perhaps you should ask Thor or one of the more experienced Mafia players for a crash course. If you had started posting a bit more, specifically your observations, thoughts and hypothesis's (correct pluralisation?) then this would never have happened.

Still, I'm going to shut up now as the day phase is about to finish.

"Plasma cannons to the fore! Where is the heavy support!?!"

Jorin Bloodfang, Lord of the 13th Company cursed as the Thousand Sons heavy weapons emplacement continued to rain down vicious heavy bolter salvos on his position. The landing zone had been reinforced - the tricky sorcerors must have forseen where he and his men would be landing and had taken appropriate percautions...

Suddenly the earth shook, and in an eye-burning flash of light the emplaced Thousand Sons unit was melted into so much slag.

"My apologies for being so late," laughed Domarr - Rune Priest of the 13th as he and some Long Fangs came loping forward. "I had thought that perhaps my brave liege would manage to survive a few seconds without me there to bail him out. Clearly I was mistaking, and will stay closer from here on out."

"Bah," Jorin made a rude gesture at his friend, "without your usual stench to guide me I became confused as to which direction our opponents were in and thought it best to pause a moment to see where you'd run to and hid. Now I can clearly smell which side is ours once again."

"Well then," Domarr hefted up his gleaming sword, the ice blue runes upon it crackling with power, "perhaps then we should stop squatting in this mud hole and-

His insult never had time to pass his lips, as they both lurched in surprise. It was as though the planet itself had twisted sideways, like a boat lurching in a storm. Jorin snarled as he lifted his head over the stone wall he had taken cover behind, his eyes narrowed as he saw the swirling malestrom before him.

It was a rent in the very fabric of space! Pouring out of the churning maelstrom came hordes of gibbering horrors, and leading them was a wretched carrion bird, dozens of feet tall and walking as though a man. Eldritch fires hissed from its hands as it struck down one of the Long Fangs behind him.

"Abominations," snarled Domarr, "dark magic made manifest!"

"That it may be," Jorin agreed, "but I suppose its head will still look impressive over my mantlepiece." He raised his axe high and looked back at his company, a feral grin lit his features. "Thirteen! Shall we flee, or shall we fight?"

"FIGHT!" The howling reply shook the rafters of the buildings around him.

"Then follow me, to glory! For Russ! For the Thirteenth! For blood and honor!"

The 13th Company stormed forward into the waiting arms of the Chaos Daemons. Steel split flesh and bolter rounds tore through the enemy ranks as Jorin led his men deep into the maw of Chaos.

Then, in an instant, the portal was gone, and the street was silent as the grave.

The Thousand Sons reemerged from their recesses and quickly began to shore up the defensive line. An excellent victory had been won for them this day, the sector would hold and they would be ready for the next arrogant wave of Wolves.

With 13 alive it is 7 to lynch.

the_ferrett - Domarr Gonnarrsson, Wolf Priest of the 13th Company - is lynched.

As a result of the Into the Eye power; n0t_u - Jorin Bloodfang, Wolf Lord of the 13th Company is also dead.

ferrett was a Mason/Lover with n0t_u (this means they knew who each other was, that each of them was loyal, that they could talk to each other during pre-game and nightphase, and that if one died, by any means, the other died as well)

Game goes to Night Phase 1.
If you have a Night Phase Power please PM me your chosen targets prior to deadline. If I do not receive a target prior to deadline I will presume that you intend not to use your power.
If you have a night talk thread - it is now open again.

"Regroup, regroup!" Strenvolf's bellows cut through the chaos as he rose his axe in the air to be seen.

Around him the detachment of the 12th Great Company he was leading stormed to his position, taking up defensive postures in the shattered ruins of a golden building. It had either been an armory or a hospital - Strenvolf honestly couldn't recall. At the far end of the wide piazza he could see the glittering red armor of the Thousand Sons who were pinning down his position. Night had fallen and despite his acute senses he had begun to believe the night belonged to the sorcerers of Magnus' Legion.

"We're pinned down here," snarled Greyholt as he removed his helmet and took a swig of "water" from his canteen. "What exactly is the plan, Battle Leader?"

Strenvolf glanced at the grizzled Long Fang, having no good answer to give him. They were pinned down, to advance would be suicide and to retreat would be suicide as well, except the wounds would be on their backs. He knew which choice was less shameful, but desired neither. He struggled to come up with an answer.

"To the unit trapped in piazza 1274, do you require assistance?"

The crackling voice rang loud in his vox and Strenvolf felt a glimmer of hope in his chest. "Aye, that we do," he quickly responded. "Enemy forces are in the two hab blocks to our north and are pinning us down, we can not advance or withdraw without support.

"Understood. Stand by."

The vox clicked off. Strenvolf frowned, that had been a fairly foolish ending to the conversation. What was he supposed to stand by for?

ARWoooooooooo!!!!

With a laughing howl that could be heard even over their engines the Land Speeder squadron roared past his position, their rotors passing mere feet over Strenvolf's head and the exhaust singing his armor and battering him to the ground. Their heavy flamers gouted to life as they poured liquid Promethium into the Thousand Sons' fortifications.

"Fuggin' Blood Claws," snarled Greyholt as he patted out the flames on his beard. "We gonna let them have all the fun?"

"Chaaaaarge!" Strenvolf sprang out of cover and led his men forward. There was a feeling in his chest that somehow, by some miracle, danger had been averted this night, and the Wolves had nothing to fear!

Yeah, probably a lucky shield power. I think that Arctik_Firangi was the one who they tried to kill, as he was making a massive target of himself, claiming that he wouldn't care if the 1k sons tried to kill him during the night (I paraphrase ok?), which at least balances us out to just a bad first day.

Well, I guess that makes up for last night, in part.

There are a couple of possible options here:

1: The Scum targetted A_F. A_F was shielded. Big up for town - no-one gets killed. Seems the likeliest of these options.

2: The Scum targetted someone else. They were shielded. not very likely imo, but very lucky if that was what happened.

3: The Scum team, knowing they didn't have to: targetted no-one. This provides us with very little leads to go on exept from the voting logs from the last day phase.

Of those 3 options, 1 and 3 seem like the most viable choices. If anyone else wants to add any options to them, feel free. Once we have worked out the most viable option, we can work from there.

Aren't options 1 and 2 equally likely? Option 3 seems the least likely to me, as missing a first night kill does not create enough advantages to outweigh having one less of us around to contend with.

4. The scum are using some sort of ability that requires them to give up a turn of killing. Perhaps not too likely, but you never know.

5. The scum forgot to vote entirely?

Question to Arctik: are you in fact some sort of unkillable mega-wolf?

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I certainly am surprised that I'm still alive, because I presumed that I would be the night-kill target, but I also refuse to believe that I'm the only one that could have been targetted.

Everyone seems to be convinced that I was the target, and I just have to ask - how is everyone so sure?

As far as I know we have nothing to go off but our respective behaviours yesterday. All we know now is that for whatever reason, no night-kill occurred. The people I find most suspicious at this time are the ones who are confident that I was targetted.

Syphonius, Dave, and TherVadam.

EDIT: No, I'm not a 'mega-wolf', and I don't see how that's a constructive question. Obviously there can't be unkillable roles... unless they're a lynch only role I guess.

Or, this could be a longshot but could be possible: Thor had made it so no more than 2 people can die in a single day/night cycle?

Also this could just be my suspisicious mind working here but wouldn't targeting A.F be obvious? Because he was leading town?

Leading town? What does that even mean?

I doubt that there would be rules in place stopping more than two kills from happening... this is a closed-role game, but it's really only the roles that set the special rules. I don't see 'prevent more than two kills' being a role, and unless Thor chose to omit it, night-kill protection wasn't a part of the 13th company role description.

"Chaaaaarge!" Strenvolf sprang out of cover and led his men forward. There was a feeling in his chest that somehow, by some miracle, danger had been averted this night, and the Wolves had nothing to fear!

This suggests that a 'miracle' occurred - it is of course flavour text but it seems worth reading into. A lucky pick for a shielding character or a missed night-action deadline seem most likely.
I believe that the only other logical choice for a scum-kill would have been Orkeo, as that would make me look really rather bad considering my hasty and poorly thought-out accusation yesterday. I was concerned that I'd either be dead, or that today would be involve me being drilled over Orkeo's death. The latter would have been the smartest scum-move in my opinion, because simply killing me wouldn't have made anyone else look suspicious. Killing Orkeo would make me look bad, and hence the scum could possibly have pulled off four dead townies... plus a night kill... for five dead by day three.

This hasn't happened, obviously. If Orkeo was targetted, then the scum was smart... but unlucky.

I just realised I put leading town, whoops. I meant getting the most interest out of town seeing as how the long discussion/argument thing between you and Orkeo.

Also in the flavour text I saw the listed names of Long Fang and Battle leader. I assume these are held roles.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

'Long Fangs' and 'Battle Leaders' are well known Space Wolves unit types, and I think that these are just part of the narrative. One or the other may well be roles, but since we know nothing about what these possible roles could be in terms of rules, we have nothing to go off. Don't get so touchy about it, I just thought you might have been having a go.

Made in gb
Servoarm Flailing Magos

I know they are well known unit types. As they were pinned I just assumed that one or the other could be the role attacked by the sons, if any was.

And unfortunatly I do get quite annoyed easily due to several factors.

Well, actually I didn't consider that the scum might target Orkeo to implicate Arctik_Firangi, but you yourself thought that you might be dead, and even if it would've implicated someone, it would still probably be bad enough for you to die that the scum might try it.
